The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 411 – Just as suspected.
Chapter 411: Chapter 411 – Just as suspected.
"My queen, is everything okay at home? How about the twins? Are they alright?" Robin asked as soon as he answered the call.
Though he was anxious about everything going on at home, he was also disturbed about Lizzy’s condition, not knowing how to explain it to Sabrina since the doctors had not spoken about it yet.
"Everyone is fine. I’ve been calling Lizzy’s line but she’s not answering. Is she with you?" Sabrina asked anxiously, Robin’s lips pursed and he decided to tell her.
It wasn’t right to hide her sister’s condition from her anyways. "No. She’s in the emergency ward. I’m sorry my queen but she didn’t realize it herself until Jacob noticed she was bleeding."
"What are you saying? How is she?" Sabrina’s voice was already teary. As if worrying about Daniel was not enough, Lizzy had to equally follow suit. Robin swallowed tightly and explained it to her.
"I took her to the emergency ward before I went to see Daniel but Jacob and Devin should be with her now."
Sabrina paused for a while before saying, "Great. I will call Devin."
Robin went back to the emergency room, at the same time Cobby arrived. Robin wanted to keep family and friends away as possible for the sake for their safety, for which reason he did not seem pleased to see Cobby.
Cobby, in particular, had a heart condition, so it was important to avoid sharing any alarming information with him.
"Dad, you shouldn’t have come," Robin said. Due to all the pain and anger buried inside, his expression was somehow indifferent, though polite.
As expected, Cobby was not hearing it and instantly took offense. "My son in law had an accident and you think I shouldn’t have come?"
Robin let out a frustrated sigh and thought to explain it better but due to Cobby’s history with heart attacks, he had to choose his words carefully.
"What I mean to say is, its late. You should have come tomorrow and how is Matilda?" Robin asked, trying to redirect the attention.
"She’s sleeping and doesn’t know that I left so how is Daniel," Cobby asked again, not making it easy for Robin to get rid of him.
"The surgery on his brain was successful but he’s still in a coma," Robin explained softly, Cobby spoke with determination,
"I will see him briefly before I leave but where is Lizzy?" He asked, having no idea about Lizzy’s condition. All the men turned on saddened expressions as the elderly man focused his attention on Robin.
"Tell me the truth. Where is Lizzy?" Cobby’s unease grew as Devin had assured him that Lizzy was fine when he dropped off Matilda. Matilda was too tired to refuse, when Devin informed her that he was dropping her at his father’s mansion.
Devin had not disclosed the seriousness of Daniel’s condition to her in order to prevent panic.
"She’s at the emergency ward. We’re waiting to see the doctor for an update on her condition," Robin replied, hesitant to share the details with Cobby.
Before Cobby could ask more questions, a voice interrupted them, "Mrs. Lizzy Root’s family."
"Me," Devin, Robin, and Cobby all responded simultaneously, leaving the doctor confused. Cobby clarified, "We’re all her family. I’m her father," pointing to Devin, "this is her brother," and then to Robin, "and this is her brother-in-law."
The doctor nodded in understanding, recalling Robin vividly from a previous encounter.
"We were able to stop the bleeding and the fetus is safe, but the chances of survival are slim. She’ll need to remain on bedrest for a few weeks until her condition stabilizes," the doctor explained.
Lizzy had forgotten about her pregnancy during the chaos and had not mentioned it during her examination.
"At least it’s some good news, right?" Devin asked optimistically. "As long as the baby is alive, there’s still hope."
The doctor smiled and agreed, "Yes, there is. The chances are fifty-fifty at this stage, so we’ll move her to a regular ward."
"Make sure she’s in the most spacious private ward. Her sister will want to be with her," Robin insisted, knowing it was important for Sabrina to be there for Lizzy.
The doctor nodded and left, prompting Devin to question, "Isn’t Sabrina supposed to be with the twins? I couldn’t answer her calls because I was afraid of how worried she would be."
Robin smiled, relieved that Devin hadn’t given Sabrina the details yet. "I will inform her then. She won’t be able to sleep anyways."
As soon as Robin dialed Sabrina’s number, she answered and he said, "My queen, Lizzy would have to be on admission for a while."
"I want to be with her," Sabrina demanded, leaving no room for argument. Robin smiled, knowing his wife well.
"Then I will come and pick you up. Laura should remain at the house because of the twins," he said thoughtfully. Since he couldn’t monitor the security himself, it was better that way. Sabrina agreed.
"Okay then, I’m waiting for you." freeweɓnøvel.com
Robin looked around and spotted his twin brother on the waiting bench, busy on his phone. "JJ, I have to go and bring Sabrina."
Indirectly, he was telling Jacob to stay. Turning to Devin, he reminded him, "Devin, you should be with your wife. She needs you. Sabrina would be here and so are we. You know what I mean," Robin said, Daniel nodded in agreement.
They didn’t want Cobby to have a heart attack with the knowledge that Daniel’s predicament was not an accident as it looked.
"Jacob, please stay and watch them. Dad has to go and rest too."
Jacob’s head bobbed as he responded, "No problem. You can count on me."
Robin merely opened his mouth to respond when his phone began to ring. It was Peter. This time, he broke all formalities and went straight to the point.
"Robin, just as I suspected, someone was trying to break into your security at the villa." Robin stiffened instantly.
