The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 348: Paranoid
Chapter 348: Paranoid
The room was splendid, with tall windows, bright lights and a table filled with so much food that it was impossible to finish. This was a royal extravagance.
The sweet aroma of various dishes and rich tea waffled through the air. The food was appetising, but suddenly, the meal became unappetizing.
"Why? Let me guess it’s another plan of yours to make your next escape plan succeed." Cedric sneered; Abrielle’s throat went dry, her head thinking of explanations to use.
"I need to be able to defend myself, Cedric. Is it not better for you to help me than for me to go behind your back to do something crazy?" She replied, Cedric’s jaw clenched. His gold eyes bore into her. She nervously gulped maybe she should not have sounded that way. Her tone was provocative.
A dry chuckle left his throat and he reached out for a cup of water. "You won’t even get the chance Abrielle."
"There is no need to have this reaction. I have apologized multiple times, and I have also realized my mistake, Cedric. The world is big and dangerous for a clueless girl but I deserve to be able to stand up for myself." The words kept on leaving her lips; she hated the way things were, and yet she felt so helpless.
The Von Drakkar family was dangerous whether the plot was involved or not, and now they weren’t controlled by the plot anymore. What were the chances of her surviving?
Abrielle knew she wasn’t the smartest, unlike Cedric and Lucian, who were naturally smart to navigate this world of lies. The truth was that staying with him still wasn’t the safest choice.
"You will be safe as long as you stay close to Evelyn or me. You won’t be able to withstand the training." He said, his paranoia was affecting his reasoning. He was belittling her; did he have the slightest idea what she went through at death’s bite hand?
"I am not that weak, Cedric; you have no idea what I went through at Death’s bite hand. I know it might seem too much but you have to learn how to trust me if you want us to work." Abrielle stated, his grip tightened on the glass he was holding.
"Why are you so scared? It is not like if I want to leave, you will let me. I am tired of being known as the talentless daughter of the Nightshade family or I guess I will always be that to you. I will also be lower than Callista." Her eyes were filled with defiance he knew she would train even if he refused.
He didn’t have an issue with her training. He has an issue with her hurting herself in the process; that aside, something told him she had a hidden agenda to achieve. His paranoia was eating him up. What if she tries to leave him again?
He could never figure her with the fake smile she always had on. Why was she so desperate to train when she would never be in danger unless she put herself in it?
"If you had the chance to leave me if you had the chance to walk through that door and leave all these behind. Will you take it?" Cedric’s eyes were calm; her heartbeat steady.
She understood his gaze. Will she leave if she has the chance to escape safely? He loved her, but her feelings were still uncertain. Call her heartless but she wasn’t certain she could fall in love with someone like him. She knew, despite the calm surface, he was a psychopath deep down.
"We both know you will never give me that chance. I just want to be able to defend myself like Callista." She replied and his eyes went cold.
"Why do you keep on comparing yourself to Callista? You see, under normal circumstances, I won’t let you leave. Like hell, I don’t think I can even if my life is in danger, but you hesitated, Abrielle. I understood the look in your eyes careful and calculated not to upset the psychopath." Her heart ached, things were escalating more than she imagined they would
The crazy part was that he was right. Cedric having feelings for her didn’t make her feel much at ease. If possible, it made her more scared. His obsession was crazy, he was the type of person who would rather hug you showering you with kind words while you die instead of letting you go to survive
Cedric always had this paranoia; for someone who grew up never trusting anyone, once he had something he wanted, he would never let go.
"You really have nothing to say," he added, then got up on his feet, the seat screeching against the floor. "You have every right to be scared because I am all the terrifying things you can imagine."
He walked out his shoes clanking against the marble floor. The door closed behind him and Abrielle fell deep into her thoughts. A groan left her lips as her hands brushed through her hair.

There was a subtle knock on the door but no reply came through. A sigh left Abrielle’s lips after their arguments during breakfast. She hadn’t been able to relax.
She stood at the door of his study, her mind was in the clouds. "What am I going to even say?" She wondered.
Was it possible for her to come clean but that was just ridiculous?
Her hand reached for the large wooden doors again which she knocked. It was still raining, the time was past noon already, and from what she heard from Evelyn, Cedric had been in his study working all through.
There was still no reply. "Cedric I know you are in there. I am coming in." She said out loud then reached out for the door to push it open.
The room was dark, she walked inside, brows furrowed. Something cracked under her feet, it was glass shards. Her eyes went wide as she noticed a trail of blood. Her pulse rate spiked, "Cedric," she called out, running into the room following the rail.
The room was a mess with broken items littered around, what had happened here? Her footsteps stopped, her eyes falling on his figure that stood by the window, blood dripping from his clenched fist. "Cedric.." she called out again.
