Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 847: The Mysterious Three Men
Chapter 847: Chapter 847: The Mysterious Three Men
Tie Zhuzi’s car speed was steadily increasing, but catching up to the two ahead was already impossible.
Watching the gap between him and the others grow larger, he pointed to Su Yongzhen’s lane and shouted, "Kid, if you’ve got guts, don’t run off! Watch me rear-end your car!"
At the beginning, Tie Zhuzi had already boasted arrogantly. If he lost embarrassingly, it’d be hard for him to swallow his pride. Though his skin was thick, he absolutely didn’t want to lose to Su Yongzhen.
In the end, he chuckled slyly and abruptly cut through the middle. Even though the terrain was difficult, it offered the shortest distance between two points.
Seeing Xiang Yu close behind, Su Yongzhen became slightly flustered. Out of all the races he’d participated in, Xiang Yu was his toughest competitor.
However, despite the nervousness, he felt exhilarated.
If it were someone else tailing him, he might use some tricks to force them to slow down. But since it was Xiang Yu, he preferred to compete fairly.
As for Xiang Yu, he was simply curious. He wanted to see how fast these racing cars could go, and he didn’t intend to overtake Su Yongzhen.
Now that he’d experienced it, he had no reason to accelerate further. Instead, he followed Su Yongzhen at a steady pace all the way to the finish line.
Just when Su Yongzhen was about to reach the finish line, Tie Zhuzi suddenly darted out from the side, crossing the line first.
Tie Zhuzi parked his car to the side, then rushed over and pointed at Su Yongzhen. "So? Kid, admit it, I’m better, right?"
Su Yongzhen was naturally unconvinced. He pointed right back at Tie Zhuzi and retorted, "You big oaf! You cut through the middle! That’s totally against the rules!"
"It’s called all’s fair in war! When did you say it wasn’t allowed to cut through the middle? I call it improvisation!" Tie Zhuzi argued shamelessly.
The two bickered back and forth, their exchange lively and heated.
Meanwhile, Xiang Yu got out of his car, shook his head helplessly, and began strolling leisurely around the racetrack.
"Bro, your driving skills are amazing," said Xiaoxuan as he walked beside Xiang Yu. From outside the race, he had the clearest view and knew full well that Xiang Yu could have easily overtaken him, but chose not to.
Xiang Yu simply smiled and didn’t dwell on the topic. Coming from a Special Forces background, driving was a basic skill. However, how good one’s skills were depended entirely on comprehension. The quicker someone understood, the better their chances of survival on the battlefield.
The two of them walked a full circuit around the track. By the time they returned to the starting point, Tie Zhuzi and Su Yongzhen were still debating.
"I’m awesome!"
"You cheated!"
"You didn’t say anything before! I call it smart thinking!"
Xiang Yu saw the two were still arguing endlessly, so he coughed lightly and said, "Aren’t you two tired? How about taking a break?"
"Intermission!" Tie Zhuzi finally grunted begrudgingly.
Xiang Yu seized the opportunity and said, "Yongzhen, recently you need to have the staff here be more vigilant. If you spot any strangers, be extra cautious."
"Got it, Brother Yu," Su Yongzhen nodded seriously in agreement.
They’d already fallen out with Wang Hongbin, and they all knew about Wang Hongbin’s ruthless nature. As a result, they were particularly on edge about security.
"Especially over there, and over there..." Xiang Yu pointed out several specific spots to Su Yongzhen before continuing, "Pay close attention to these places. If someone attempts to plant explosive devices, they’re likely to choose those areas." Xiang Yu’s tone was grave.
"Brother Yu, how do you know they’ll choose those spots?" Tie Zhuzi asked, puzzled.
"Because in explosive science, those are called detonation points. Setting off explosions there yields unexpected results—greater destructive force and heightened danger," Xiang Yu explained calmly.
Back in the military, he had studied demolition and gained some expertise in the field.
The theater explosion had similarly followed these principles. When he regained consciousness and pieced together the events, he was startled to find that the blast perfectly matched the patterns of detonation points. From this, he deduced that the person who planted the explosives definitely had studied demolition.
Though Xiang Yu hadn’t known the old man for long, the man had left a profound impression on him and had even taught him a particular style of martial arts.
Every morning, Xiang Yu practiced this martial art routine, feeling that it significantly strengthened his foundational skills.
Even Xiaoxuan admired Xiang Yu. He initially thought they were just taking a casual walk around the track, but it turned out Xiang Yu was meticulously surveying the terrain.
Xiaoxuan, who trained under Wu Jing, wasn’t aware of such things. Even Wu Jing hadn’t taught this, so naturally, Xiaoxuan didn’t know either.
Xiang Yu shared some of this knowledge with them before finally calling the two to leave.
Only after Xiang Yu left did Su Yongzhen have a sudden realization. During his earlier race with Xiang Yu, he hadn’t truly won. If Xiang Yu had been familiar with the track from the start, he’d likely have lost miserably.
Previously, Su Yongzhen had been supremely confident in his racing skills, even believing he was ready for world-class competitions. After racing against Xiang Yu, he finally understood the saying: there’s always someone better out there.
He knew he needed to work harder and train more rigorously to expand his abilities.
Su Yongzhen sent all the racers back to rest, but he stayed behind on the track, repeatedly practicing and analyzing. He replayed every detail of Xiang Yu’s driving in his mind.
From each turn to each braking maneuver, everything Xiang Yu did was smooth and seamless, unlike his own clumsy and frantic attempts at the time.
Su Yongzhen practiced until 11:30 pm. He lay in his car, initially intending to summarize his thoughts, but ended up falling asleep right there.
It was unclear how long he’d been sleeping when faint voices woke him.
Opening his eyes and looking outside, he saw three people standing in the middle of the track, observing something intently.
"Look, there’s even a car parked over there," one of them said, glancing in Su Yongzhen’s direction.
Still groggy, Su Yongzhen snapped to full alertness upon seeing the three figures. He quickly sat upright in his car.
"Don’t worry about it. There’s definitely no one inside; otherwise, they’d have come out by now," sneered one of them.
The speaker was Ren Baohe, wearing a baseball cap and known by the nickname "Bomb Man." He was something of a prodigy.
After dropping out of middle school, he developed an obsession with explosives and had been self-studying the subject ever since.
The other two nodded in agreement with Ren Baohe’s reasoning and didn’t object. They stood in the center, continuing to examine something.
Su Yongzhen remained silent in his car. Xiang Yu’s earlier warning rang in his ears, and he wouldn’t act rashly until he understood who these people were.
Besides, the instruments in their hands seemed like they were for measuring something. To an outsider, they might even look like engineers surveying a site.
The man in the middle busily calculated while gesturing toward various points. Though Su Yongzhen couldn’t hear what they were saying, their pointed directions unmistakably matched the detonation points Xiang Yu had flagged earlier.
"Are these people here to plant bombs?" The thought sent chills down Su Yongzhen’s spine. Fortunately, he’d stayed and hadn’t left...
