The Overnight Chosen Wife: darling, kiss me deeper-Chapter 600: Gender reveal
Chapter 600: Gender reveal
"It’s a boy!" She yelled in excitement. She was already in someone’s arms before she could realize it. She looked down at the fallen confetti to confirm that she had not seen wrong.
"Congratulations!" She finally recovered from her excitement to hear her friends congratulate her.
"I’m sure he will be the most handsome baby in town. I mean, have you seen his parents?" Xiaoshi commented, and everyone had to agree with her.
"He will be as handsome as his dad or more." Xingyu bumped fists with his friend.
Xiehan uncontrollably spun her before he held her in his arms.
"Are you okay?" She asked, nervous that he might be disappointed.
"Okay? I’m overjoyed!" He kissed her fondly. "While we are not having a little princess, it’s a blessing that we are going to have our own son. I literally have everything I need right in my arms. What else would a man ask for?"
Before they started displaying their undying affection, Cheng Yu spoke on the screen.
"Congratulations. I can’t wait to meet my godson."
Lin Jian looked excited. "If he ever wants dating advice..."
Lanni smacked him. "He hasn’t even been born yet! Not that I will let you make my son a womanizer." She joked at Lin Joan’s expense, laughing along with everyone.
"Have you thought of a name yet?" Asked Cedric.
"Ages ago." Xiehan laughed, surprising everyone. They thought the couple would wait until the gender reveal to start fumbling with name pairs to find the best match.
"Well..." Lanni felt a little awkward. "We had chosen Li Wei if it was a girl and Ji Shuihan if it was a boy." She glanced over at Li Yuming.
Her mother hugged her. "Honey, it’s already good enough that you thought of it. Don’t change your son’s name just so he can have my surname."
She wrapped her arms around her mother fondly. "We will always be your family and so will he. Same surname or not."
"I’m so happy for you, honey." Li Yuming felt the slight curve of her stomach, feeling her heart melt. She had been alone for a long time and finally, fate was letting her have her share of happiness.
Not only had she fully reconciled with Luna, but she was also a grandmother of two, expecting two more grandchildren and she had finally found true love.
She had known Neil for a while but merely as an acquaintance. It hadn’t been too long since they got close to each other but it was long enough to know that he would die for her. Although they had taken a little too long to finally get into a serious relationship, she now knew the difference between thinking you are in love and actually being in love.
He slid an arm around her. "Yuming, we need to get going." He then turned to Lanni and congratulated her and Xiehan.
"I’m really sorry but we cannot stay for the party. Yuming and I had already booked a flight to Rome for our vacation." He explained nervously.
"We understand. Go ahead and have fun." She offered a kind smile.
Neil kissed Li Yuming on the lips, making Ruby close her eyes at the side.
"Get a room already." She groaned.
Everyone laughed, and Li Yuming and Neil headed for their car hand in hand.
"They look like teenagers in love." Lanni remarked, happy for her mother. She had always thought Lu Yuming was happy until now. With her smiling every few seconds in comparison, it would be no exaggeration to say that she was depressed in the past in comparison.
"That’s what love does." He agreed.

After the video call ended, Cheng Yu had a beautiful smile plastered on her face as she scribbled into her notepad.
Cedric looked over curiously without reading the content of her notepad. "What are you writing?"
"Lanni and Xiehan’s love story." She scribbled the last phrase "And they lived happily ever after" and erased it out.
He raised a brow in amusement. "Why would you write your friend’s love story?"
"If I don’t, how else will I fill little Shuihan in on everything that happened before he was born?" She looked at him like he was an idiot for stating the obvious.
"I’m sure he will be very interested in listeningto his parents’ love story over and over." He grinned, but he was being sarcastic. He immediately jumped and ran out of the room knowing she would want to smack him.
When she finally caught him, she pulled his ears. "You will help me tell the beautiful story."
"Sure. However, I have an even more beautiful story to draw."
They sat down and began to put all the information they had gathered into picture form. It would be a beautiful souvenir.
As for them, neither of them liked the idea of marriage. She hated it for the broken relationship she had with her mother and he hated it for how his mother had used him.
While neither of them was to blame for what their families did, they realized that they both liked the illusion of being free. Marriage was like a cage and they wanted freedom. They were both scared that of they were to get married to each other, it would change their view of each other. So, they decided to live together and enjoy each other’s company, help each other heal and if they never had the urge to marry, remain boyfriend and girlfriend to the end of their lives. After all, the only difference was a signature and the commitment was the same.
Their art would be their babies and they would travel the world whenever they wanted to and settle in whatever country they liked if they ever wanted to move.
"Why did you delete the happily ever after?" He asked, pulling her out of her trance.
She pondered about the deleted phrase briefly. "That’s because Lanni’s and Xiehan’s story has not ended. I have a feeling it has just begun.
He dipped his head and landed his lips against hers. "So has ours."
