The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1321: Homecoming II

After they finished discussing, Lory decided to go to Harland today because she didn’t want to delay Lucas’s problem any longer, only by seeing Lucas’ condition with her own eyes could Lory feel calm.

Jay and Clift agreed to return immediately considering Lucas was in a dire state and Lory might be the only one who could help him, unfortunately, it took about an hour or so to arrange their departure because they had to prepare a safe route to avoid enemy attention.

In the meantime, Lory was having a conversation with Hadius about weapon and armor preparation for Garrof and the others on their mission, while amid the discussion Lory noticed from the corner of her eye Lilly standing nearby seemingly waiting for her

After finishing the conversation with Hadius, Lory walked towards Lilly, "Hi Lilly, are you waiting for me?"

Lilly smiled nervously, Lilly placed her palm on her right chest and bent her knees as gracefully as possible to greet Lory. Lory was startled for a second then chuckled at how stiff Lilly’s curtsy was, "You don’t have to do that" Lory took Lilly’s hand and helped her stand up.

Lilly was embarrassed, "I’m not good at this, right?"

"That’s okay, it’s not that bad" Lory didn’t discourage her effort, besides, it was quite cute.

Lilly blushed a little, since the first time they met Lory had always been kind to her and had helped her numerous times, and even after Lory revealed her identity Lory’s attitude towards her remained the same, no wonder the Harland’s citizens loved her very much, she would too. Maybe she should change her nationality after everything was over, it doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

Lory felt Lilly had something to say, "Do you need anything from me, Lilly? Just tell me, we are friends after all"

Lily raised her gaze and paused for a moment, mesmerized by a pair of beautiful, sparkling purple eyes staring back at her.

"Lilly?" Lory softly calls her.

Lory’s gentle voice snapped her back from her daze, Lilly blinked her eyes a few times to free herself from the mesmerizing eyes.

"Are you leaving today?" Lilly’s voice hinted with reluctance.

"Yes, I have a lot of things to do," Lory said with a wry smile.

"Oh...right," Lilly says sullenly.

Lilly didn’t know why she asked such an obvious question, but she couldn’t help but feel uneasy, she was afraid that since Lory had taken her rightful place in her kingdom, she wouldn’t have the chance to see Lory again.

Lory poked Lilly’s forehead playfully "What are you thinking, huh?"

Lilly laughs then rubs her forehead "Nothing, I just...Can I meet you again Raven, I mean Princess?"

"Call me Lory, and yes we will meet again, Your family has a pivotal role in our plan so I don’t think we will stop communicating anytime soon, and just like I said before, we’re friends, or perhaps I’m wrong—" Lory looks down dejectedly.

"No - No - No, Of course we’re friends, I...I also think we’re friends!" Lilly nodded her head like a woodpecker.

Amused by Lilly’s flustered face Lory burst into laughing, "Then What are you worrying about, you got my number and you are welcome to come to Cestine Palace anytime you want, just call me and I got everything ready!" Lory grins ear to ear, completely discarding the dignified Princess Lorient persona she shows during the discussion.

Infected by Lory’s hearty laughs Lilly can’t help but laugh as well. Lilly feels much better after confirming Lory’s feelings about her. Lilly gives Lory farewell hugged at Lory.

While hugging Lilly Lory whispered in her ear "Take care of yourself, Lilly, the enemy is targeting you including you, make your choice carefully but prioritize your safety before making a decision, okay"

Lilly was touched by Lory’s caring words because apart from her family no one cared about her like Lory.

"I will, I promise" Lilly replied.

"Good" Lory let go of her hug then rubbed Lilly’s head like a big sister to her little sister, "We will meet again, take care of yourself"

"You too, don’t act rashly again" Lilly pursed her lips.

Lory rolled her eyes, "Why does everyone keep saying that"

Lory’s helpless words bring a giggle to Lilly’s face.

Suddenly Jay called Lory "Your Highness, it’s time!"

Lilly’s laughter stopped suddenly, and her face immediately turned gloomy. their meeting was too short and the separation always lasted longer than she expected, Lilly didn’t know when she would be able to meet Lory again.

