Chapter 24 - He ran to the police station as fast as he could

"What do you want to hear, Master?" I asked but he stayed silent. "Is it how I, someone who was frail and suffering from heat fever, killed an Alpha, or how I was able to escape since I had actually killed someone?" I asked but there was no reaction. Which brought me to ask the ultimate question. "Or do you want to know how far that man went?"

At the mention of that, Ki-hoon flinched.

Ah, a reaction. Look at this guy. So he was just worried if his new toy had been played with before now. This was what he was after all along. Confirmation that he did not buy a tainted toy.

Well, he didn't need to worry about that since Jo-Pil was a virgin whose first time was forcefully taken on his first night in this mansion.

Come to think of it, that means I'm a virgin right now, right?

"He didn't go far." I said and struggled to sit up. "They underestimated an Omega just because he looked skinny and frail and was slightly a bit intoxicated thanks to his heat cycle," I feel hot. "...but I was someone who had been on the run and in defense mode for three years, I wouldn't let them take advantage of me that easily."

I looked away from Ki-hoon. The memory played fresh in my head as though it had happened just yesterday. A scary and paralyzing experience.

While trying to get away from the Alpha, who was using his weakness against him, Jo-Pil was very scared.

This was the time when he would desire an Alpha, and his heat would not let him think rationally, yet he could not sit still.

He cried and begged this man to let him off, but he only snickered, talking about how good it was to hear Jo-Pil cry and beg. Ugh, so gross.

As a result, Jo-Pil made up his mind. No one was going to save him. No one had and no one ever would, so he could only save himself. He reached for the vase and bashed it into the Alpha's head.

It took him off guard but Jo-Pil did not stop there. He took out his anger and fear on this man, bashing his head with the broken base until he was barely moving.

His body twitched as his brain cells slowly lost connection to the rest of his body, and before long, his body went still, and his heart stopped.

And then, Jo-Pil ran out of the room. It was locked but he managed to kick it down. No one could underestimate a desperate Omega.

He barely had any clothes as they were all torn but thanks to the commotion and confusion, he was able to get away before anyone realized what he had done, and his first destination was the police.

Though they never helped him concerning the debtor, this time it was different. It was a crime on a different scale.

He ran as fast as he could, nonstop, without stopping or looking back, and just as he reached the station with his Pheromones oozing everywhere, he yelled with a faint voice,

'Help,' before collapsing.

They took him to the hospital, but he was put in handcuffs lest he run away. For he had killed a man and they would need his statement.

"Ugh," I grabbed my head and gritted my teeth. My head was hurting even more and my breath was unsteady. Was it because of the memories that weren't mine? I felt too hot to conclude it as just that.

Maybe I should turn down the air con a bit since it was getting too hot.

"I killed him because he was trying to take advantage of me in my weak state. So, you don't have to worry, master," I forced a smile at him though my complexion still wasn't looking good. "I've never been touched by anyone. I'm clean."

Hearing that seemed to spite Ki-hoon and he grabbed my hand, staring at my face in speculation. Wait, what was this?

"You..."

I squinted my eyes but tried to keep my gaze on him. He was grabbing so tightly.

"Do you... not believe me?" I asked, my gaze sorrowful as I stared into his dark ones.

Getting no response from him made me feel very uncomfortable. It was so suffocating and overwhelming.

"Then," I gulped. "...would you like to check for yourself? And if you still don't believe me even then, you can investigate more. I... I'm telling the truth."

Oh, fuck me. Why does he have to go that far? Though, I said he could check if he wanted, he wasn't really going to actually check, right?

And with what would he check? Don't tell me he would try to do it.

I gulped once more.

I should've said something else or rather, stayed silent.

"Fine," Ki-hoon said and my heart dropped.

"What?"

He suddenly pushed me back to the bed, startling me. Wait, what? W-what was he doing?

"I'll check." He said as he got on top of me, and my heart skipped a beat. I bit my lip and without knowing, tears started sliding down from my eyes.

This idiot! So, he never planned to believe Jo-Pil at all. I felt like an idiot for believing he would suddenly have a change of heart for the love he used to have for Jo-Pil.

But to think he wanted to use that excuse to take advantage of me.

"I understand," I said, once again forcing a smile but that did not stop the tears from rolling down.

What choice did I have? If I showed my reluctance, it would only make him more suspicious.

I honestly don't know how to handle this man. It's not like I was an expert at dealing with psychopaths with crazy mood swings to begin with. I was just relying on my luck, relying on what I already knew.

Maybe I was too arrogant.

'Ah, is this how things will go from now on?' I wondered, unable to even look him in the eye. 'So much for trying to control my own faith.'

Honestly, I was scared and my body had begun to tremble. But then, he dropped his forehead on mine and said,

"Jo-Pil, you're breaking out in cold sweat."

I opened my eyes and blinked as our eyes and face were very close. Only a little more and the tip of our nose would touch.

I could feel his forehead on mine. It was cool.

What was he doing? His gaze was... Not menacing or doubting. He was actually looking at me in what looked like pity.

"You have a fever."
