"You're really telling me you've evolved into a progenitor?" Sir Holloway asked, calming down.

"I'm the progenitor of humans," Damian replied, still sitting on the throne, radiating the overwhelming presence that came with being a progenitor.

Every race has a progenitor, it's just that none of them exist right now, except for the newly risen progenitor of humans, of course.

Each progenitor has their own unique abilities, and as the human progenitor, Damian had developed his own.

Every progenitor gains the right to receive certain knowledge from the universe regarding their role once they ascend.

When Damian became the human progenitor, he too received this knowledge, and only then did he truly realize how significant it was to be a progenitor.

Progenitors are beings who begin a new race or establish a new bloodline within an existing race.

They are considered literal gods to their people and have the potential to become powerhouses within the universe, rivaling gods and other supremely powerful entities, both across the cosmos and within the Tower Realms.

They possess the power to create, to rewrite the genetic code of any humanoid being, and transform them into their own species.

This transformation affects not just the physical body, but also the being's core, soul, and racial essence.

Progenitors hold immense influence over their race.

If a race were to lose its progenitor, the entire race would suffer greatly.

They would lose the providence granted to them by the universe, and without it, the race would inevitably begin the path to extinction.

The rate of procreation would drastically decline, and although the speed of this process may vary from race to race, extinction would be inevitable.

The continuum of a race has great effects on the universe as a whole, because the universe grants each race the providence to continue their existence.

As long as that providence remains, the race lives on.

However, if a progenitor dies and their entire race burns out rapidly over time, they take the providence the universe had invested in them along with them.

This chips away at the overall providence of the universe itself.

If every race were to die out like that, then eventually, even if it takes billions upon billions of years, the universe itself might face extinction.

While that timespan may seem inconsequential to most, to beings like gods, immortals, or other special entities, time can be the difference between life and death.

Gods exist because they draw their energy and life from the universe and the concepts that operate within reality.

If there were no races to uphold those concepts in reality, the universe would begin to die.

And without the universe to draw power and energy from, the gods would also perish.

The same goes for other special beings with immortality or divine powers.

Without the energy they feed on, drawn from space which in turn comes from the universe, they too would eventually die.

You might wonder: if the universe dies, why wouldn't the gods and other immortal beings simply find their way to another universe and feed on its energy?

That could be a solution, but the problem is this.

Every being born in a universe is bound to that universe, including gods and immortals.

So no, they cannot leave this universe for another.

First, it's not allowed by the fundamental laws of existence.

Second, even if they tried to trespass into another universe, the beings of that universe would not tolerate it.

They would kill or imprison the intruder on the spot.

All universes regard one another as threats, nothing more, nothing less.

The universe needs its inhabitants, and all beings within the universe need the universe.

There is no way around this.

That is why the gods were so eager to give Damian whatever resources he needed.

All they asked in return was for his help, if he had any way to solve this growing problem.

And it hadn't even been a day since he had been blessed by the gods, yet he had already become a progenitor.

While skimming through the knowledge he had inherited from the universe, Damian found something peculiar that made him raise an eyebrow.

The Progenitors could create higher-ranked beings of their race, but not lower-ranked than the Progenitors themselves.

Yet, there was no being in the universe capable of creating a Progenitor.

And no being could evolve into a Progenitor on their own either.

To become a Progenitor, one must be granted the right by the will of the universe itself.

If that was really true, then Damian didn't evolve into a Progenitor on his own.

The universe must have played a part in it as well.

But something about that felt strange.

When he evolved, he didn't feel any intervention from the universe.

"Well, I'll ignore this for now," Damian thought.

Since he couldn't find any answers, dwelling on it felt like a waste of time.

There was still much more knowledge he had inherited, especially regarding the Progenitors.

The most important revelation was that he was the first Progenitor to ever exist, and right now, he was the only one.

Just as Damian was absorbing this information, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

A mature woman's voice, soothing yet emanating a powerful presence.

"Come to Thaerris to receive your rewards," the voice said.

This chapter is updated by freēwēbnovel.com.

"Thaerris?" Damian raised an eyebrow.

Thaerris, also known as the World of Spirits.

The world where Damian had forged his own evolutionary path and created the Infinity Essence.

A place that had given him so much, shaping him into what he had become.

And now someone wanted him to return to Thaerris to receive a reward?

"Who could it be?" Damian couldn't help but think of the green-haired woman he met the first time he landed in Thaerris.

"It should be her, right?" Damian narrowed his eyes. "Why is she asking me to meet her? Is she really going to reward me? But for what? Wait... is she even friendly in the first place? What if she wants to harm me?"

Damian started getting paranoid again.

But no one could blame him.

It was just how he was, especially when an unknown being sends a message out of nowhere, offering a mysterious reward for something he didn't even remember doing.

Everything about this felt suspicious, but at the same time, Damian couldn't help but feel intrigued.

Thinking it through, if that woman had any hostile intent, she could have harmed him during their first encounter in Thaerris, or even when he was hunting the elemental spirits.

But she didn't.

She hadn't shown any signs of aggression or ill will.

Since Damian hadn't done anything to provoke her, it was likely she had no harmful intentions now either.

"Should I go to Thaerris?" Logically, Damian didn't want to meet her, but his intuition told him otherwise.

"Maybe I'm being paranoid here… I should at least hear her out," Damian sighed.

While Sir Holloway was still trying to understand what had just happened, Elfie, her brother, Maria, and her seven sisters continued watching Shiru as she evolved inside the cocoon, just as Damian disappeared from the spot.

"He's gone again? I wonder what kind of ridiculous thing he went to do this time…" Maria sighed.

"I don't think anything can top the ridiculousness of becoming a Progenitor…" Sir Holloway replied.

"You all keep talking a great deal about the Progenitors. Why are they so important?" Anneliese, one of Maria's seven sisters, asked with a confused expression.

Her sisters nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, we don't know anything about Progenitors either," Elfie and her brother raised their hands too.

"Here," Sir Holloway said, pulling out a book from his system inventory and handing it to Maria.

"I didn't think I'd need to make a copy. I never expected anyone else to read this, but since you all have caught the eye of the Progenitor, I'll make an exception this time."

They ignored his little speech and eagerly started reading the book.

"It contains many things I've learned about Progenitors, from ancient texts and records. It should be more than enough to give you a better idea of the person Damian has become," Sir Holloway added.

While they were reading, a notification suddenly popped up in front of Sir Lucian Holloway.

[You have received a message from your contractor: Amaya Kuroyami]

Sir Holloway raised an eyebrow. "It's from the Countess… She never contacts me. I wonder what she wants now."

He sighed.

For some reason, he couldn't help but feel this was related to Damian.

"Oh god… things are about to get a whole lot crazier," Sir Holloway muttered, gulping a mouthful of saliva, a growing sense of concern washing over him.

...

Nightingale, The World of Vampires

"Are you really sure about this?" A noble vampire with long, dark black hair and piercing dark eyes asked, her mature figure poised with quiet authority.

She looked at another vampire, one with crimson hair and striking green eyes.

"Yes... this is important," the crimson-haired noble replied.

"Then should I let the other Countesses know about this?" the dark-haired vampire asked.

"Yes," the crimson-haired vampire nodded.

"I still don't think this is a good idea," the black-haired vampire sighed.

"Well, let's find out, shall we?"
