Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing-Chapter 42: The annihilation
Chapter 42 - The annihilation
The 51st floor where the Green-eyed tribe was located was situated around a certain lake. Their settlement was not around the lake but the lake atop the mountain was their main source of water as they lived right below the mountain.
Their tribe's people were naturally born with a unique shade of green eyes. They were one of the prominent figures of the 51st floor, people who produced a large amount of items that were circulated among the middle floors.
Some of them were masters who had produced great items, weapons of mass destruction, as well as innovations that helped the Natives throughout the tower.
They were powerful, they were smart, they were Creators who dedicate their entire lives to creations, to weapons, to technology, to things that added great value to everyone's day-to-day lives.
They were amazing people... but...
[ "One day, a powerful divine beast appeared on top of the sacred mountain– a poisonous divine beast." ]
The story was no simple tale.
[ "The beast poisoned the lake and all those who drank the lakewater were poisoned. The poison was not potent, however. It acted slowly, and when it did, it had already corrupted the entirety of one's mind, resulting in an instantaneous death." ]
As KiRA continued reading further, things became even more devastating.
[ "Once someone died, the poison became airborne and spreaded out like a disease. A disease without any cures." ]
The diary had records of how the tribe was almost annihilated along with the entire area around the mountain where they used to live.
There were detailed descriptions of symptoms, the remedies that they used, there were methods to not get infected as well, and there were illustrations for everything within the diary.
The records and data were too detailed for KiRA to not know what kind of poison this was... but, the creature that caused these symptoms was not supposed to exist on the 51st floor.
"The Ouroboros..."
Perhaps it was a fragment of that being, but even as a fragment of the original, the devastation that it spreaded was unbelievable.
There was no way to cure the poison of that being on the middle floors. Unless one could get their hands on the Angel's Feathers, the poison was truly incurable.
[ "Some of us managed to make it to the central area and took refuge in the human nations, however once they found out about the happenings at the sacred mountains, even they did not shelter us." ]
There were records of how there were very few of them remaining in the first place.
The diary explained how over half of the tribe was killed by the poison and a large portion of them were then captured by the humans as test subjects to find cure of the poison in case it spreads to their lands someday.
The two elders were the only fortunate ones remaining to have made it out of the grasp of the humans, along with a few younger ones.
[ "We placed the young ones under the protection of trusted people that the tribe chief had close ties with, places where their safety was at least ensured." ]
A hunt began on the 51st floor for the members of the green eyed tribe as they were labelled the 'cursed' ones by the humans who did not understand the nature of the poison that they were dealing with.
The entire mountain and forest around it were placed under restrictions by the human and Elvan nations.
Even the children of the [World Tree] did not understand the nature of this poison, but their Divinity had informed them of the dangers that the fragment of Ourborose might bring to their floor, leading to their assistance in the hunt.
[ "We thought we could escape and return to a place where we could spend the last of our days peacefully, researching the poison and finding a cure instead of forging and creating with the passionate blaze that we once used to have." ]
The handwriting in the diary started becoming uneven starting that point, as if the one writing was starting to feel dizzy.
[ "We were faring well, getting close to understanding the nature and structure of the poison... but then... She arrived here..." ]
That was the last of the things written in the diary. After that, everything was a mess and even KiRA could not make any sense of the things written in them.
"He tried his best..."
Blessing of Sloth was one of the worst curses of the Seven Deadly Sins series, a Skill series that was unique within this tower.
Only one person could possess a series of these deadly skills, and that one person becomes the Master of that Sin.
'And if we're talking about the Sin of Sloth...'
There was only one within the entire tower, one that must not have changed even in this different tower from the few descriptions that he could make out within these records.
"Belphegor..."
She wasn't supposed to be on the 1st floor but KiRA had a few scenarios in mind under which she might have descended down here.
"If they met here, then it's going to be even more difficult."
It wasn't easy to lift a Blessing off of someone, especially not when that blessing was of a Cardinal Sin.
It might have been possible by investing some of his funds but, if the caster was the Original owner of the Sin, the situation was completely different.
"We will have to work around this, Uni."
"Viv..." (Yeah...)
The clan that he was familiar with was no more and the people that used to know weren't around either.
There were two elders here, but even they weren't going to be enough to deal with a Demon of that level.
'She's a [{(Monarch)}] for hell's sake.'
It wasn't a good idea to even interact with her in any manner much less come across her. Unlike these strong elders who could at least resist the 'blessing' he would not be so lucky.
'I'll stop living out of laziness by merely being in her presence.'
He was too weak for something like that right now. However, there was thankfully still a way to wake these elders up.
"But even that is going to cost a pretty penny..."
He didn't know when his coins would stop decreasing.
"Haaa."
He knew that day wasn't going to come around anytime soon.
