The Strongest Master Venturing Urban-Chapter 216: Eccentric Woman
Chapter 216: Chapter 216: Eccentric Woman
When everything was released, Chen Bin collapsed next to Zhao Xinmei, panting heavily.
After this intense battle, the bed was already a complete mess.
Zhao Xinmei slowly sat up after resting for a long time.
She said flatly, "Are you finally done causing trouble now?"
Hearing such cold words, Chen Bin felt a sharp pain in his chest.
He hadn’t expected that despite his efforts, he still couldn’t open Zhao Xinmei’s heart.
The latter didn’t wait for Chen Bin’s response. After getting off the bed, she leaned against the wall, limping her way toward the bathroom.
Not long after, the sound of the shower echoed from within.
Chen Bin sat on the bed, inhaling the lingering indulgent scent around him, feeling like something was missing.
He sighed, got dressed, and walked out of the bedroom.
Thinking back to when he came home earlier—Zhao Xinmei had been cooking.
He hurriedly ran into the kitchen, where the food had already been prepared, but it was ice cold.
He quickly reheated everything in the microwave and made a bowl of noodles.
When Zhao Xinmei finished her shower and came out of the bathroom, she saw Chen Bin sitting at the dining table.
Instinctively frowning, she asked irritably, "What do you want again?"
Chen Bin quickly got up and tried to assist her. "Honey, you haven’t eaten yet. I..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Zhao Xinmei cut him off directly.
"I’m your mom now!"
It was then that Chen Bin understood the meaning of what she had said on the bed earlier.
A wife in bed, a mother out of bed.
This shift in identity felt fresh and thrilling to him.
Taking a deep breath, Chen Bin smiled ingratiatingly.
"Mom, I know I was wrong. You should eat something."
With a cold laugh, Zhao Xinmei stared straight at Chen Bin.
"Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten what I said before? As long as you dare to misbehave, I’ll fast. Last time, I fasted for a day; this time, I’m prepared to fast for two days."
Hearing this, Chen Bin instantly panicked.
"Mom, two days without eating—your body won’t be able to handle it. How about eating a little first? I promise not to repeat this."
"Not to repeat? I don’t believe that nonsense! If you’re not afraid of starving me to death, just keep on behaving recklessly!"
As she spoke, Zhao Xinmei headed straight for the bedroom.
Seeing her resolute expression, Chen Bin hurriedly said, "Then at least for the sake of the baby, you should eat something?"
"This..."
Zhao Xinmei froze in her tracks, momentarily at a loss.
Although she was a career-driven woman, her greatest wish was to marry and raise children.
Now that Wang Jun had passed away, the baby in her womb was the most important person in her life.
She couldn’t bear any harm coming to the child.
Sighing, Zhao Xinmei finally, with Chen Bin’s help, slowly sat at the dining table.
Seeing only one bowl of rice, she asked doubtfully, "Aren’t you eating?"
"I already ate at He Chaoping’s before I came back."
Nodding slightly, Zhao Xinmei didn’t ask further and quietly started eating.
Taking advantage of the gap, Chen Bin went to the bathroom to take a shower.
When he finished, Zhao Xinmei was still eating slowly and carefully.
Then, Chen Bin sat across from her and started sharing everything that had happened recently in Qinghe Town.
Although she didn’t voice any opinions, Zhao Xinmei listened very attentively.
After finishing her meal, Chen Bin took the initiative to clean up the remnants.
Watching his busy figure, Zhao Xinmei murmured softly, "If we could always be like this, it wouldn’t be so bad."
After washing the dishes, Chen Bin voluntarily suggested, "Mom, let’s sleep in the small bedroom tonight. Your bed’s a bit messy; I’ll clean it up tomorrow."
Zhao Xinmei didn’t respond and simply headed toward the master bedroom by herself.
After seeing the chaotic scene inside, she ultimately walked into the small bedroom.
Once lying in bed, Zhao Xinmei seemed still uneasy and warned expressionlessly, "You’d better behave yourself. Otherwise, I won’t go easy on you!"
"Alright, alright, just relax. Early to bed, early to rise—it’s good for your health."
Zhao Xinmei didn’t speak again, turning her back to him as she lay on her side.
Smelling her familiar fragrance, Chen Bin felt a tickle in his heart.
