The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1375: Under Surveillance

After receiving new information from the Hamilton family, Noxcra agents immediately passed the information to the Archknights. Since Sean Lockwood’s investigation task were assigned to Clift, it was his job to follow up on the information.

Clift had indeed arrived in Eagle Rock City a few days ago, but did not immediately meet with the Hamilton family because of his cautious nature, he decided to monitor the situation around the Hamilton family first.

In a fancy restaurant, Clift disguises himself as an office worker. He changes his hair color to a common dark brown then he changes his healthy brown skin into a pale white skin mimicking an office worker who rarely exposed to the sun.

He adds thick glasses to make him look nerdy and plain then pretends to be uncomfortable as if he doesn’t belong in this upscale restaurant.

Every now and then would he looks up then turns towards the door behind him as if he is waiting for someone, then he sighs and adjusts his thick-rimmed glasses, and lowers his head back to his tablet. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Clift’s disguise involves not only appearance but also behavior and attitude. This is a basic training taught to every Noxcra agent including Lory and Lucas to avoid attention and deceive the enemy.

From the cheap suit he was wearing, his awkward movements, and his nearly empty coffee cup, one would not doubt that he must be an ordinary office worker who was probably forced to come to this place to serve his boss or wait for his clients.

A person like him was not uncommon in a place like this, no one questioned his strange behavior because people assumed he must not used to a high-end place like this and eventually people would ignore him, even the waiters would stop paying attention to him since he was not a potential customer, anyway. Before long he became invisible and no one would notice or remember him.

Suddenly a tall, big man wearing a white shirt and expensive-looking khaki pants entered the restaurant, but he covered his face with a mask and a flat cap so it was difficult to recognize him other than his platinum blonde hair.

However judging from his stylish outfit, posture, and demeanor the trained employee of the restaurant could guess he must be someone famous, and immediately they attitude changed.

’The target is to enter the location’

Clift got a notification from his earpiece and then he glanced at the mirror before him that reflected the situation behind him, then without changing his expression he typed on his tablet: ’Red Fox starts moving’

The platinum blonde man was greeted by a beautiful waitress who smiled kindly and then courteously led him to the empty space at the second floor.

"Would you like to order sir" the female waitress asked politely.

The man then took off his mask, and soon his handsome face become full display. "Just give me your best red wine,"

The waiter’s eyes lit up when he recognized the mysterious man, and soon his smile became even more enthusiastic. "Right away, Mr. Lockwood.

Clift glanced up at the second floor, then tapped his tablet lightly and a few seconds later footage of the second floor from several angles appeared. A few minutes later the waitress appeared with red wine and a crystal bottle.

’POP’

The sound of a wine bottle being opened was heard then he poured the red wine gently into a crystal glass.

"Please enjoy your wine, sir," the waiter said with a bright smile, no one noticed his finger nimbly reach under the table.

"Thank you," Sean swirled the glass slowly.

Clift not only could hear their conversation he also could see the whole second floor, feeling satisfied he took a sip of his cold coffee then typed on his tablet.

’Everything loud and clear, good job Red Fox’

The waitress is actually a Noxcra agent, glanced at the small horse statue across the large mirror, no one would know there was a small camera on the Horse’s statue.

Coincidently the walls on the second floor were decorated with a few big mirrors to make the room wider and brighter. Therefore she only needed to position the statue in a certain direction and then take advantage of the mirror reflection she would able to capture the image on the second floor from every angle.

What she couldn’t calculate was where she must place the bugs to listen to their conversation, but after knowing where the target sat she only needed to stick the bugs under the table and her boss could hear their target’s conversation clearly, after successfully carrying out her task, she went down the stairs with a faint smile on her face.

Suddenly his phone vibrated. Clift’s attention was taken aback to his phone. Only a few people knew his number, that’s why he didn’t dare to ignore it.

Clift checked his phone and it turned out to be a message from a smiling devil meaning Fredhardt, he said: ’Lockwood might work for the SAINT organization. Find out which part of the organization he works for’

Clift typed on his phone ’Where did you get the source from?"

The smiling devil replied "Hamilton"

Clift did not ask further, since it was from Hamilton, he would believe it. Not because Clift trusted the Hamilton family, but because Lory trusted them.

He did not know if it was hereditary or what, but Lory and Lucas had a knack for judging people’s characters, Hence, nine out of ten, they were never wrong.

Nevertheless, he needed to confirm whether the information was legit or not, because if it was true, undoubtedly it would be valuable information for them. Suddenly a message appeared on his tablet

’Second target arrives and he’s not alone’

Not long after a tall dark-skinned man with short black hair wearing an expensive dark blue suit entered the room, he was wearing sunglasses and a face mask so it was not easy to determine his appearance but from the look of it, he looked very attractive.

