The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 314: Wandering Through The Floating City
It took them a few minutes to arrive at the city, and to his surprise, the guards didn't even bat an eye at their appearance, almost like their presence was welcomed, even if they were suspicious.
Nonetheless, it seemed like Elena knew a bit more about this place than he did.
"This is the Floating City of Alyon, I think," she commented. "It moves around the world with no end in sight. I guess it just happened to stop here. We're really lucky."
"Do people actually live in this place?" Neraxis asked, glancing around and noticing their particularly well-kept appearances. "I mean... isn't it limiting to be living on something like this?"
"Not at all." Elena shook her head. "If anything, I believe their freedom is heightened because they can leave whenever they want. The civilians have these weird tickets where, if they rip them apart, they are able to teleport back to this place."
Neraxis raised a brow. This is pretty advanced.
"Oh, by that I mean there's going to be at least double the people that are going to show up in just a few hours. From what I recall, the Floating City of Alyon moves to a new location every 12 hours. I don't know how long it's been here, but if I were to make an estimate by looking at the sun, then it's going to leave again in 3 hours," Elena added as she took the lead.
"I know a very nice place, so follow me."
Neraxis nodded absentmindedly and followed suit.
In the meantime, he decided to have a chat with Amara and Eris.
Especially Eris, who still seemed to glare at him with hatred.
"Hey." Neraxis waved. "Do you think we can put our first meeting behind us?"
"Eat shit," Eris replied with a scoff. "I don't like pretty boys, and I definitely don't like pretty boys who think they can get anything because they're pretty."
That's Eris, alright. Neraxis sighed and pushed his hair back to piss her off.
And from her twitching brows, he knew it worked.
"Anyways... Amara." Neraxis moved on. "What happened to Delta?"
"She's alive, but she's not exactly kicking," Amara replied flatly. "She had a few problems before, and after you... or I guess, the previous you, managed to assist a certain someone, she lost a decent portion of her powers trying to seal him away."
"The Eternal Sin?" Neraxis asked, causing Amara's brows to furrow.
"You know about him?"
He nodded. "It's not a big secret where I'm from. If anything, you already knew, and so did Delta. A few people know too, but it's not that important right now."
"What about me?" Eris chimed in. "Do we at least have trust in that world of yours?"
"It's not a matter of trust, Eris," Neraxis said, narrowing his eyes. "But I did get you free ice cream for a very long time."
The moment his words fell, she flinched, her eyes widening.
"F-Fuck..."
"Yeah, you're a bit tamer in my timeline, you could say." Neraxis chuckled. "Anyhow, I know where the Eternal Sin is hidden... or I guess, was hidden."
"What do you mean?" Amara's brows furrowed. "He's been killed with the help of Delta."
"Not exactly." Neraxis shook his head. "When I went into the headquarters of the Eternal Night, I saw him. He was definitely fucked up, but he sat on his own and even managed to perform his stupid ritual."
Following that, Neraxis recalled everything he had encountered while at the base, and even the fact that the Eternal Night's members he had killed in the Obscura headquarters were likely alive.
It was an annoying group that seemed like no matter how many he killed, they'd always come back again.
However, there had to be a way—one he didn't know of yet.
Nonetheless, once he finished with his explanation, Amara let out a sigh as she suddenly stopped and began stomping the ground.
It was an immature reaction, but he knew she wasn't exactly filtered that way.
After all, she was basically a shadow of Delta's actual daughter.
"Damn it!" Amara exclaimed. "So many wasted resources, even Delta is injured... and yet he still lives?"
"Calm down, big tits," Eris chimed in. "The more you worry yourself about stuff like this, the less you can do... or something, I forgot the phrase."
The casual mediator. Even if her words weren't very effective, they managed to snap Amara out of it long enough for her to understand one crucial detail.
"Wait..." Amara trailed off, her eyes widening. "Since it's everyone above D+ rank, then he's alive, right?"
"I'd say so." Neraxis nodded. "Delta should be here too somewhere. Probably healed."
It seemed like his words washed over her like a wave of relief, even if the former news wasn't so great.
However, that gave her enough reason to continue, since now, she could attempt to kill the Eternal Sin in this new place where everyone started fresh.
"Neraxis, I have one last question for you," Amara said, getting his attention. "Which side are you on?"
"What do you mean?"
"Are you on the Eternal Sin's side, or are you on Obscura's side? I have no idea how you're connected with the others, however, I know for a fact that you and him are connected," she explained.
As much as he wanted to make this question difficult, it really wasn't.
"I want to kill the Eternal Sin as much as any other person. And if that puts me on your side, then that's that," Neraxis replied flatly.
Amara stared at him for a few moments, unflinching.
Then she slowly nodded and continued following after Elena.
Eris did the same, yet he could still see the jealousy still lingering from his ice cream comment.
Either way, Neraxis followed after Elena as well.
The streets were bustling more than he expected, and the number of people present was no joke either.
So this is a beginner city then? Or maybe intermediate... Neraxis trailed off, recalling his childhood gaming days.
Elena did mention that the city travels everywhere, so he was not sure of the next area.
They suddenly halted, and the moment they did, a particular store entered their sights.
However, Neraxis wasn't so amused as his brow furrowed.
"...Seriously?"
