The Tyrant Is A Little Bit Kind-Chapter 40: Returning To Capital 3
Chapter 40: Returning To Capital 3
(Orlax’s POV)
After several hours of continuous driving, we finally arrived at the capital.
I drove the car toward the palace, greeted the guards standing at the gate, and parked the car near the palace entrance.
One of the servants came, took the car keys from me, and went to park it in the garage.
Riana seemed calm and walked confidently, as she had been here often when she was part of the royal guards.
I opened the palace door while Riana followed me, and we were greeted by the gathered servants and maids.
As soon as they saw me enter, curiosity filled their faces, and they all greeted me at once.
"Welcome back, Your Majesty."
"Thank you. You may return to your duties."
After dismissing the servants, I turned my gaze to Alex, who stood before me.
"Alex, you did well in carrying out your duties during my absence."
"Welcome back, Your Majesty. It was my duty."
*"Alex, I want you to assign a maid of Riana’s needs and also guide her to her room."
"Of course. Please follow me, Your Majesty."
After Riana left with Alex, I headed to my room, opened the door, and stepped inside.
I found a blonde woman with honey-colored eyes sitting on the couch, holding a two-year-old girl with blue hair in her arms.
Both of them turned toward me upon seeing me, their expressions shifting.
Sera jumped from Catherine’s lap and ran toward me quickly.
"Papa! Papa!"
Sera clung tightly to my leg as if afraid I would disappear and leave her again.
I placed my hands under her arms, lifted her up, and observed her face and golden eyes.
"Hello, Sera. I missed you."
I held her in my arms for a while, and as I carried her, I sat on the couch opposite Catherine.
"Welcome back, Your Majesty."
"Hello, Lady Catherine. How was taking care of Sera during this time?"
"She’s a smart girl. Perhaps in a few months, she’ll be able to speak fluently."
Catherine kept her gaze on Sera in my arms, a warm smile on her face.
’It seems she loves Sera. That’s good.’
"By the way, Lady Catherine, is Alice here?"
*"Yes, she’s with her father in your office."*
"Alright, I’ll go see her."
I stood up while carrying Sera and headed for the door.
"By the way, Alice is currently angry about what you did, so try to understand her position and don’t get upset with her."
Catherine spoke with concern, worried that I might be annoyed by Alice’s anger and do something rash.
"I understand, Lady Catherine."
I opened my room door, headed to the office, and took a deep breath before entering.
Inside, Armanthor and Alice sat next to each other, discussing something.
Both of them stood up upon seeing me, approached, and greeted me.
"Welcome back, Your Majesty."
"Welcome back, Lax."
"Hello to both of you. Let’s sit."
I sat on a couch opposite the two white-haired individuals, and we remained silent until Armanthor suddenly stood up.
"Ahem, I’ll leave you two to talk alone."
"Yes, thank you. Take Sera with you as well."
After handing him Sera, who was clinging to me, Armanthor left and closed the door behind him.
"Tell me what happened."
Alice spoke in a voice that clearly expressed her anger and frustration.
"Sigh, hold my hand, and you’ll understand everything."
I extended my hand to Alice, who sat to my left, and she held it.
After a few moments, Alice opened her eyes and looked at me anxiously.
"You! When was the last time you slept? You’re in terrible condition." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Alice’s concern warmed my heart, and I held her hand firmly.
"About five days ago. I can’t close my eyes without being haunted by nightmares."
"Let’s go to the hospital. Maybe they can treat you."
Alice started pulling me toward the hospital, but I stopped her and made her sit down again.
"Since when can doctors treat dreams? Forget about it. I’ll find a solution myself. Let’s talk about the more important matter now."
Alice remained silent, seemingly hesitant to speak.
"She came here with you, didn’t she?"
"Yes, she’s in her room now."
"Should we cancel our engagement? Marrying two people will cause many problems."
I held Alice’s hand as soon as I heard those words and looked directly into her eyes.
"You know it’s impossible for me to abandon you. Besides, I’ve already found a solution to the problems you’re talking about. Don’t worry about it."
