Chapter 472: 240 Small Steamed Bun Group Fight (First Update)_2
The Crown Princess said this, and he didn’t object.
The Crown Princess went to the Courtyard.
Minmin was alone in the courtyard, swinging on a swing. It wasn’t like this a few days ago; his spirits were dampened. It must be Gu Jiao’s medicine taking effect. Children can’t fake emotions, when they are comfortable, they start playing around everywhere.
But even while playing, Minmin was more quiet than an average child.
Unlike Qin Chuyu, who would not calmly sit on the swing. He would either climb onto the pole, or wind himself around the rope like a monkey.
“Minmin.”
The Crown Princess came to his side and gently called him.
Minmin twisted his head strangely: “Who are you?”
The palace maids bowed to the Crown Princess.
The Crown Princess laughed, “My surname is Wo, you can call me Sister Wo. Do you like to swing? Or would you like to play something else?”
“There is nothing here.” Minmin muttered.
The Crown Princess gave a light laugh, reached out her hand, and in her palm, was a clear and transparent pearl: “This is for you.”
Minmin hesitated for a moment, then reached out to take it.
However, just as he was about to touch the pearl, the Crown Princess closed her hand. When she opened it again, the pearl had amazingly turned into a Safflower.
Minmin’s eyes widened.
The Crown Princess tossed the Safflower upwards and a miracle occurred. That Safflower actually morphed into a small bird, that fluently flapped its wings and flew away!
Minmin was dumbfounded: “Wow!”
“Oh dear, your hair.” The Crown Princess reached out to smooth Minmin’s hair. Her fingertips twirled behind his ear and when she brought her hand back to Minmin’s sight, she was pinching that initial jade pearl between her fingers.
The usually composed Minmin couldn’t help but clap his hands: “Amazing! Is this an Immortal Technique?”

She laughed and said, “No, it’s a magic trick.”
In truth, it was a Blinding Technique, where she hid the item in her sleeve. Her movements were swift and graceful, so as not to give away the illusion.
Minmin was deeply intrigued by the Crown Princess’s magic tricks.
“Want to see more?” The Crown Princess asked.
“Yes!” Minmin nodded vigorously.
The Crown Princess then said, “Then let me play on your swing for a while. In exchange, I will perform more magic tricks for you.”
The pleasure that comes from giving something in return is always more cherished than the joy of gains without effort.
Minmin was having a lot of fun.
When the Prince and the Crown Prince finished their awkward conversation and saw this scene, both of them were slightly surprised.
The Prince was surprised because Minmin was not a child that was easy to approach. He was intelligent and knowledgeable, not easily captivated by most people.
The Crown Prince was surprised because he had never seen Wo Linlang exhibit such childlike innocence before. In his presence, she was always dignified and reserved, never crossing boundaries. Yet, she always appeared to lack a touch of cheerfulness.
However, he discovered that when she was amusing a child, he laughed like one too.
It was as if he was looking at Linlang from many years ago when she was with Ahen.
As it was getting late, the Crown Prince and his wife bid farewell to the father and son.
“Sister Wo, will you come and play tomorrow too?” Minmin stopped the Crown Princess.
The Crown Princess glanced at the Prince and then back at Minmin. She whispered, “I can’t leave the palace tomorrow. But if you like, you can come to the East Palace to find me.”
Minmin knew that going to the palace was a big deal, and so he turned to his father with a pleading puppy-dog look.
The Prince cleared his throat and said, “Going out to play should be talked over with your mother. If your mother agrees, then you can go.”
…
They left the Royal Garden.
The Crown Prince and his wife took the carriage back to the palace.
Back on the carriage, the Crown Princess resumed her usual dignity and composure.
The Crown Prince sighed.
The Crown Princess looked at him, “What is your Highness thinking about?”
The Crown Prince confessed, “I was thinking… Did you used to coax Ahen like this too?”
The Crown Princess paused momentarily.
The Crown Prince continued, “Ahen was a crybaby when he was young. I didn’t know how to manage him, but I heard that he listened to you very well. He would stop crying as soon as you consoled him.”
The Crown Princess laughed, “That was all many years ago. I’ve almost forgotten about it. How come you still remember? You are going to be the Emperor. Your mind should not be filled with these insignificant matters.”
The Crown Prince thought for a moment, nodded, and held the Crown Princess’s hand, “Linlang is right. I won’t do it again. You did well this time. The Prince and his wife have deep love for their son, and seeing their son’s sake, they won’t be too hard on the East Palace.”
The Crown Prince’s prediction was not wrong. The next day, when the emissary from Liang country once again negotiated with them about technology and trade, the Prince’s attitude toward the Crown Prince considerably softened.
The Princess didn’t feel secure with her son going to the palace alone. So, she personally escorted Minmin to the East Palace.
