Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 898: It Really Was Him Who Captured the Person
Chapter 898: Chapter 898: It Really Was Him Who Captured the Person
Tie Zhuzi didn’t wait for Xiang Yu to finish speaking before hanging up the phone. Thinking he had uncovered some profound truth, he chuckled mysteriously and said, "Everyone relax, I know where they are."
Tie Zhuzi spoke cryptically, hoping to see Wang Ze and Xiaoxuan’s reactions. To his surprise, the two showed no response. They had been anxious just moments ago, but now they were calm and composed.
"Aren’t you curious?" Tie Zhuzi asked when he noticed the two weren’t interrogating him.
"Curious," Xiaoxuan replied.
"If you’re curious, why aren’t you asking?" Tie Zhuzi yelled.
Feeling a bit resigned, Xiaoxuan thought Tie Zhuzi was the type who couldn’t keep secrets. If he knew something, he would blurt it out unprovoked; there was no need to press him.
If Tie Zhuzi didn’t share, he’d surely feel suffocated.
"Where are they?" Xiaoxuan asked, fulfilling Tie Zhuzi’s desperate need to spill the beans.
Sitting on the side, Wang Ze shook his head helplessly at the scene. Tie Zhuzi was the kind of person only Xiang Yu could handle; most others wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
"Brother Yu and Sister Long Wu are together, hehe..." Tie Zhuzi said, stopping short after letting that slip. The implication was obvious—two people spending the night together and not returning; where else could they be?
Hearing this, Xiaoxuan frowned. Although Xiang Yu was usually carefree, even somewhat lecherous, the idea of him and Long Wu doing something inappropriate right now seemed highly improbable.
"Zhuzi, call him again and ask where he is," Xiaoxuan said, furrowing his brows.
"I’m not calling. If you want to ask, call him yourself," Tie Zhuzi replied, then headed outside.
Since Xiang Yu wasn’t around, Tie Zhuzi decided to go out and have some fun.
Wang Ze chuckled and said, "If he’s with Brother Yu, everything’s fine. I’ve got things to do, so I’ll take off."
Xiaoxuan couldn’t shake a strange feeling. He thought Tie Zhuzi had hung up the call earlier far too quickly.
Finally, Xiaoxuan decided to call Xiang Yu himself.
"Brother Yu, where are you now?" Xiaoxuan asked directly.
"When did Long Wu go missing?" Xiang Yu asked, his tone serious.
That was enough for Xiaoxuan to realize Tie Zhuzi had accidentally jumped to conclusions earlier.
"We realized it this morning. From the unaltered state of her room, she must have gone missing last night," Xiaoxuan analyzed.
"Got it," Xiang Yu said, preparing to end the call.
"Brother Yu, where are you? I’ll come find you," Xiaoxuan asked worriedly.
"No need. I can handle it alone. Tell everyone to stay alert," Xiang Yu replied, then abruptly hung up.
He wasn’t yet certain if Ren Baohe was responsible. A crowd would only complicate matters.
Furthermore, Wolf Fang’s Han Xiaodong had also contacted Xiang Yu, and they were suspect too—though unlikely.
After all, they hadn’t confirmed if Xiang Yu was truly connected to Wolf King. Wolf King was elusive, even to his own people. Verifying anything involving him was no easy task.
As Xiang Yu walked the busy streets, he pieced together recent events in his mind. Finally, he pulled out his phone and called Ren Baohe.
The phone rang several times before Ren Baohe answered.
"Xiang Yu, impressive! You’ve managed to get both the police and the military involved. You really think highly of me," Ren Baohe sneered sarcastically.
"Don’t make trouble," Xiang Yu replied.
Xiang Yu didn’t know if Long Wu was in Ren Baohe’s hands, so he kept his words ambiguous. If she wasn’t, Xiang Yu’s warning would at least rattle him. If she was, Ren Baohe would surely react.
"Don’t worry; I’ll take good care of her. I must say, I’ve never seen a beauty like her before, Xiang Yu. Your taste is impeccable," Ren Baohe chuckled sinisterly.
Hearing this, Xiang Yu was almost certain Long Wu had been kidnapped by him.
"What’s your plan?" Xiang Yu asked.
Ren Baohe laughed again, his tone cycling between amusement and hostility. Finally, the laughter ceased abruptly, and he said, "Xiang Yu, this is all your fault. Twice now—twice—you’ve destroyed my plans and disarmed my bombs..."
The more Ren Baohe spoke, the more agitated he became. At last, he stood up and kicked a nearby chair flying.
"I told you, for every bomb that explodes, you lose someone close to you. One bomb went off, and now this beauty of yours will disappear from the world!" Ren Baohe ranted erratically, alternating between laughter and shouting like a madman.
Xiang Yu forced himself to stay calm, taking a deep breath before replying, "Ren Baohe, how about we make a bet?"
Upon hearing Xiang Yu propose a bet, Ren Baohe chuckled and replied, "What kind of bet? Go ahead."
"Tell me your exact location. I’ll find you within two hours. If I do, you let her go," Xiang Yu said.
Ren Baohe considered this for a moment. The location was arbitrary, and with only two hours, it was implausible for Xiang Yu to reach him—let alone scour the city.
"Fine. I’ll set the timer on her bomb for two hours. If you can’t find me in time, don’t blame me," Ren Baohe replied.
"Just tell me your general location," Xiang Yu demanded.
Ren Baohe glanced at the city map before saying, "I’m in a small house surrounded by grass and a patch of woods nearby. That’s all you get."
With that, Ren Baohe hung up before Xiang Yu could ask more questions.
Xiang Yu quickly ran to a nearby pavilion.
"Sir, I need a city map," Xiang Yu said urgently.
Inside the pavilion was an elderly man wearing reading glasses, engrossed in his newspaper. Upon seeing Xiang Yu rush over, he peered over his glasses and replied, "Young man, slow down and speak clearly."
"I need a city map," Xiang Yu repeated, as patiently as he could.
"So young, yet you mumble like that. Speak louder! You’re a man—don’t talk like some delicate lady without conviction," the old man said, placing down his newspaper as he eyed Xiang Yu.
"I need a map!" Xiang Yu shouted.
"Why are you yelling? You think being loud gets the point across? Let me tell you, back in my day I was the squad’s bugler, always giving commands at full volume. You think you can outshout me—hey, what are you doing? Are you stealing from me? Listen here, young man, I was the fiercest fighter in my team back then—hey, stop running! I need to give you your change!"
Xiang Yu couldn’t stand the old man’s chatter. Clearly, the elderly gentleman was just lonely, seizing the rare opportunity to talk to someone. He was the type to prefer conversation to mere transactions.
This was a common trait among service workers, especially older ones. Seeing few people daily, they eagerly seized any chance to talk. Some seniors were even willing to forego money just for company.
But younger people were far too busy for such chats, making loneliness in old age particularly disheartening.
Xiang Yu couldn’t be an exception. With no time for leisurely talk, he left some money behind, grabbed the map, and dashed away.
Reaching an open space, Xiang Yu opened the map and carefully studied it. It didn’t take long for him to pinpoint the location...
