The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 462 – My King, I love this
Chapter 462: Chapter 462 – My King, I love this
"Robin, can you check with Peter about the information I requested about Laura’s boyfriend?" Jacob asked hastily when he arrived at the villa.
Robin was having dinner with the family when Jacob returned and was surprised that Jacob had not asked about his mother but rather Laura.
"Sure, but where have you been?" Robin asked calmly, sliding his cutlery through the delicious beef he was having for dinner.
Sabrina did not interfere in their conversation and neither did grandma. Robert was asleep, but Savanah was with Margaret.
The family never lacked caretakers for the twins at all times.
"Laura’s apartment," Jacob said truthfully. Robin’s brows raised and he dabbed the corners of his mouth with a napkin.
After a little thought, he excused himself from the table and walked to the study as Jacob followed him.
"Oh, will you tell me what happened or..." Robin was speaking when Jacob cut in.
"She loves me, Robin. She said it herself," Jacob stuffed the note Laura left behind into his hand.
After reading the content of the note, Robin’s brows raised in shock. There he was thinking that nothing was happening between those two when in actual fact, something massive was happening.
"You two had sex?"
"Is that what matters to you?" Jacob asked in annoyance, his desperation for Laura’s ex at the edge. For a moment, he wished that he was an agent too.
That way, he could hunt down the bastard to give Laura justice. However, he knew that if faced with Laura’s ex, he would not be able to stand against him.
The only thing he could do was to pay another agent to be on the lookout for Laura. Still, he had to be careful, as he couldn’t tell who was on which side.
"Of course not, but I’m happy for you. At least you aren’t a virgin anymore," Robin said teasingly. Jacob could feel his cheek heating up.
He was in his late twenties and yet, this was the first time he had sex. Not only that, Robin was teasing him because of that.
Robin, I need to help her somehow. I can’t allow her to do this alone," Jacob said desperately, driving back to the initial conversation.
Robin relaxed and urged, "Calm down. I will call Pete for help."
Jacob sat in front of Robin, who dialed Pete’s number. As he answered, Robin said, "Pete, sorry to disturb you. It’s about the information I requested about agent one’s ex."
"Oops. I haven’t sent that yet?" Pete asked from the end of the line. Robin replied, "No."
"Sorry. I guess I’m growing old. I will send it in a jiffy. Also, I forgot to congratulate you on your newfound freedom."
"Thank you," Robin smiled and said. He had drastically reduced the number of bodyguards and felt at peace.
When Robin received the information, he forwarded it to Jacob without bothering to check it. Jacob clicked on the new message and anger filled his heart.
"The son of a bitch. He has a family and yet, he took hers. His name is Julius."
Robin saw the fire in Laura’s eyes when she was bent on leaving and was not worried, believing that Laura would be able to take down Julius or whatever his name was.
"Is there a location?" Jacob scanned through the documents and shook his head frustratedly. He paid so much for this information and yet, he couldn’t use it for anything.
"More like he is everywhere and never at the same place for more than twenty-four hours."
"He must be very busy," Robin shrugged but Jacob could not help being afraid and worried for Laura.
"He is also the best in his batch."
"So how do you suggest helping Laura?" Robin asked. Jacob was helpless, asking in return, "You should suggest something."
"You want my advice?" Robin glared at Jacob; the latter glared back.
"Yes."
Robin maintained eye contact and cautioned, "Stay away from her business. Only Laura knows how to get to him. Right now, you can’t even get to Laura so how could you get to him?"
Jacob scratched his head, feeling his frustration multiply. "I feel so useless. I can’t even help her. She might even be pregnant with my child." He was almost in tears but the last part of his confession caught Robin off guard.
"You didn’t use protection?" He asked seriously, slightly disappointed at what his twin brother had done.
Jacob had no regrets and spoke sincerely, "I did it on purpose."
The corner of Robin’s lips curled up into a smile. He never imagined his brother to be a sharpshooter.
"Then she will come back. Don’t worry," Robin encouraged him, but it didn’t seem to work as Jacob was still greatly disturbed.
"But..."
"You need to see your mom," Robin cut him off and revealed. Jacob’s expression changed as Robin went on to explain, "Sabrina suggested to her that we take her to the hospital, but she refused."
"Is her condition alarming?" Jacob asked. He feared losing his mother anytime soon as there was nothing medicine could do for her anymore.
"Isn’t it?" Robin asked in return. He knew that Jacob already knew the condition of his mother, for which reason he asked him to be on the lookout for her.
Being caught like a deer, Jacob came clean. "She’s been like that for ages and there isn’t much doctors can do since old age has become another strong opponent."
It was just as Robin thought, and no matter how he tried, he couldn’t feel saddened for Ethel’s condition.
"Then I think you should prepare to say goodbye from what Sabrina said."
"I will go and check on her," Jacob said and rushed out of the study.
A few days later, Robin had a surprise for Sabrina, taking grandma and the twins along. The eight-and-a-half-hour flight seemed to be worth it after they arrived at their destination.
Grandma, who didn’t like traveling, surprisingly liked the place, and Sabrina’s excitement was equal to that of a little girl. She was mesmerized. "My King, I love this."