"If you say so."
"Also, my marriage to Riana is just on paper. There’s nothing between us. She’s different from you, Alice."
"Hehehe, I know. You love me to the point of madness."
"In the end, you’re the only person who truly knows me in this world."
I smiled at Alice, who was happy with my words, and we stared at each other for a while.
"Also, why are you still wearing that black eyepatch? Taking it off makes you look better."
"Do you think so? Alright, I won’t wear it anymore."
I removed the eyepatch from my right eye and tossed it into the trash bin.
I opened my right eye, which was blue—the same color as Alice’s left eye.
"That’s better. Also, I’ll go talk to her for a bit. I want to know what kind of person she is."
"As you wish, but I’ll warn you in advance—she hates me deeply."
"Then why did she want to marry you if she hates you?"
"I don’t know. Maybe for her own interests or perhaps for power."
Alice and I continued talking for a while, and I explained what had happened over the past few days.
"Rainbow Organization? Seriously? Is that their actual name?"
Alice’s lips trembled as she struggled to suppress her laughter upon hearing the ridiculous name.
"No, but that’s what I call them. That’s how they seem to me."
"Lax, even though you’re strong, try to take the necessary precautions. Don’t underestimate them like that."
"Don’t worry, I know I should never underestimate my opponents."
"Since you know that, then that’s good. Now, I’ll go talk to our new Empress for a bit."
Alice smirked sarcastically as she left the office.
Moments later, Armanthor entered the office, and I noticed he wasn’t carrying Sera in his arms, which surprised me.
"Where’s Sera?"
"Your Majesty, she’s..."
"Don’t tell me."
"Yes, she’s outside your office."
I stood up from the couch, passed by Armanthor, who was sighing, and opened the door.
Before me stood two figures facing each other, staring at one another.
"I am Riana, the new Empress. Nice to meet you, Alice Zephyrius."
"It’s an honor to meet you, Your Majesty."
The two shook hands, and Alice froze for a moment as information flooded her mind.
After regaining her senses, she let go of Riana’s hand and looked between me and Riana strangely.
Riana shifted her curious gaze away from Alice and turned to me.
"Riana, do you need something?"
"Yes, you promised to take me to buy a car, so I came here."
I looked at Riana, and to my surprise, she was holding Sera in her arms, and Sera had a happy smile on her face as she hugged Riana tightly.
"Sera?"
"Ah, you mean this girl? When she saw me, she suddenly hugged me and started laughing."
"Hehehe, Mama."
Hearing Sera’s words, I almost fell flat on my face in shock.
"Wait a minute! Sera, what did you say?"
"Mama?"
Hearing the same word come from Sera’s mouth again, I started thinking.
’Could it be that Sera’s mother looks like Riana, so she assumed she was her mother? That’s possible.’
"What! Sera, you’re calling this woman ’Mama’ but not me?"
Alice’s face showed expressions of betrayal, as if her daughter had abandoned her.
"Little girl, I am not your mother."
"No, Mama, your hair is red."
Riana looked helpless upon hearing those words and turned to me.
"Just go along with it. When she grows up, she’ll understand that you’re not her mother."
I sighed, rubbing my head due to the headache.
"Anyway, let’s go to the city and buy you a car."
"I want to come too!"
Alice suddenly jumped from her seat and looked at me with pleading eyes, making it hard for me to refuse her request.
"Alright, come with us."
"Yay! Wait a minute, let me change my clothes."
After Alice quickly left, Riana and I went downstairs and waited at the palace entrance for Alice to arrive.
"This girl is really clinging to me. She refuses to let go."
"Yes, I noticed."
I watched Sera, who was holding onto Riana’s neck with all her strength, refusing to let go.
A few minutes later, I saw Alice coming down the stairs, having changed into a long white dress.
"I didn’t take too long, did I?"
"No, let’s go."
The four of us left the palace, where a large car was waiting for us.
We got into the back seats, with Riana holding Sera on one side and Alice sitting on the other.
"Alright, let’s go."
