Vampire's Veil Of Obsession-Chapter 121: Still Felt It…
Chapter 121: Still Felt It...
Lilia’s lips trembled slightly in shock—she hadn’t expected it at all.
How? How did that even happen? Was it a deliberate accident? She couldn’t even wrap her head around it. It was the shock she felt right now, at this point.
Zethan held her protectively.
This... this was one of the reasons he had refused to inform her earlier. His deep thoughts hadn’t been about anything else but her—her reaction.
He couldn’t bear the thought of her feeling this broken. He hated seeing her smile fade, her lips trembling downward in that shaky curve, as if trying to make sense of it all.
Lilia knew her parents weren’t perfect—far from it—but they were still her parents. No matter how much she tried to stay strong, her chest tightened. Even though her father could be considered one of the worst, at least there were times he had protected her. Maybe it was for his own benefit—but still, the feeling lingered.
She slowly raised her head, still sitting on Zethan’s lap. No sound came from her lips, only silent tears streaming down her cheeks. It just kept falling—her eyes, streams of tears like an endless ocean. It was so painful that no sound came out. Why was she still in shock?
Zethan’s body stilled. He didn’t know what to do. The way she stared at him now, her tears still rolling, made his heart clench. It was like he could feel her pain.
He leaned forward, gently caressing her back as she rested her face on his chest, her shoulders moving up and down with her cry.
HIC...
She started to hiccup, her watery eyes locked on him. Zethan moved, cupping her face with his hands as he lightly bumped his forehead against hers.
His face was etched with worry, his eyes scanning her face as his hands wiped the tears from her cheeks, her long, wet lashes parted.
"Say something to me, sweetheart. Anything," he whispered.
But she remained silent.
HIC... HIC...
She hiccupped, tears still falling.
Still carrying her on his lap, Zethan shifted slowly on the bed, reaching out to grab the bottle of water on the bedside table.
He opened it and gently guided it to her lips. Lilia drank slowly before Zethan pulled it away and capped it. Lilia lowered her gaze.
Her voice came out in a soft whisper.
"W...where is he now?"
Zethan fell silent for a moment before speaking.
"He had just been taken out of the hospital for..." he paused, his voice catching as Lilia, who had been crying quietly, began to make soft, broken sounds.
"Uhhm, Zethan... SNIFF... Wh..Why..?"
She clung to him tightly, burying her face in his chest as she gripped his shirt tight.
"Z... Z-Zethan... why... why am I getting more scared with each passing day?" Her voice trembled with vulnerability. "Do you think I’m... bad luck? That I bring misfortune to everyone I care about... when they don’t even care about me?"
"Shhh," Zethan whispered gently, coaxing her with soft strokes on her back. Lilia’s cries grew louder.
"What if one day... you leave... or I leav—"
Zethan’s hand immediately covered her mouth. He knew exactly what she was about to say, and he wouldn’t let her say those words.
"You are not bad luck, and you’ll never be. If you’re bad luck, then I must be the worst kind there is."
Lilia remained silent, and Zethan continued, wrapping an arm around her from the side. His other hand gently rubbed her shoulder as he spoke in a quiet, soothing voice.
"You’re not bad luck, and I never want you to think that again—ever. You are the best luck I could ever wish for, okay, sweetheart?"
She gave a small nod, sniffling as she turned her face away. Her fingers patted her damp cheeks, as if trying to imagine how she must look right now.
She wasn’t a good crier.
He wondered what expression she wore now—tears glistening in her eyes, her cheeks flushed from emotion.
It was such a beautiful sight... but also the saddest look he had ever seen on her face.
Lilia laughed softly, turning her head to the side as her cheeks flushed slightly. Then she spoke quietly, her voice almost teasing.
"Why do you always say the sweetest things, honey?"
Zethan chuckled too, pressing his face into the curve of her neck.
"I must look so ugly right now," she whispered softly, her teeth biting her lower lip.
Zethan held her chin, making her look into his eyes. He stared at her golden-brown ones softly.
