The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 5: Rescued
Chapter 5 - Rescued
Violet ran wherever her legs carried her, losing a sense of direction. Her breathing grew heavy, and her body begged her to halt. However, she knew couldn't let herself falter as the monsters were out there to capture her.
Beads of sweat flowed down her cheek while the anxiety made her body go cold. The extended branches scraped against her body, and she stumbled multiple times.
"There you are."
A voice behind her sounded.
Alarms went off in her head when she noticed the looming figure in front of her, approaching steadily. Panic flashed through her face when she looked back only to find a cliff.
Watching the distance between them shorten, Violet had no choice but to take the leap without a second more to waste, letting the gravity pull her downwards.
Once Violet was out of sight, another werewolf came and questioned, "Did you find her?"
The man standing there shook his head and replied, "She went in the other direction."
'I hope you make it out alive, Luna.'

"Alpha! Alpha! Hey, Sylas!" A man called, chasing after an imposing figure.
This made the pair of steely blue eyes stare back him, carrying an air of intimidation. He buttoned his white shirt, covering up his well defined and muscular body.
The man nervously smiled and raised his hand. "I am sorry, Alpha, alright?"
Sylas's lips were pulled into a thin line, and he gave him no response as he carried on forward. Although frustrated by the man's cold attitude, Lucas was used to it and caught up to him.
"Are you really not going to find that woman? You said that it was strange. Maybe both of you are fated," Lucas excitedly stated.
Sylas's eyes once again fell on him, this time a shade darker than before, conveying his displeasure. The tension in the air was palpable, and Lucas didn't dare to push the matter further.
In order to lighten up the atmosphere, Lucas's eyes wandered around, searching for a topic when the body washed on board by the flowing river fell into his eyes.
"A corpse?" he enunciated.
Then, taking a step forward to observe, he realized that it was a young woman. Although soft, the breathing indicated signs of life.
"She is still alive," Lucas commented.
"Are you leaving?" Sylas asked, sounding slightly impatient and not caring about the woman.
There was a little hesitation within Lucas, but he knew that Sylas was cold-blooded, and there was nothing he despised more than getting in trouble.
Lucas sighed, following after Sylas.
When Sylas was about to leave, a faint scent of jasmine floated into his senses, catching him off guard. He turned his head and took a glance at the girl, lying their helpless and on her last breath.
Sylas closed his eyes for a second before ordering, "Bring her over."
"Eh? What did you say, Alpha?" Lucas's eyes widened, taken aback.

Violet laid on the bed. All her wounds were being disinfected and bandaged by a doctor. Even though her body was cleaned up and her clothing was changed to a new one, her state was still frightening.
Propping his cheeks on his palm, Lucas voiced out his doubt, "Alpha was being weird today. Why do you think he brought her here? I don't think he was ever this generous to a stranger."
The woman, Lydia, placed down Violet's hand after done bandaging it. As she carried forward to disinfect the small wounds on Violet's face, she responded, "I am not here to guess about the Alpha's thoughts."
Lucas's narrowed his eyes at Lydia and stood up. Placing his hand around her shoulder, he pulled the woman close to her, disrupting her actions.
"I know you're a boring person, but come on, even you are curious, aren't you?" Lucas probed.
Creases formed between both of her brows, expressing her irritation. "Let go of me."
Instead of releasing her, when Lucas noticed the discomfort on her face, he only leaned closer to her, sticking his body to hers.
"Nope, let me wipe my scent on you. You like it, don't you?"
The next instant a scream left his mouth, immediately letting go of Lydia and jumping back.
"What was that!?" He shouted after registering the sharp, burning pain.
Then, he noticed Lydia holding a syringe, and there was a pale yellow drug in his. With danger written in her brown eyes, she asked silently with them whether or not he dared to come close.
Rubbing his arm, Lucas about to raise his voice at her when he got interrupted.
"Where is this?" a weak feminine voice asked.
As her consciousness returned to her, Violet could hear voices around her, and for a second, her chest tightened, thinking how she was captured back to the pack.
However, as her blurry vision slowly stabilized, she realized that it was an unfamiliar setting.
"Ah, you're awake already. We brought you over to harvest your organs. We checked your condition. Although you're quite battered up, your organs are all alright."
Violet followed the voice to find a blond man standing in front of her. His hair was ruffled, giving him a youthful appearance. However, the malicious grin on his face, coupled with his sinister eyes, tightened her chest.
Although Violet hadn't heard of stories of werewolves being kidnapped and having their organs sold, according to the news, it happened a lot to humans.
Therefore, this shouldn't be too uncommon among the werewolves.
Also, finding a doctor standing beside the blond man made her feel more wary. She tightly gripped on to the bedsheet, bringing it closer to her.
"Really?" Violet slowly asked.
Looking at the cautious expression on Violet's face, Lucas was amused.

Could it be that the injury left her foolish?
Not wanting to dampen the fun, Lucas held back his emotions and solemnly nodded.
"Organs are pretty much in demand in our community, especially those from pretty, young woman like yours. They are quite a delicacy. Some believe that eating them raw, especially re heart, will let them attain immortality."
Hearing that caused Violet to feel a chill travel down her back.
Could it be that she escaped only to end up with her organs being sold?