"I’ll be there" replied Lory then she shifted her eyes back to Lilly who was struggling to hold her tears, "See you again, and stay away from a bad boy!" Lory poked Lilly’s head.

Lilly laughs while wiping the tears at the corner of her eyes, "I know, see you later...Lory"

"Oh by the way, when everything is done, I let you take a picture with Luc" Lory waggled her brows.

Lilly’s sadness disappeared and changed to excitement "Ha, you Promised!"

"Yup!" Lory raised her thumb then turned around and left with Jay.

Zhao Lixin had been waiting for Lory with a backpack slung over his back, he reached out his hand as Lory approached him.

"Are you ready, Li Xin?" Lory was excited but also nervous at the same time.

"Yes, I can’t wait to see the place where you grew up," Zhao Li Xin said but suddenly he fell silent.

Lory was confused "Why, Li Xin?"

"I forgot to buy a gift for your family" Zhao Li Xin slapped his forehead with a face full of horror. Usually, he told his subordinates to take care of intricate matters like this, since he had no experience taking care of delicated matters like this which is why he made this enormous mistake.

Zhao Li Xin was increasingly worried about what Lory’s family would think about him, after all, Lory was not an ordinary woman, she was the honorable Princess of the strongest Kingdom in the world so how could he slight her, what if it affected her reputation?

’Oh no, I’m in trouble!’

Lory was confused of what could trouble Zhao Li Xin, then she remembered the custom in Zhao Li Xin’s world that men should bring gifts to the woman’s family as a sign of respect for the woman’s family but that custom did not exist in Lory’s world even though there were special rules for marrying into the royal family but in this situation, no one would care about such things.

Lory laughed while hugging Zhao Li Xin’s arm, she felt her husband was very adorable "Don’t worry honey, you’re fine, no one gonna care about that!"

"All the money from the sales of your paintings is here, if you have time you can send your latest work for the next exhibition," Hugo said hopefully.

Zhao Li Xin was also surprised to see the contents of the jet which were very different from the jet that Lawrence had rented for him, not only was it bigger but also much more luxurious with several private chairs, long sofas on both sides with small cushions and also equipped with a small table that emerged from the floor of the plane.

Lory herself was stunned for a moment, she had forgotten how luxurious her royal private plane was, but no matter how magnificent the interior of the plane was, that was not what made this plane so special compared to other countries’ private planes, no, what made this plane special was the technology it had.

Lory took off her jacket and threw it on the sofa, she flicked her bluish-wavy hair over her shoulder, and suddenly she was stunned by the sound of glass falling on the floor.

Lory reflexively turned around and was stunned to see three Noxcra agents standing frozen while staring at her with their mouths wide open and eyes wide open.

Jay and Clift laughed at their reaction, "Get used to it, there will be more people reacting like that" Jay patted Lory’s shoulder while teasing her.

"I can’t wait to see the muscle head and the smiling demon when they meet you" Clift plopped his butt down on the couch and laughed.

Their casual banter convinced the three Noxcra agents that they were not dreaming and that she was indeed Princess Lorient! They immediately knelt on one knee while pressing their fists to the ground, and greeted Lory simultaneously.

Lorry raised an eyebrow, she pointed at herself in confusion "I’m now the Guardian of the kingdom?"

"Yup, that’s your official title now" Jay grinned as he opened his laptop.

"Another thing you’ll have to get used to" Clift chimed in.

"It suits you," Zhao Li Xin nods in agreement, he also thinks is an appropriate title for Lorry.

Nora’s agents’ shoulder trembles when they heard Clift and Jay cracking jokes like they usually do, it’s been a long time since they felt a light atmosphere like this.

Lory looked at the third Noxcra agent with a nostalgic feeling, seeing them made Lory miss her hometown even more, she wondered how much had changed and how much remained the same, Nevertheless, it was still the kingdom she loved.

"It’s been a long time, thank you for protecting my family and my kingdom when I’m not around"

The Noxcra agent slowly lifted their gaze then they were greeted by a beautiful pair of purple eyes. soon their memory about their Princess flashing back, they knew those eyes, that beautiful face, that sweet smile.

"Let’s go home now" Lory’s voice etched with longing.
