"I can’t deal with you right now." Alix laid back down and ignored his teasing.

He was obviously trying to distract her so that she would drop the topic but he was not very successful because she was still thinking about it. If he wouldn’t share the information then she would have to find it on her own.

"System..."

It responded before she could finish her request. "Yeah, yeah, I know what you want and I have already started on it. I just knew that you would come to me as soon as your chairman father mentioned it. On another note, you have yet to take a tour of the virtual market since the system upgraded. Don’t you wish to go shopping? Granted, for you the options are limited since we cannot expose your location but it’s an experience that you might find enjoyable."

"Shopping, shopping, like I can buy things over there?" she asked. But then, she thought about what currency she would use to shop and her location. "It’s useless." she sighed.

A tour of the virtual market sounded good previously but not anymore. Of what use was it to look and admire but not touch. It was another form of torture which she didn’t need when she had a husband like Caishen already. How many times did she look at him and not touch?

"You have sighed three times so far." Her husband put his hand on her waist and he looked at her. "What is troubling my beautiful wife? Who has annoyed the most precious woman in the world?"

She scowled and shrunk away from him. Was it really Caishen or had he been replaced with an alien? "You and your overly sweet tongue. What has gotten into you?" she responded.

"I am just happy that you have come to see me. I won’t be able to come home tonight. We are still doing the audit into every department and I have found some discrepancies. There is twenty million yuan which is unaccounted for in the logistics branch of the company. Someone was siphoning off money, two million yuan every month during the time of my absentia."

"Ho!" Alix gasped and loudly expressed her shock. "Twenty million, twenty million. What the fruit! Who steals such a large amount of money? This has got to be the height of greed for sure."

"I wish it was." Caishen spoke from between clenched teeth.

The thief would not be the first to steal from the company. he or she was not even the greatest thief they had encountered. There was once a manager in the estimation department that almost got away with pocketing one hundred million yuan.

He moved his hand on her waist and squeezed it a bit. "The legal department is sorting it out. Let’s discuss something else." he suggested casually.

"What do you want to discuss?" asked.

What could be bigger than someone stealing twenty million from the company?

"I want to cuddle." he blurted out.

"Huh!" she responded. Surprise took over her entire being.

Her plan had been to laze around on this couch and play her game. Why was he in a lovey dovey mood suddenly? First the praises, and now cuddling.

She lifted her head and whispered, "Are you in heat?"

He used the middle finger of his right hand to flick her forehead.

"What are you thinking in your crazy brain? Do i look like a horny sea otter? Your husband that you like so much is spending the night at the office, don’t you want to hug and comfort me a little bit?"

She stared at him blankly and rolled her eyes.

"What about your rehab?"

"Done. I did it all during lunch." he responded.

While he responded he nudged her upper body backwards, prompting her to create space for him. Then, slowly, he lifted himself up onto the large sofa and joined her.

He laid down and faced her and she buried her face in his chest immediately, forgetting about the game she planned to play. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"This couch is much more comfortable than usual." he mumbled.

He had slept on it a few times but he always thought that it was rather too hard. He also didn’t like it’s color, as it was orange. It was the brightest piece of furniture in his office. His mother had insisted on bringing it over so that she could sleep comfortably on the nights when he worked late.

Now was probably a great time to sleep, he thought.

One of his hands was on her waist just as it had been earlier and he trailed it up and down slowly. It moved over her back, her waist, slightly above her ass.

"I thought we were hugging." she mumbled.

"This is also of a part hugging." he answered. "I can hug any part of your body that I want. Did you eat?"

"Mmm." she answered. "My father came over to the school and brought me a home cooked meal prepared by my mother. It was the cutest bento box that i have ever seen.

I now know why people say that mother’s food is the best thing in the world. I could literally taste the love which had gone into it’s preparation."

"Mother." he said slowly. He was both astounded by this reference. "Which one?"

"Auntie Mo of course, she is the closest to me of the three aunts. She texts me everyday to see how i am doing. She asks about you and the cats, even nanny Luo and Bi Cang.

She also comes to the school often and helps out in the office. There are many other things which she does for me that I won’t mention. But, if anyone deserves to be called mother by me, it’s her."

"Is this something professor He helped with?" he asked her.

He was already aware that the two women had met.

"No, it just happened. Father and I were talking and he called her my mother so naturally. It felt so simple, easy and right to go along with. The professor mostly annoyed me, frankly speaking."

"Me too." he admitted.

Alix spontaneously decided to share more of what transpired between her and the professor. "She told me that she wants us to take a picture together and I should put it on my desk. Not just any picture but one that captures a moment where we are both happy. She called it homework. I hate homework. It was the worst part of being a student."

"You were a lazy student, weren’t you?" he chuckled.

"No," she was quick to deny. "I was an exemplary student. I was almost the provincial champion in high school on the college entrance exams."

"That’s a lie and i have the documents to prove it." he said.

He had seen her results from kindergarten to university. She started out as an excellent student in her childhood but her academics fell the older she grew. He didn’t have to ask why because the cause was self explanatory.

"When did you start bragging falsely?"

She giggled and replied, "I am trying to be more like my father and grandfather. He tells everyone that I look like him so I might as well try."
