The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL]-Chapter 386: Productivity
Chapter 386: Productivity
Thinking that more days meant more time to hide from the world was apparently a big mistake.
Who knew?
Instead, it was as if more days meant more time to work, and more time to toil meant more things to do.
Now, make no mistake—Kyle had always been the productive type. But even he was starting to feel...outpaced.
Because, apparently, one should never underestimate the productivity of people with a grudge.
It was as if the people around him, especially the older ones, were injected with chicken blood when they learned of the approaching expo.
For one, Cece the dwarf had been so fired up, and was unusually antsy because she felt like her friends had been wronged. And so the woman practically swallowed the information she could get from the Materials Handling Training Module to rush to the caves.
Or well, it was probably way easier to learn and note down because she had been gifted a terminal by Luca, who noticed that she didn’t seem to have one.
And what do you know? It was as if the child was after her own heart as the dwarf felt even more fired up than ever. And if she wasn’t currently being observed, Cece would’ve already dug her way straight through the dungeon wall.
Thankfully, the glorified shuttle bus as well as the very expensive ore detector were asked to come with her for aid, and well, monitoring.
At first, they were hesitant, but after realizing what the masters and the host were about to do, the two sentient mechas and one bubbly bit knew what was best for them.
In particular, D-29 wanted to run to the deepest cavern after hearing the word "training."
Now, if training only included the people, then it wouldn’t have been a problem. But the little system heard something horrifying from the lips of the Duchess and decided to run with D-64 to allegedly "babysit."
It was for the best.
And the innocent D-64 thought so too, as the small unit gleefully followed all of them, excited to "play with shiny rocks."
Meanwhile, the Mylor couple had rushed home to get the ball rolling. They knew they had to move fast—very fast. Their shipment would set the pace for Luca’s construction team, and they could not afford to be the bottleneck.
But that was if they could evade all the questions from their son, Owen.
They figured it would be difficult, and so a bribe had to be made to distract the big kid from asking the life, death, and resurrection of his older brother, Ollie.
They had lobster for dinner, which they were given because it was apparently in season, much to their luck. This was a concept related to resource sustainability that they were still getting familiar with.
Not that the people of the Empire had never practiced it, but because it wasn’t logical to do this in this current era.
In lands that could face the threat of contamination every day, leaving resources that would only feed corruption wasn’t something that people could stomach.
And it was practically why both humans and corruption were razing planets upon planets in a bid to see who could access the resources faster.
Then wasn’t that just a lose-lose situation?
Definitely so. But could they really blame the humans who had been left with no option?
Not really.
However, that was before all this. And now that they knew about the possibility of conservation and sustainability, they’d be guilty if they ignored it.
And so, on top of the lessons on spiritual cultivation that they were all encouraged to learn, the Marquis was planning on starting his own backyard vegetable garden in Luca’s space.
Maybe like this, they wouldn’t have to rely too much on the busy young lads for food.
Also, what do you know? They were given WCP for contributing to the Aquaponics Complex. The businessman was just surprised to see people’s competitiveness in obtaining limited-quantity goods. And before he knew it, the nobleman who normally didn’t have issues buying in billions was now sweating bullets trying to win a single jar of chili flakes.
But he couldn’t get it.
And he really would’ve been one of those who lamented life if not for his wife, who seemed to have been built for this very moment, snagging a bottle of chili flakes as a show of her handspeed.
But all this was only thanks to Luca, who made it possible to get something like this in the first place.
Honestly, if there was anyone whom people worried about, it would be the heir whose to-do list was as tall as the towering prince.
First, and thankfully marked done already, was to check on the people who had used the manuals to see if there had been any other effects they needed to be worried about.
Next, he had to consider how they could actually test whether someone was nearing a breakthrough when the machines of today weren’t really created with that in mind.
A Spirit Testing Stone.
The elders suggested it, and it cost the money-grubber 50,000 CP to have one in the Dungeon-Linked Space so that people could occasionally test themselves, especially after everyone raced to practice cultivation.
Honestly, Luca had been hesitant to consider improving everyone’s spiritual abilities after what happened to Terrence and Ollie.
While he knows that it would help a lot of people, the risk was also just as great. But he was surprised because more and more people approached him asking if they could learn the techniques.
They weren’t even looking for manuals as they figured they’d have to win those as rewards, but the people were actively looking for ways to improve after learning that it was actually a possibility.
So, the surprised heir who asked for Xavier’s opinion was consoled as he heard why humans managed to survive up to this point.
"Much weaker, smaller, slower. We have always had the highest risk of being wiped out. But we’ve survived because of resilience and the willingness to adapt," said the prince, who looked towards the people training in the arena.
"I think by now they all know about the risks. But every fight is a risk in itself..."
"But if one day, you find out that there is a chance at even improving their chances for every single fight, then who wouldn’t take it?" He looked at Luca, who was also in deep contemplation.
"Also, didn’t you take the same risk? Even greater risks, in fact. Wasn’t that because you wanted to live, too?"
Yeah.
He wanted to live too.
Luca wanted to live so desperately that he almost got himself killed so many times just to do so.
How ironic.
But even more so now.
Because now, he was more than just desperate. He felt like he’d be so stubborn he’d try to do everything in his power to survive.
So, did he really have the right to stop them when they’re this determined?
Not really.
But he could try to minimize the risks.
And so the golden-eyed boy hightailed it toward the elders to ask for guidance.
And what a confusing learning session that was.
For some reason, Luca felt like it would be much easier to learn how to build another kind of biomecha than to figure out what the Elders were saying.
If only he knew how much better he’d done than Kyle, who, according to the Laws of Heaven, had to face a greater knowledge barrier due to their cultivation level differences.
After all, the beings of the higher realms couldn’t just be going down to the lowest realms to create random deities, could they?
But they could however, increase the chances of everyone’s survival by giving out as much aid as the heavens would allow.
It was just that, hopefully, someone would be able to understand their philosophical gibberish. Because of all the people they could possibly enlighten, this realm’s forefront cultivator was still having issues with the words "sleeping together."
