Transmigrating to Modern Earth from the Future-Chapter 71: Camp
Chapter 71: Camp
[Ding! Killed level 27 E tier Draco Lizard]
[Ding! You have levelled up
Received +14 Intelligence, +14 Wisdom, + 13 Agility, + 12 Stamina, + 14 Strength, + 13 Endurance, + 10 Perception, +5 Unallocated stats.]
The familiar sound of levelling up greeted him again as he made his way to level 27, only 3 away from obtaining another skill from the system.
His stats soared once again just from that single level up, receiving a massive 95 stat points overall across all stats per level up. He could tell just from this that the disparity in strength between a level 26 E tier beast and a level 50 E tier beast would be immense, far greater than the difference in strength between a level 1 and a level 25.
With each level up he could feel his strength increasing as well as the slight increases in his mana pool and health. His spear became faster and more powerful, while his footwork became more precise. Overall he experienced growth that surpassed just his stats per level up as every part of him felt the growth from the level up.
Him now compared to the Lumen that had just entered the tutorial wasn’t even comparable, it was night and day between the two.
Closing his notifications, he took out a mana potion and chugged it down to refill his mana pool before he found a quiet place to settle while he experienced the side effect of using his Warmage’s Unwavering Might.
Very soon, the remainder of the 5 minutes were up as he felt a drastic drop in his stats, 75% in total, losing the 50% boost from the skill and an extra 25% of his own original stats.
He instantly started to feel sluggish and out of it as the rapid change in strength and every other stat was hard to adjust to.
In this state, he wouldn’t even be able to defend himself properly if a peak F tier beast found it’s way over to him and started attacking.
He really started to see how the system handled giving him such a powerful, boundary breaking skill as the drawbacks of it were just as severe as the power he received in return, especially if it ran out before he killed his target.
But he didn’t dwell on the thought for much longer as he simply waited in silence for the 10 minutes to be up, and soon enough his stats were back to normal and he was back on his feet looking for more beasts to hunt again.
Of course, even if he wanted to use the skill again, he couldn’t. It was made clear to him that he could only use it once per day. With such heavy drawbacks it was no wonder the skill was only ranked at the Epic rank.
He had no doubt that if even one of the side effects were taken away, it’s rating would see a huge increase.
Taking his mind off of the effects of his new skill, he looked at the forested valley surrounding him from all directions.
Above the high canopy of the trees he could see the cliffs and mountains where he had come from and when he checked the 1 kilometre perimeter he had previously checked before attacking the Draco Lizard, he noted that dozens of weaker F tier beasts had made their way in.
They didn’t miss the opportunity to expand their territory when the felt the absence of the powerful E tier overlord of the area.
Taking note of the free appetisers he had just been handed, Lumen cracked his knuckles before setting off from his location to go on a killing spree, noting every one of the dozens of beast’s locations.
He wasn’t planning on letting a single one of them go.

"How’s the hunt today, Will?" An old, muscled man who was busy hammering down on some metal asked will.
"Pretty meh, as always these days. How about you Damien, how’s your new sword coming along." Will, now wearing a completely new set of equipment than he had started the tutorial in, answered the man called Damien.
"Not my best creation, but still pretty damn good if you ask me. I’m bettin’ it’ll be at least Uncommon rank when it’s completed. Still haven’t managed to craft up another Rare rank since the first time I managed to. Maybe I need to increase my skill levels before I can recreate that fluke again..."
While the two were talking, elsewhere in the large camp now filled with over 500 people, Qu Quan and Jake were bartering with what looked like a merchant.
"I’ll trade this level 20 Crystalline deer antler for 5 mana potions and 5 health potions." Will bartered with the merchant, clearly wanting to get a good deal out of his most recent kill.
"No can do, 3 of each person, take it or leave it." But the merchant wasn’t letting him win the negotiations and in the end Jake was forced to accept the deal on the other party’s terms, while Qu Quan simply stood to the side snickering at Jake’s failure in the negotiations.
"How many is it this time? 12 failures now, hehe." Qu Quan continued her snickering as Jake scoffed and the two walked away towards the outer reach of the camp, waiting in place for Will as he too soon arrived at the exit to the camp.
Although 500 people may seem a lot for a gathering in the tutorial, it was still rather small compared to their previous lives on Earth and it only took a couple of minutes to walk from one end of their camp to the other.
"Are you two ready? Good, let’s get going then. Let’s aim to reach level 25 as soon as we can. I get the feeling that when we reach that level we will be in for a big surprise!" Will spoke to the other two as he checked all of his equipment. He had been hearing some rumours from the strongest hunters in their camp about what happens when one reaches level 25.
"With only 15 days left before the tutorial ends, we can’t stay behind everyone else and must reach level 25 at all costs!" The three nodded in agreement with the sentiment as they set off from their large camp in search of stronger beasts.
