The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 444 – Agent one, we’ve apprehended them
Chapter 444: Chapter 444 – Agent one, we’ve apprehended them
Robin was about to use the stairs when one of the agents stopped him. "Mr. Jewel, please allow us to do our job."
Recalling what happened with the General’s men and how they were bribed by Mara, Robin didn’t want the same thing to happen again and insisted,
"No. I’m going in too."
He was about to enter when the agent pulled him back with some force, stating seriously,
"It can be dangerous. If you want to help, then you can stay here and watch the entry, just in case they try to escape."
Robin didn’t like the idea but also couldn’t help agreeing that the agent was right. Also, these were the men Laura trusted, for which reason she recommended them to Robin.
For the sake of Laura, he decided to trust one more time. Also, since his look-alike was the one who had his fingerprint on the entry, he could use the elevator and escape when the agents were using the stairs.
"Fine. You should bring him out alive, do you understand?" Robin said seriously. The agent agreed with a condition.
"We shall bring him out alive but he would be unconscious."
To avoid any struggle or trying to escape, the agent felt it best to bring out the fake Robin in a state of unconsciousness. That way, they would only bring him back to consciousness after reaching their destination.
"Just make sure he isn’t dead. We have to know the person behind the image," Robin warned seriously. The agent nodded and replied,
"Okay."
The two agents used the stairs as Robin and Daniel waited at the exits. Inside the underground bunker, the three people were panicking, as the fake Robin shut down the laptop. frёewebnoѵēl.com
The more they saw the agents closing in on them, the more nervous they got.
"We can’t let them find us," Estelle said with fear in her eyes. She was afraid that she would not be able to see her family again if she got arrested as an accomplice.
"They are already in," Hazel said nervously. Then she thought aloud, "Let’s go out."
"Robin and Daniel are there," the fake Robin pointed out nervously. Seems like he was trapped in his own game this time around, and this was his punishment for acting on impulse.
But there are three of us," Estelle insisted. She didn’t want to be caught and was greatly worried about her family. If she had known, she would have never agreed to work for Hazel again after that gruesome attack at her mansion months ago.
"I’m a woman and I can’t fight both men. Besides, I’m still recovering from surgery. This is all his fault," Hazel stared at the fake Robin in annoyance and spoke.
The latter was also upset by all the blame game she was playing and replied, "Stop blaming me and let’s find a way out."
"What if we hide under the bed or the closet?" Estelle suggested, as any other option was better for her than to be arrested.
"The bed or closet is the first place they would search when they come in," the fake Robin said in annoyance due to her shallow thinking.
Hazel thought for a while and her eyes suddenly lit up while she said, "Let’s call for back up. Call some of your agents to keep Robin and his friend busy while we escape."
The fake Robin felt that the idea was brilliant but it was too late for that. "You should have brought that idea earlier because it would take at least an hour if they use a chopper and these people are already using the stairs."
Hazel felt miserable. Within a few seconds, those agents would be there and there was no way their backup would be able to make it on time.
How could she have known that they would find the exits and entrances to their underground bunker?
"I think we should just surrender. After all, they don’t know who we are. We could tell them that you tried to play a prank on them because you looked like Robin," Hazel gave up and suggested, the fake Robin agreed with her.
"You are right. Let’s cover our fingerprints. They’ll never know who we are."
He brought out the material used for concealing their fingerprints and just as Hazel took hers, an idea flashed in her mind and she paused.
"Wait. We could still bribe them like we did with the general’s men," she suggested, a wry smile stretched the lips of the fake Robin as he stared at her.
"You are good at that. You should handle it then."
The entrance door came tumbling down as one of the agents kicked it. Two agents entered. "You are under arrest," one of them said.
The three individuals raised their hands in the air as the imposter Robin haughtily inquired, "What is our crime?"
The agent swiftly produced handcuffs and did not have time to respond to any of the imposter Robin’s inquiries.
"You will find out when we get to the station," the agent replied.
Before the imposter Robin could say anything else, he was struck in the face, rendering him unconscious as one of the agents proceeded to handcuff him.
After all the trouble the imposter had caused, the agents feared he might attempt to escape and hinder their efforts if given the opportunity.
As the second agent approached Hazel, she began to speak, "Whatever you are being paid, we shall..." but she was interrupted by a punch to the face, causing her to lose consciousness and be handcuffed as well.
The agents were not interested in dealing with nonsense and were determined not to let their hard work go to waste.
With both of her superiors unconscious and handcuffed, Estelle timidly extended her hand, only to be knocked unconscious as well, while the agent used the imposter Robin’s fingerprint to access the elevator and the other agent called Laura on the phone.
"Agent one, we’ve apprehended them," the agent reported.
