She looked up when the sound of something crashing on his end was heard. And her eyes searched for the source in the hologram. It was a glass jar, one that had mixed fruits which she packed for him.

While they were talking, it had been sitting on table next to him, sealed but waiting to be eaten.

"Oh, your preserved fruits, what a loss." she said with disappointment.

Her heart always when ached when the slightest food was wasted and this was no different. That glass jar of preserved fruits could survive for ten years. And if it was in her storage space, it could survive for eternity.

"What happened?" she asked him.

Esong opened a button of his shirt, sighed and replied, "There was some turbulence."

Turbulence, Scarlet thought, wasn’t the sky station immobile? Confusing as it was, she did not dwell on the matter.

"What do you think, is he blackmailing them or not?" she returned to the topic which they had been discussing.

"You wouldn’t cheat me, right?" he responded with a question of his own.

One that was unexpected to Scarlet because it seemed to come out of thin air.

"Oh, ooh, is this because of what I hypothesized earlier. Why would I cheat on you and risk tearing our family apart? Besides, you seem to have forgotten the lengths I went to because of how I feel about you. Wipe that silly thought out of your mind."

She laughed and poked the hologram.

"By the way, why haven’t they developed holograms through which we can physically touch even from a distance or miles away from each other? I, want to give you a hug."

Esong smiled happily, his good mood made a return. He poked the hologram as well, specifically around her cheeks and he answered softly, "That’s what sensors are for."

"En, we can use that right now." she said, and stood up eagerly to find her sensor.

"No need, we can try it out later. I have to go out on patrol duty in five minutes and you have to prepare for dinner with your Zordin hosts. Don’t dress too prettily, I would hate for you to look so beautiful when I am not there to see it or enjoy it. I really don’t want other men admiring you unless I am there to rub it in that you are mine." He sighed sadly after saying this.

She laughed and rolled around on the bed, slowly from side to side. Wasn’t this similar to him somehow claiming her?

"We have been told to wear our new uniforms for the dinner, I will be dressed just like everybody else." she took the uniform from her storage space and showed it to him.

It was a full body suit similar to what the Xenoans wore, and the Zordins apparently.

"Look, I have a yellow one because I am the only female governor. Others will be wearing green, blue or white. I think the emperor will be wearing white or black.

I want to accessorize mine with a belt but I am worried about standing out too much. Adler has warned me to be lowkey on this trip."

Esong looked at the yellow uniform and he laughed. He knew that she hated it before even trying it on. For his wife, fashion came first and she called their uniforms an atrocity to free will.

"You have never been worried about what others thought of you, why start now? Your brother often forgets that you are technically a Wu now. A lady from the royal family. Don’t worry about it and add your belt.

Just make sure that you send me pictures, I want to be the first one to get a look at you because you are going to be the most beautiful woman in the universe even in a uniform.

I have to dash out babe, call you tonight?"

"Yes," she replied softly.

Esong chuckled and hung up.

Scarlet fanned her face with her hand because it was burning hot from all the praise that had been lavished on her by Esong. Most beautiful in the universe!!!

Even then, she fell back on the bed, squeezed her eyes shut and kicked her feet in the air with excitement.

He was jealous, caring and full of compliments, nobody could convince her that Esong was not in love with her. He might not have said it literally, but his actions betrayed him.

She touched her stomach and whispered, "Babies, your daddy loves your mommy."

Speaking of mommy, she gasped and sat up. She needed to call Justin as she had promised.

He too, answered the call quickly as his father had done.

"Mommy, mommy, you did not forget." he squealed in excitement.

She watched him jump up and down in excitement on the hologram and replied, "Of course not. I am your mother, how can I forget you my baby."

Today, it seemed was a day of making reassurances from the father to the son.

"He has been checking his terminal every thirty seconds or so and he was about to cry before you called." Mina’s voice came through and her friend too appeared in the hologram.

"Mina," Scarlet said in a pleased voice. "I asked you to check in on him and you did, thank you my friend."

Even though she had a whole family that could take care of him, everybody was also quite busy with work lately. Mina wanted to baby sit, so why not do it?

"Hey, what are friends for? Besides I love this chatty little guy, I am never bored with him around." Mina answered, waving away Scarlet’s unnecessary gratitude.

She turned her attention back to her son who was vibrating with the need to communicate with her. "Baby, have had dinner yet? How is your home work and project coming along?"

"Mommy, we didn’t get homework today, I have been playing with aunt Mina in your sunny room. We ate pizza, two carrots and drunk strawberry juice. I also took her outside and taught her the names of all my animal friends in the garden." he answered proudly.

"Ooh, what a good boy." Scarlet praised.

Inside, she thought, ever since you named the animals we were stopped from eating them.

What explain could she give him if he found one of his friends missing the next day and figured out that said friend was dinner last night.

Scarlet sighed, she had fattened those chicken, ducks and rabbits for nothing.

"Mommy, Koko wants to paint my hair." he said.

Scarlet looked at Mina, explain, she said.

"Aah, his friend suggested that he dye his hair blue so that they could look the same." she explained.

"No, you have your daddy’s hair. Tell Koko that you want to look like your daddy."

Nonchalantly, Justin moved on to the next issue, and the next and another very talkatively. He took up one hour of her time before she hung up with only ten minutes left to prepare herself for the dinner.
