The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 299: Convincing Amara
Soon, the walls were decimated, and even the castle itself had so many cracks that they could practically push it apart.
I wonder... who will kill me? Amara or Delta, Neraxis mused, fully accepting his fate.
He stepped forward while the others were still contemplating what to do and then with a simple gesture pushed the wall, making it collapse onto itself and creating a path.
Neraxis whistled in amusement as he kicked away the rubble and stepped inside, glancing around.
Surprisingly, it was the throne room, and he could see two people.
Amara, who had already brandished her sword, and Eris, who had drawn back her bow, ready to fire at any moment.
"Why have you come?" Amara asked calmly. "Is it not enough that you already killed most of my members?"
"Now now, don't be hasty," Neraxis said, waving his arms around. "We're on strict orders to deal with you, and while I do understand you think we have a choice, we actually don't."
He said this with full confidence since not many could hear him. However, the people were slowly marching toward the castle, so he had to make this fast.
"Amara, I'm not from this world, and I'm undergoing a trial. I need you to run away and take Eris with you," Neraxis said sternly.
She simply scoffed. "Run away and leave my home? What would you do in my situation?"
"Leave," Neraxis stated. "I would leave, because the alternative would be my death."
"This fucker really is pissing me off, Amara. Can I shoot him?" Eris chimed in.
And despite their somewhat modest conversation, Amara gave her the go-ahead.
In the very next moment, an arrow flew through the air, aimed straight at his neck. Just as it was about to make contact, Neraxis simply leaned in and kicked off the ground.
He broke the arrow in the blink of an eye, and then he arrived before the surprised Eris.
However, before she could retaliate, Neraxis twisted his heel and kicked her straight in the abdomen, sending her flying straight toward the throne.
She landed right on it and vomited blood as she glanced at Amara with an urgent and wary look. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"You've gotten stronger since the last time we met," Amara remarked.
"We've met before?" Neraxis asked, puzzled.
"Of course." Amara nodded. "Back when this organization was in the beginning stages, I sent you an invite online. However, you rejected it."
"Huh?" Neraxis scoffed. "You think an online message is a good invitation? Seriously?"
She shrugged. "I couldn't approach you since you were being watched by the Eternal Night. If I had tried doing that, then I would've gotten you killed."
"And yet, that was probably one of the biggest mistakes you've made, isn't that right?" Neraxis asked, amused. "Then again, you can take it up with this world's Neraxis after I'm gone."
Amara's brows furrowed, yet just as she was about to speak, he interjected.
"In my world, I joined the Obscura. In fact, I've gone on many missions of yours—some of which were secret, while the others, not so much," Neraxis said.
But it was clear she didn't believe him, so he struck the nail in the coffin.
"Delta guided me many times—she even trained me. I've learned a swordsmanship technique from her that I used for a whole year," Neraxis added. "It's funny, really. I never knew I would arrive in this weird timeline. Frankly, I don't even know if you're real. Probably not."
Amara stared in silence before finally speaking up.
"No one knows about Delta."
Neraxis nodded. "I do. She's your mother. Or rather... was? I don't know how that relationship of yours works, if I'm being honest."
After all, Amara was the clone of Delta's dead daughter, who was killed by the Eternal Sin.
Finally, that seemed to spark a surprised light in her eyes as she started approaching him.
Yet before she could reach him, a large javelin made of stone flew in. It belonged to Kyle, surprisingly.
"Oi, you good, man?" he called out. "I wouldn't want some bitch killing you. I said I'd do it myself, yeah?"
Neraxis ignored him as he turned toward Amara, who had simply caught the javelin and then broke it in two.
"Listen..." he trailed off, his voice falling to a low whisper. "Run away for now or tell Delta to come out. Either way, Valthor is not going to give up, so let's talk later, yeah?"
"But how can I trust you?" Amara asked in a shaky voice. "For all I know, you managed to somehow access my mind and get that intel..."
Neraxis chuckled. "Would the person who entered your mind also know you're dogshit at cooking?"
"..." Amara's brows twitched. "No, I'm not."
"Keep telling yourself that." Neraxis shrugged, glancing behind at the army of people that were slowly making their way inside.
"Tick tock. You only have a few seconds before I'm forced to go all out. So, for Eris's sake and ours, please leave," Neraxis pleaded one last time.
She obviously seemed reluctant. It was her home—her place of operations for God knew how long.
And yet, a complete stranger who knew everything about her told her to leave her home behind.
It was unbelievable.
Even so, it seemed like there were some restrictions as to why she couldn't exactly call Delta.
Therefore, with a low nod toward him, Amara dashed to Eris, who was lying in her own pool of blood on the throne. Then, to everyone's surprise, she simply picked Eris up and, with her sword, created a small crack in the air before walking through it.
Soon, the crack closed behind them, and the last look he received from Amara was one of trust.
Or more like belief. She believed he wasn't bullshitting this entire time.
That's one thing down... Neraxis thought with a sigh.
He could follow the Astral Tower's objective, but what was the point?
Living someone else's life as a shadow was not his style.
Therefore, what if he did the opposite of what the trial asked him to do?
Neraxis smirked as he watched the soldiers swarm around the throne room, darting around and looking for any trace of Amara.
But she was gone without a trace.
And Neraxis?
I guess it's time to make this timeline as close as possible to mine...