Meanwhile, the woman following him from behind was not wearing any disguise at least at first glance, but it was unknown whether she used a charm or potion to change her appearance and avoid detection, just like him.

The woman had straight blonde hair that fell over her shoulders, she wore heavy smokey eye makeup that made it hard to tell her true eye shape, but she had an alluring face and a tall, curvaceous body that she proudly displayed in a short dark velvet dress and knee-length boots that made her legs look even longer.

Her feisty looks attracted the attention of men and women, especially the men, their eyes were unabashedly fixed on her until her figure disappeared on the second floor.

Clift examined the woman’s face feeling curious about her real identity. Clift turned to his tablet then zoomed on her face and typed.

’Find out who she is’

Clift leaned back in his chair and watched the woman join Sean Lockwood’s table, they seemed to know each other. Once they were seated, the dark-skinned man removed his mask and Clift immediately recognized the man as Andreas Brenn who also came from the same celebrity circle as Sean Lockwood, well this was no surprise, everyone knew they were close friends.

"Hi Luce, I didn’t expect you to come" Sean raised his glass as he greeted her with a derisive tone.

The corners of his lips curled into a cynical smile, as if she was used to it, meanwhile, Andreas ignored their small banter and called the waiter to order drinks. Once he placed his order he started the conversation.

"So what is your important news" Andreas said.

"So, what’s your big news?" Andreas said.

Sean took a sip of his wine and said, "Hugo Hamilton finally opened up. He said he knows where Ethan might be, so our guess is right they did contact each other."

Luce and Andreas looked at Sean in surprise because they had been trying to find Ethan for a long time.

"It’s about time, I thought you would need that weird drug from Aeon to seduce the girl." Luce mocked Sean openly.

"Hey, don’t underestimate me. She’s just a little girl, okay? Do you think she can resist my irresistible charm?" Sean said arrogantly.

Hearing Sean’s shameless boasting, Andreas rolled his eyes, he wondered who was so anxious a few weeks ago after his advances were rejected several times. If it weren’t for Lilliane Hamilton’s sudden change in attitude, Sean would have definitely used those untested drugs to get Lilliane Hamilton.

On the other hand, Clift was shocked to hear what they were going to do to Lilliane Hamilton. He heard about a new drug made by Aeon that is used like perfume.

When the target is exposed to it, they would feel a strong attraction to the person who had the scent, and like drugs, this would affect the victim little by little but rapidly until the target becomes obsessed with the person who used the perfume.

As far as he knew, this drug was still in the experimental stage and because of its effects on the recipient, it could cause permanent hallucinations that led to insanity. Because of the severity of the effects, it was feared that it could raise suspicion if it was used on high targets which is why the drug was not allowed to be used.

Clift couldn’t imagine what would happen to Lily if she were exposed to this drug, she had just been bewitched by Ronald Augburn’s charm, it would be terrible if she were end up being tricked again by a man.

Luckily Lily managed to avoid this horrible situation if not Lory would...pissed. Cliff sighed in relief knowing that a major problem had been avoided.

"So what’s your plan?" Andreas asked.

"Okay..." Sean put down his glass and straightened his back as he spoke in a serious tone. "As we suspected, Hamilton didn’t have a good opinion of S.A.I.N.T. because of Ethan’s past, but now they’re cornered and they would accept help from anyone, even the organization that let them down in the past."

Luce looked at him questioningly. "You mean you want the organization to help them to find Ethan Hamilton?"

"Do you have a better idea than working with the Hamiltons?" Sean spread his arms and shrugged.

"How do we know Ethan hasn’t told his family about the organization’s involvement in all of this?" Andreas expressed his concern.

Sean paused and said, "We don’t know, maybe he told his family, maybe he didn’t, whatever it is it’s worth risking it."

Their conversation was suddenly interrupted when the waiter came to take their order.

After the waiter left, Luce took a sip of her tea and said, "I have to agree with him on this one."

"That’s rare..." Sean teased.

Luce glared at him, "Just don’t get used to it."

"...do you think it’s worth it? it feels like a trap for me" Andreas still felt doubtful.

Luce and Sean were silent, and the air around them felt very heavy. Sean took a deep breath, leaned forward, and then all his previous playful demeanor ceased: "We have no choice. The plan is almost ripe, and we need Ethan to complete the mana control device. Only then will our victory be assured." He looked at Luce and Andreas alternately.

"I think the device is complete. I thought we tested it on the World Guild associate members and the results were good?" Andreas leaned back comfortably in his chair, but his expression hardened.

"Yes, but the spear can only control less than fifty people and its range is also limited...therefore we need Ethan Hamilton" Sean’s voice hint with dissapointment as he pour himself another glass of wine,

Clift subconciously clenched his jaw. What exactly did Ethan Hamilton do that made them fix on him seemed like he had to ask Ethan again about this.

Clift took his cell phone and messaged Fredhardt about the information he received. They need to know what that spear means.