"You are the most beautiful lady I have ever met in my whole existence, and I mean it—even if I cannot remember one... face, I’m sure you are prettier," he spoke as he leaned, resting his face on her shoulder. Lilia’s body stilled—did she just see an emotion flash in Zethan’s eyes? What was that?
"You’re here early," he murmured. "Was there a problem?" He finally raised his head, his expression back to normal.
He hadn’t expected her to come by at this time—especially not when he had been thinking about how he would explain the incident to his wife. He didn’t want to make her feel any worse than she already did. Her early arrival had genuinely caught him off guard.
Lilia shook her head, laughing softly like she was about to say something silly. Then she shrugged lightly and said,
"It was like I felt it... like I just knew. Probably family stuff... or something."
Zethan nodded, taking that in.
"Are we leaving now?" she asked gently.
He nodded.
"You’re already dressed, so we could just head home, right?"
Lilia gave a quiet nod.
"You don’t have to worry, okay?" he said with a warm smile. "If you need a hug, just ask for one. This stunning husband of yours is always ready."
He leaned back dramatically, a playful grin on his lips as he swept his hair back animatedly.
Lilia giggled, shaking her head as her eyes twinkled with amusement.
They stood together, and Zethan walked over to the drawer, pulling out a soft tissue. Returning to her side, he moved gently, dabbing the tissue against her cheeks to wipe away the traces of tears.
Lilia took it from him afterward, her expression fond.
"Oh, Zethan," she said with a small smile. "I think you’re spoiling me too much. I might even forget how to do basic things myself."
Zethan grinned, his tone filled with quiet devotion as he gently took it back.
"I don’t mind doing them for you."
Lilia shook her head gently, a faint smile touching her lips as Zethan finished wiping her tears. When he was done, he softly took her hands in his and looked into her eyes.
"Are you hungry?" he asked quietly.
Lilia shook her head again—not because it didn’t help, but because something deeper was stirring inside her.
She had lost her appetite...Though,The pain she had been feeling had been replaced by the warmth from Zethan.
He had this way about him.
A way that made her feel safe, seen... cared for.
And it scared her.
Because if he kept being this gentle, this thoughtful—she knew she’d fall harder.
Maybe she already had.
Maybe she was already selfishly in love with this man and not just in love. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
What did he do to her? Oh, goodness.
And he wasn’t even aware.
Before she could even think, her lips curved upward, and she leaned into him, wrapping her arms around his body in a tight hug. Her voice was small, but full of quiet emotion.
"Zethan... am I clingy?"
Zethan chuckled softly, still holding her close. With a slow, teasing smirk, he replied,
"I’m the one who’s clingy, sweetheart."
Lilia rolled her eyes at his playful tone, but couldn’t stop the soft laugh that escaped her.
Still holding hands, the two of them turned toward the door.

Inside the car, the world outside blurred into streaks of green and gold as it zoomed down the road. Lilia rested her face against the window, her eyes taking in the calm beauty of nature. The gentle sway of trees, the soft movement of leaves—it all brought a strange kind of peace to her heart.
A small smile played on her lips.
But before she could get lost in her thoughts, she felt a sudden pull—two hands around her waist guiding her toward his side.
Her eyes widened as she turned to him, only to find him looking at her, his lips moving into a smile.
Lilia’s eyes flew wide as she felt his hands on her waist. Her gaze shifted to the chauffeur.
She leaned in, whispering with a slight pout, "You have to behave, okay? There’s someone else in the car."
He chuckled softly, voice smooth and teasing.
"The chauffeur? Oh, he’s not a problem. I could easily tell him to leave, you know."
He winked. "Why waste time when we could do our business now—in a new place?"
Lilia flushed deeply, quickly turning her face to the side.
This man was something else.
If he meant to distract her, then he’d definitely succeeded. He was distracting—utterly, hopelessly distracting.
Still holding her by the waist, he leaned in a little closer and spoke calmly, voice low and smooth.
"Seems like we’ll have to postpone our one-week plan... for another week."
