Transmigrated As An Extra In The Apocalypse-Chapter 54 - 53: Dodge and Shot (2)
Chapter 54: Chapter 53: Dodge and Shot (2)
I barely had a moment to curse before I was swarmed by them.
The first spear pierced my side, the force of it sending me stumbling backward.
I tried to push myself up, but another spear struck my leg.
Then one of them caught my shoulder, and the pain was so intense I almost blacked out.
I couldn’t move fast enough.
The spears were everywhere.
I knew, deep down, that I couldn’t dodge them all.
With a gasp, I reached for Doom one last time, but it was too late.
I had no choice but to brace for impact.
The sound of the spears slicing through the air was deafening.
Each one carried with it a promise of death, and they were closing in faster than I could comprehend.
I staggered, barely able to stay upright.
My body screamed in agony, each wound pulling me closer to collapse.
Blood seeped from my injuries, staining the ground beneath me, and the world around me seemed to spin.
I wasn’t sure how much longer I could hold on.
Just as I braced myself for the inevitable impact.
Ori moved with breathtaking speed, his form dissolving into a swirling black mist that weaved effortlessly through the incoming barrage.
The mist slithered through the spears Fen had sent to block him, but their speed was something neither of us had fully anticipated.
Before I could react, pain erupted in my side as one of the spears tore through my flesh, followed by another grazing my thigh.
I stumbled, gasping, as warm blood seeped from the wounds, staining the ground beneath me.
But Fen wasn’t making it easy.
His silver eyes gleamed, and the spears moved with unnatural precision.
They twisted and turned in mid-air, faster than Ori’s mist could maneuver.
I barely registered the sharp pain as one spear found its mark, stabbing through my shoulder.
The force knocked me to the ground, and I gasped, the air leaving my lungs in a painful rush.
Another spear grazed my side, the wound hot and burning as blood flowed freely.
I couldn’t move.
My limbs felt like lead, and every breath was a struggle.
Before the remaining spears could finish me off, Ori materialized beside me in his full wolf form.
His glowing red eyes burned with determination as he lunged, his powerful jaws snapping shut around the nearest spear, shattering it into pieces.
He twisted, his sleek black fur a blur, intercepting another spear with a swipe of his massive paw, sending it skidding harmlessly to the side.
But it wasn’t enough.
More spears came, relentless and unforgiving.
Ori, still in his mist form, managed to block some spears that were seconds away from ending me.
Ori’s sharp instincts saved me once again as he grabbed onto my tattered clothes with his teeth and dragged me backward, his movements fluid and precise.
The world blurred as Ori dragged me across the ground, away from the immediate danger.
Even as he moved, he ducked and twisted, narrowly avoiding the deadly projectiles that continued to rain down upon us.
I could feel the strain in his movements, the way he dodged and weaved to avoid the relentless attacks Fen sent his way.
I was losing too much blood.
My limbs felt heavy, my vision blurred.
Every breath was ragged and shallow, and I knew if I didn’t act fast, this was the end.
With what little strength I had left, I focused on summoning a healing potion from my spatial inventory.
The small vial materialized in my trembling hand, the cool glass a lifeline in the chaos.
I fumbled with the cork, every movement sluggish and painful.
My vision blurred, and it took everything I had to bring the vial to my lips.
But just as the first drop touched my tongue, a spear came from nowhere, its speed blinding, striking the vial from my grasp.
The glass shattered against the cold ground, the precious liquid soaking into the dirt.
"No..." I whispered, my voice barely audible over the pounding in my ears.
The pain was unbearable, my body refusing to obey me.
I couldn’t move, couldn’t fight.
I was at my limit, and I knew it.
I barely had time to register my loss before I felt it, a presence.
A shadow loomed over me, and I forced my eyes to look up.
Fen.
He stood there, his silver hair gleaming in the dim light, his tunic loose and unblemished despite the chaos he had wrought.
He looked down at me, his expression cold, detached, as though I were nothing more than an insect clinging to its last breath.
"Mortal," his voice was smooth, condescending, laced with an undeniable authority. "You are still alive."
His gaze bore into me, and for a moment, I could feel the sheer weight of his power pressing down on me, suffocating and absolute.
I wanted to say something, anything, but the words wouldn’t come.
All I could do was glare at him, defiance burning in my chest even as my body betrayed me.
Fen’s lips curled into a faint smile, one that sent a chill down my spine.
I gritted my teeth, pain shooting through my body as I struggled to remain upright.
The blood loss was making it harder to focus, but I refused to collapse in front of him.
Ori growled beside me, his massive form standing protectively over mine.
Even in the face of Fen’s power, he didn’t back down.
His blue eyes burned with rage, and I could feel the tension in his body as he prepared for the next attack.
The wolf was ready to strike again, but even I could tell that Fen was toying with us.
He hadn’t even broken a sweat.
My breathing ragged, I managed to choke out.
"Yeah... and I plan to stay that way."
Fen’s lips curled slightly, his expression one of mild interest, as if my defiance was nothing more than a fleeting curiosity to him.
"Interesting," he mused. "But futile."
More silver spears formed in the air, their tips gleaming with deadly precision, and I knew our battle was far from over.
