The Vastness of Magical Destiny-Chapter 226 - 2 The Secret Door Opens
Chapter 226: Chapter 2: The Secret Door Opens
Chapter 226 -2: The Secret Door Opens
By now, the mages had realized the severity of the situation after recognizing the formidable power of the two skeletal dragons. If they didn’t join forces, it was likely these two One-spiked Flying Dragons would cause unforeseen harm to the group. A succession of Gravity Spells and Dark Bindings were chanted almost simultaneously by the Mysterious Magician and Mihailovich. The Puppet Mage, who seldom used his Magic Wand, promptly raised it high into the air, and out of the swirling black mist came two Skeleton Giant Demons, their massive Dark Scythes gleaming ominously. Following the Puppet Mage’s gestures, the Giant Skeleton Demons, not far from the ceiling of the Passage, roared and madly swept their huge scythes towards the other dodging Skeleton Dragon.

The Skeleton Dragon let out a furious roar. The dual pressures of light and dark made it momentarily appear unable to freely drift, as massive binding forces locked it firmly in that space. Watching as the Dark Knight’s Knight Spear drew dark clouds towards it, the enraged One-spiked Flying Dragon had to struggle fiercely to raise its sturdy tail whip and meet the attack head-on.
With a “clang” of a resounding, forceful collision, even the naked eye could witness the odd distortion ripples slowly spreading through that space, where the force field’s immense vibration caused cracks to appear in the air itself. Vladimir Koff was nearly shaken off his feet, and almost let go of his Knight Spear from the sweep of the tail whip, leaving the Dark Knight feeling a sense of compression in his chest that he hadn’t experienced in a long time. The searing pain in his grip was testament to the injuries both internal and external.
The One-spiked Flying Dragon was also faring badly; the Dark Knight’s full-strength strike was not something just any creature could withstand – especially after the Magic Power restrictions imposed by the mages’ continuous spellcasting. The Knight Spear almost shattered its indestructible Black Bone Whip, and from its wobbly, drunken-like sways in mid-air, it was evident the impact was no light matter.
Beating a dog when it’s down was always Komer’s specialty. As the Mysterious Magician and the Puppet Mage continued to cast spells to bind the opponent’s power, Komer seized the moment to gather his Magic Power, preparing for his move. After the Dark Knight’s powerful blow landed, Komer advanced, facing the gruesome One-spiked Skeleton Dragon alone, a cunning smile on his lips that would have unsettled even a skeleton, “Serpent Dance of the Nine Netherworlds, my heart remains unchanged, Fire Phantom, without order! Transform!”
This time, “Golden Snake Madness” was orders of magnitude more powerful compared to when he had fought Gray Wolf. The high-tier Fire Ring magic, while not Komer’s most advanced arsenal, was the most suitable given his proficiency. Komer chanted three times in one breath, layering the Fire Rings into a Trapezoidal Fortress Fire Tower. With Rebry by his side, continuously casting Acceleration Spells and other support magic, the Fire Tower, after several difficult twists and dodges by the Skeleton Dragon, finally enveloped its target.
Gold rings covered the furiously roaring One-spiked Flying Dragon, Magic Fire refining a diamond-hard will. Under Rebry’s almost inexhaustible support with auxiliary magic, the golden Fire Tower shrank progressively smaller, but the flames it emitted grew more intense. The flame even began to show a cyan-blue hue, indicating a concentration of fire elements to their peak – resulting from Rebry’s continuous spellcasting.
Like cords of fire tightly coiling around it, the violent One-spiked Flying Dragon, in no way subdued by its skeletal transformation, thrashed and rammed wildly in the air. The Gravity and Dark Binding Spells seemed ineffective at this moment, as it became exceedingly agile, desperate to break free from the constraints of the three fire cords. Cyan-blue flames had already spread to every bone of the One-spiked Flying Dragon’s body, the gray-white skeleton emitting grating noises as it burnt in the Magic Fire.
Komer kept stoking the Magic Fire, tighter and tighter with each wave, until the cyan-blue flame nearly turned white. It slowly infiltrated the depths of the One-spiked Flying Dragon’s skeleton, each bone becoming perfect fuel for the flames burning incessantly from the outside in.
Almost at the same time, the two Dark Knights converged on the Skeleton Dragon, which the Magic Fire had left with no recourse but to struggle. The shadowy flames that spewed from their Knight Spears, merging together, then completely encircled, battering the Skeleton Dragon, the sound of countless hits and smashes unreservedly reaching everyone’s ears.
The fine and sharp spike of the One-spiked Flying Dragon, which had hardly had a chance to strike, was reduced to broken bones under the combined assault of three mages and two Dark Knights. Already weakened by the scorching Magic Fire, the skeleton of the Flying Dragon collapsed before hitting the ground, shattering mid-fall. Meanwhile, the two Skeleton Giant Demons entangling another Skeleton Dragon were also severely injured from the wind blades released by the Dragon, hobbling and losing limbs; one was struck in the head by a powerful tail whip from the One-spiked Flying Dragon, exploding on contact. The other Giant Demon’s fate was not much better; after avoiding a swift volley from the Skeleton Dragon’s claws, a side-sweeping tail whip again knocked it down. This time, the Giant Demon was not as lucky, and its spine, already struggling to hold, was shattered, unable to support its body, twisting strangely on the ground before crumbling into a heap of bone fragments.
