Chapter 160 -160: Secret of Harmony

Two people charged toward the four-meter-tall monster under the intense firepower cover provided by the P.W.A.T.

Diana took a step forward and her body suddenly accelerated like an arrow released from a bow.

Her body emitted a red flash in the darkness of midnight, instantly propelling forward more than 30 meters, leaving behind a long red afterimage.

The monster’s elongated rubber-band-like right arm aimed its claw straight at Diana’s chest. She sneered, her left arm swiftly lifting to deflect the claw with her shield.

This was the vulnerability she was looking for. She dove into a slide aimed beneath the monster, thrusting her wide-blade sword directly up.

Instantly, blood poured out, a large splash of hot, thick pus sprayed onto Diana’s face and chest, trickling down her collarbone and into her corset armor.

“Ah… that’s fucking disgusting,” Diana cursed under her breath.

Even though the monster didn’t have the parts a normal person would have, as a woman, Diana subconsciously thought that cutting it off there should cause it great pain.

But the monster showed no reaction.

Bader followed closely behind, leaping high and stepping on the shield Diana had raised.

With a strong push, Diana propelled him upward, and with her strength, Bader leaped again, reaching a height level with the monster’s head.

His left hand, equipped with a sleeve blade, stretched towards the monster and deployed a 12-centimeter long blade, aiming for its carotid artery.

The monster, as if picking a peach, grabbed Bader, its red eyes closely inspecting his face hidden under the hood, and roared, “Traitor!”

Bader snorted coldly, his right hand swinging a spiked hammer toward the monster’s head. Blood splattered everywhere, as if a hammer had smashed an egg.

But the monster’s flattened head regrew, and it pressed its sharp claws into Bader’s chest.

“Fuck! Fuck! Aaah!!!” Bader screamed in agony, continually striking the monster’s arm with his hammer.

Diana pulled out her longsword, stepped on the monster’s knee to gain leverage, and fiercely plunged her sword into the upper abdomen of the beast, trying to use her body weight to cut it open.

The monster noticed Diana and flung Bader away, then grabbed her.

Bader hit the ground, rolled nimbly, and his body became semi-translucent.

The monster tried to press its claws into Diana’s abdomen, but her corset armor was much harder than Bader’s hooded coat, so it was unsuccessful.

Changing its strategy, the monster grabbed Diana’s legs and right shoulder, attempting to tear her in half.

Diana fiercely resisted the monster’s strength, her free left arm striking its body with her shield.

“Shoot, shoot its legs!” Kou Mark commanded from afar, confident in his teammates’ shooting skills to not wound Diana in the monster’s clutches.

Thirty guns fired simultaneously at the monster’s legs. Although its regenerative abilities were remarkable, the intense gunfire was enough to destabilize it, causing a slight distraction.

Seizing the opportunity, Diana broke free from the monster’s grasp, kicked its face, then grabbed its shoulders and swung to its back.

Seeing Diana free, Kou Mark immediately ordered a ceasefire to avoid accidental injury.

“It’s useless, you can’t kill it like that. You need to cut off its energy supply,” Bader’s voice echoed around.

“How do you cut it off? Those blood vessels on its body?” Diana asked without turning, aware of Bader’s Holy Relics’ invisibility effect.

“No, its energy is internal,” Bader said.

“Internal… I just plunged my sword into its belly, and it didn’t react at all,” Diana said.

“Its insides are bigger than you think,” Bader said.

“Just tell me what to do,” Diana said.

“Draw its attention… I’ll handle the rest,” Bader said.

This monster was not documented in the Administration Bureau’s files; maybe tonight was their first encounter. She didn’t know why Bader was so confident, but since he was, it was best if he could solve the problem.

Diana was left holding only a shield, her longsword still embedded in the monster’s abdomen. With Kou Mark’s support, creating an opening for Bader should have been a simple task.

“Come at me, you ugly freak!” Diana tightened the straps on her shield bracer, wiped the blood off her face, and roared at the monster.

The monster’s arms stretched like rubber, snapping towards Diana, but she dodged them with her shield and evasive movements. Meanwhile,

Kou Mark split the P.W.A.T team members into two groups, shooting from different flanks, securing a safe space for Diana.

The gunfire from both sides angered the monster, which pulled one arm free to swipe at the ten-plus members on the left side. Its sharp claws tore through the waists and abdomens of three team members and sent others flying.

With half the firepower gone, the monster attacked Diana more frequently. Realizing that its rubbery long claws posed no threat to her, it withdrew its elongated arms and compressed them.

The monster’s originally thin arms now became incredibly thick, and it began pounding Diana’s shield with its fists.

When the fists collided with the shield, there surprisingly was the sound of steel clashing.

“Bader! Hurry… I can’t hold it off all day,” Diana urged anxiously.

Diana’s left arm went numb from the vibration, feeling as if her entire left side had shattered. She braced her right hand against the back of the shield, attempting to withstand the monster’s power with both arms.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Three more punches came, and Diana knelt on one knee, her left arm first in intense pain and then completely numb as it hung limply by her side with the shield.

Her left arm had dislocated.

The monster let out a victorious howl and pinned Diana to the ground with its giant right palm. It raised its left fist and smashed it towards her face.

“Mom, I love you,” Diana thought silently, staring up at the monster’s iron fist coming at her face.

“Smack!”

At that moment, a miracle happened. The monster’s body suddenly burst open, and Bader erupted from within its abdomen, his hot blood splattering on Diana’s face—scalding, greasy, and mixed with soft remnants sticking to her chest and face.

The explosion split the monster’s body into six individuals, all disheveled, lying on the ground covered in blood.

Diana spat out some of the remnants from her mouth, took Bader’s hand and stood up, looking confusedly at the six severely injured individuals on the ground.

Their bodies were deformed, two without arms, two without legs, and one, headless.

“They’re almost dead, or rather, one is already dead…” Bader sighed.

“What… what is this… I’ve never seen it before,” Diana asked.

“It’s a monster infected by Spiritual Energy, six merged into one big one,” Bader crafted a story.

In reality, they were Yasla’s monstrosities, having used a malevolent magic known as the “Secret of Harmony,” transforming into four-meter-tall flesh puppets.

Flesh puppets possessed incredible self-healing and physical molding abilities and immense strength. Their intelligence, memory, and consciousness all came from the six individuals merged together, which is why the flesh puppet had recognized Bader and screamed, “Traitor.”

But this merging magic also came at a terrible cost. Firstly, the individual forming the head died instantly; then, those forming the arms and legs lost those limbs permanently.

Once the merger dissolved, the survivors would lose their memories from during the merger and suffer from an incurable, short-term amnesia, ultimately becoming invalids with only 50 seconds of memory remaining.

“How are your injuries?” Diana asked.

“It’s nothing serious, not deep, but your shoulder has dislocated,” Bader said.

At that moment, Kou Mark ran over, pinching his nose as he looked at the bodies on the ground. Then he looked at Diana and Bader with admiration.

“We should head back, call the medical examiner to clean up the scene, and oh… don’t forget that gun…” Bader patted Kou Mark’s shoulder.

“That sacrificial offer… Bader, do you think the person who stole the gun is in this pile of bodies?” Diana asked.

“I don’t know, let’s check the fingerprints on the gun and the autopsy reports… I can’t stand this shit on me any longer… I need to go wash up,” Bader said, waving his hand and clutching his chest as he walked towards the factory exit.

Diana, clutching her dislocated left arm, watched Bader’s retreating figure with a suspicious gaze.

“What are you hiding?” she thought quietly.
