The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1344: Cold Blooded

Belgrion was a sub-dragon monster like the Wyvern. Despite its giant body that reached six and a half meters and a wingspan of about fifteen and a half meters, the monster could move very fast and was able to breathe fire from its mouth and could swim in lava quickly and surprise its prey by suddenly jumping out of the lava. Fargo had told Zhao Li Xin everything he needed to know so he could calculate the best way to deal with the creature.

As they climbed higher, the temperature around them grew hotter and hotter, and their steps became a bit heavier as the ground became covered with black sand. Soon after, they were greeted by beasts that looked like sandworms that suddenly leaped out of the sand.

Fargo and Zhao Li Xin drew their swords and then charged in the opposite direction. Even though the beasts were not very strong for someone like Zhao Li Xin and Fargp, however, the beasts’ sheer number that seemed no end was quite annoying.

Fargo became impatient and jumped into the air and punched the ground with all his might. The impact of his hit caused the monsters hiding in the sand to be thrown out of the sand. Then Zhao Li Xin, with a swift movement, cut down all the beasts while still in the air in one sweep.

Fargo patted the sand off his hands then nodded in satisfaction "Good job Zhao Li Xin!"

Zhao Li Xin shakes the remaining blood from his sword while saying, "You can just call me Li Xin"

Fargo’s brows shot up then a big smile spread across his chiseled face "Good job, Li Xin!"

A few hours later they entered a large cave lit by glowing red crystals protruding from the rocks. Zhao Li Xin studied the crystals closely, wondering how he could make use of this material.

"It’s called flamming crystal and is usually used as a side ingredient to make cold-resistant charms or sometimes used as an additional material to make weapons. Flamming crystal itself is not very good to use alone, but it is good as a complement to other ingredients, but because it is easily found in volcanoes and deserts, it is not very valuable on the market, you know, it is like salt, a very important ingredient but very cheap" Fargo explained as they explored the cave.

Zhao Li Xin was intrigued regardless of whether these crystals were valuable or not so he took some of the crystals and stored them in his spatial ring.

Fargo was shocked to see the crystals disappear one by one from Zhao Li Xin’s palm, "Hey, what did you do?"

Zhao Li Xin forgot there are no spatial rings in this world thus he raised his thumb then showed the black ring around his thumb "This is called a spatial ring, I used this to store my things"

Fargo was awed, hence for a moment he couldn’t speak instead he went up to Zhao Li Xin then stared at the spatial ring around his thumb intently, "You mean, you can transfer alot of things inside this ring?"

Zhao Li Xin answered nonchalantly "Yes"

"Oh?!" Fargo could barely contain his excitement, as many people had created something like this but even the best creators and scientists in the world couldn’t figure out how.

"How much can you store in it? is it limited to inanimate objects or can it store living things too?" As he got thrilled, Fargo didn’t realize his voice was getting higher and higher.

"Only my ring can do that," he frankly said.

"You do! wait what do you mean by your ring, is there another ring like this out there?" Fargo’s voice shrill at the thought of such a ring being out there because if it fell into the wrong hands, the consequences would be catastrophic

But Zhao Li Xin’s explanation immediately calmed him down, "Yes, it was Lory’s ring, back then Lory lost most of her gifts, nevertheless she never failed to attract trouble"

"Yes, she has always been a trouble magnet," Fargo had to agree.

Zhao Li Xin chuckles a little "Sadly so, and I don’t feel that Lord Girsha’s protection is enough therefore I made a spatial ring for her just in case but Lory’s ring can only store inanimate objects, and the space in her ring was not so big either"

Fargo massaged his jaw while muttering "Wait...you made it?" he reaffirmed the last sentence.

Zhao Li Xin nodded, "Unfortunately it’s still broken, and I don’t have time to fix it..."

Zhao Li Xin could feel Fargo’s sharp gaze on his face, "You want one? But I need to find the right materials if I want to make it from scratch and I don’t know if there are any suitable materials in this world." She said nonchalantly without realizing the gravity of those words.

"You’ll make it for me?" Fargo pressed his cheeks together tightly to keep himself from squealing like a teenage girl.

Zhao Li Xin suddenly raised his hand and then put his index fingers on his thin lips, "You smelled that? I think we arrived at the beast’s lair" he could smell burning meat mixed with sulfur and metallic scent.

Fargo had completely forgotten that they came here to hunt a beast, immediately he became alert. They stood atop a fairly high slope while looking down at a rocky open space

surrounded by moving flows of boiling lava. Fargo motioned to Zhao Li Xin to follow him quietly as they got closer to Belgrion’s nest they hid behind a large boulder then Fargo pointed towards the lava pool.

"Belgrion likes to soak in lava pools, and the only way to find its location is by making noise." Fargo picked up a pebble next to him and threw it towards the rocks and a few seconds later something big jumped out of the lava and slammed into the spot where the pebble had hit.

A giant reddish-scaled monster landed on the rock surface the beast appeared to be annoyed then spread its wings and let out a deafening roar that shook the entire cave. The monster’s fiery eyes scanned the area around it as it searched for the perpetrator who disturbed its rest.

"Well Li Xin, that is Belgrion" Fargo whispered with a wide grin.

"Bigger than I thought" Zhao Li Xin’s expression remained impassive as usual much to Fargo’s disappointment.

"I know, so what’s your plan?" Fargo asked.

"I will kill it," Zhao Li Xin gave an uncomplicated answer.

The corner of Fargo’s lips twitched slightly, "I know, I mean how are you going to subdue the beast, do you have any idea?"

Zhao Li Xin turned his gaze toward the giant beast and for a few seconds he stared at it silently after that he replied in laid laid-back manner, "No, nothing has come up yet"

Fargo wanted to cry, why was the husband and wife attitude so alike, was that why they became a couple, "Do you need my help?" he was starting to get worried now.

Zhao Li Xin was touched by Fargo’s sincere offer which ultimately made Zhao Li Xin understand why Lory always praised Fargo as a ’Big softy’

"Alright, if you don’t mind... can you collect the plants and insects that live here around this place like that flower that turned out to be an insect, when I touched it the insect spread and flew away, those creatures are very interesting, can you catch them?"

"You mean, the Annemonite?" Fargo rubbed his temples.

"Oh, is that what it’s called?" Zhao Li Xin showed a rare enthusiast on his brooding face, but that didn’t make Fargo happy.

"That’s not what I meant Li Xin..."

"Oh, that’s very rude of me, I apologize" There was a hint of disappointment in Zhao Li Xin’s eyes as he lowered his head.

Fargo felt his conscience prick, somehow he felt guilty. Fargo scratched his head in frustration, "Alright, I’ll collect as much Annemonite as you want, you don’t need my help against Belgrion, right?"

Zhao Li Xin’s onyx eyes immediately lit up with joy, "Yes, I hope it’s not too much trouble for you. I truly owe you a favor." He cupped his fists and bowed his head gracefully.

’Well, that’s not so bad’ Zhao Li Xin’s courtesy successfully improved Fargo’s mood.

He looked at Belgrion and then Zhao Li Xin in turn, he thought there was no harm in letting Zhao Li Xin fight alone so he could gauge the extent of Zhao Li Xin’s abilities, after all, Zhao Li Xin was already part of the royal family.

’Ah, whatever’ Fargo caved in.

"Okay, have fun then, if you are in trouble just yell!" Fargo waved his hands as he went away to gather the stuffed Zhao Li Xin wanted.