Unable to resist, he whispered softly, "Mom, can I hold you while we sleep?"
Zhao Xinmei didn’t respond, seemingly already asleep.
Chen Bin, however, knew in his heart: not refusing meant implicit consent.
He slowly scooted closer, gently wrapping his arms around Zhao Xinmei from behind.
The warmth of her supple body, combined with the lingering scent of her shower gel, was incredibly comforting.
Closing his eyes, Chen Bin whispered softly, "Mom, give me a little more time. When I’m strong enough, I’ll take you and the baby to a city where no one knows us. By then, I promise I’ll marry you with all the pomp and grandeur you deserve."
Zhao Xinmei seemed deeply asleep, showing no reaction to his words.
Only a single tear rolled down the corner of her eye, glimmering under the moonlight.
When the next morning arrived, Zhao Xinmei was nowhere in sight.
Chen Bin sent her a message on WeChat, and she replied, saying she would stay at Li Mengying’s house for the night.
Realizing Zhao Xinmei was purposely avoiding him again, Chen Bin could only sigh.
He got up and started tidying the mess in the master bedroom.
After hanging the sheets and blankets out on the balcony to dry, Xu Tai called.
"Get ready—today at noon, meet with Cao Chenxi at Tianhai Hotel."
"Why so soon?"
Hearing the surprise in Chen Bin’s voice, Xu Tai’s tone immediately carried a trace of anger.
"Didn’t you ask me to arrange for you two to meet during New Year’s? What, now you’re backing out suddenly?"
"No, I just didn’t process it in the moment."
"Fine, I’ve already booked a private room. I’ll send you the address soon. Perform well when the time comes."
After hanging up, Chen Bin felt deeply conflicted.
The truth was, the only person he wanted to marry in this lifetime was Zhao Xinmei.
But to become the son-in-law of a municipal party secretary would guarantee a smooth climb to success.
"Well, let’s go check it out first."
Talking to himself, Chen Bin headed downstairs toward Tianhai Hotel.
He thought it wouldn’t hurt to make contact with Cao Chenxi and see if he could gain some benefits through Cao Sanjin. He could decide later.
After all, nowadays, many marriages were essentially transactions.
Only by obtaining enough benefits could he live a better life.
Then he could leave this place with Zhao Xinmei, with greater confidence.
Arriving at Tianhai Hotel, Chen Bin reported Xu Tai’s name at the reception desk.
He had been sitting in the private room for about two hours before Cao Chenxi finally arrived.
She was about 175 centimeters tall, broad-shouldered and stout.
Her flesh jiggled with every step she took, making her appearance rather intimidating.
Her looks weren’t bad overall, but her obesity made Chen Bin feel nauseated.
Still, in an effort to maintain gentlemanly behavior, he put on a warm smile.
"You must be Chen Bin?"
After sitting down, Cao Chenxi scanned Chen Bin intensely, her face revealing a hint of excitement.
"Yes, hello, Miss Cao."
Hearing Chen Bin’s slightly magnetic voice, Cao Chenxi nodded again.
Despite her size, deep down she longed for handsome men.
Chen Bin wasn’t only attractive but also carried himself with such poise—he was her type.
"Can you briefly introduce yourself?"
"I’ll be turning 22 after New Year’s. I’m from Tianhai, graduated from Tianhai University, and currently serving as the party secretary of Qinghe Town in Dragon Mountain County."
"What’s your relationship with Xu Tai?"
"He’s my god-sister’s father."
Furrowing her brows slightly, a flash of disdain appeared on Cao Chenxi’s face.
"So Xu Tai is your godfather? He’s really something—first he tried to introduce his son to me, and now his godson. He says it’s about finding me a match, but he’s really just trying to climb the ranks and make money."
Faced with these remarks, Chen Bin didn’t know how to respond. Instead, he changed the subject directly.
"Can you tell me about yourself?"
With a snort, Cao Chenxi looked utterly displeased.
"I don’t think there’s any need for that. You may be my type, but I don’t like Xu Tai—he’s incredibly annoying!"
Her words left Chen Bin stunned.
She kept saying she was satisfied with him, but now, because of Xu Tai, she didn’t want to pursue anything further.
Was she treating marriage like some kind of joke?
Seriously, what a weirdo!
