Chapter 174: Her Night..

The sun peeked it’s way through the parted curtains into the room leaving a golden hue on the wall..Lilia’s eyes fluttered open, her body aching slightly as she shifted to the other side of the bed. A dull soreness throbbed between her thighs—remnants of the countless times she and Zethan had made love last night. She blinked, momentarily wondering if it had all been a dream. No... it had felt far too real to be one. She sat up quickly, convinced Zethan must have somehow changed her into another nightwear while she slept.

As she lifted her gown, her eyes caught sight of a faint kiss mark just above her thigh. Her cheeks flushed instantly. That was definitely Zethan’s doing. It hadn’t been a dream—it had been real. Her body’s soreness gave it away. Her face burned with embarrassment as memories of how many times they had done it flooded her mind. If she hadn’t fallen asleep mid-way, she was certain he would’ve kept going.

The way his lips had curled into a devilish smile—and the reminder that they weren’t done yet—still stood fresh in her mind.

Her heart thudded in her chest as she rolled onto the bed, burying her face in the pillow and letting out a muffled scream. She punched the pillow lightly as if that would calm her heart down but no... Just then, a knock on the door startled her. She stood quickly scrambled to the wardrobe, pulling on a longer robe to cover her neck and arms.

She moved quietly, opening the door while trying to keep her expression composed. As the door creaked open, the lady standing outside turned respectfully and greeted her.

"Lady Lilia, good morning. How was your night?"

Lilia blushed deeply, answering with as much calm as she could muster, trying not to give anything away.

"It was great..."

Splendid and spectacular, even...

If only this woman knew just how much I enjoyed it, she thought. Honestly, Zethan had only stopped because sleep had taken over. If not for that, it would’ve gone on much longer.

The lady fumbled with her words slightly as she spoke again.

"Lady Lilia, are you okay? You look a bit flushed. Are you feeling unwell?"

Lilia quickly nodded, keeping her voice steady.

"Yeah... I, uh, accidentally hit my head on the bed plank."

The lady gasped softly.

"Oh, Lady Lilia! My apologies. You must be more careful next time."

Lilia nodded again, suppressing a knowing smile. Oh, she had hit her head alright—just not in the way the woman thought. Her husband had definitely made her move more than once last night.

The lady then spoke softly,

"There’s no problem, Lady Lilia. I’ll now head into the bathroom to prepare your bath. You’ll be having breakfast with Lord Zethan and Prince William."

Lord Zethan...

Lilia’s body tensed slightly at the mention of Zethan’s name. Wait...Zethan? Would he really be joining them for breakfast before his fight with Prince William?

Her cheeks flushed again, and she gave a small nod. She could hardly wait to see him. Honestly, she had thought he’d leave earlier—after all, he came to visit, and he was supposed to win the fight before being with her. But she knew her husband. Zethan made his own rules—he had disappeared only after being the most wicked husband imaginable in bed. Her lips curled slightly at the thought.

She whispered to herself,

"I can’t wait."

That bubbling excitement—something she thought she had lost over the past week—was returning. And it was all because of him. The anticipation of seeing Zethan again lit something inside her she hadn’t felt in days.

The lady stepped out and spoke gently,

"Lady Lilia, your bath is ready."

Lilia nodded in acknowledgment.

"I’ll be taking my leave now—unless you’d like me to assist with your bath?" the lady offered politely.

Lilia shook her head quickly.

"No, don’t worry. I’ll handle it myself."

"As you wish, Lady Lilia," the lady replied with a respectful bow, then quietly exited the room.

Lilia entered the bathroom and began undressing. As she stood in front of the mirror, her eyes trailed over her reflection—her skin was covered in faint marks, love bites scattered across her neck and shoulders like secret messages only she could understand.

She sighed softly. ’I’ll need a gown with a higher neckline to cover these,’ she thought, gently brushing her fingers over one of the hickeys. Her heart thudded, her body tingling as butterflies danced up her tummy.

A smile tugged at her lips again.

"Lilia, calm down," she whispered to herself. "Just act natural. Don’t blow your cover when you see him."

But her lips betrayed her, curling into a soft giggle as the memories of the night before played in her mind. It had been so long since she’d felt this kind of happiness—this giddy, glowing joy.

"Shhh, calm down, okay? Agggh, how can I? Okay, just be normal." She held her hands up as if that would calm her heartbeat.

Even though she had countless questions to ask Zethan—like how he came to this world and what exactly had brought him here—she knew there would be time for that later. Once he won... right? Yes. Once he won, she could ask everything.

A small, dreamy smile played on her lips at the thought.

’That’s my place,’ she whispered inwardly, a warm flutter rising in her chest.

With that, she stepped into the tub, letting the soothing water embrace her body. It was time for her bath—and time to calm the storm of excitement Zethan had stirred within her that morning, even without seeing him yet.

Later, Lilia walked alongside the lady guiding her to the dining room. She wore a high-neck, light blue floral gown—the one she had grown to love during her time at the castle. It was light and comfortable, unlike the heavy dresses she used to wear.

"Lady Lilia," the lady said gently. "His Highness and Lord Zethan are already there."

Lilia gave a soft nod and continued walking. As they reached the large doors, the lady opened them. Lilia inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, bracing herself before stepping in.

Her eyes instinctively searched for him, and when they landed on Zethan, their gazes locked. She nearly missed a step, her heart racing in her chest as she tried to maintain her poise. A slow, knowing smirk curled on Zethan’s lips.

William sat nearby, his head lifting as the once-suffocating presence in the room seemed to lighten. He turned—and then saw the reason why.

Zethan had already risen from his seat, surprising William as he pulled out a chair beside him for Lilia.

Lilia smiled softly, though her cheeks betrayed her calm expression with a blush as she sat beside Zethan. William’s jaw clenched, as if biting back words.

"You know," William said, his voice strained, "doing that will make more sense after the fight."

Zethan sat down, his face unreadable. He moved with quiet confidence, placing a piece of meat on Lilia’s plate as though William wasn’t even there.

"There’s no need to act all childish," Zethan replied calmly. "We both know winning would be fatal for you."

William’s eyes widened in shock, his mouth opening and closing without words. Lilia stilled, lowering her gaze as she began to eat.

"Do you want water?" Zethan asked softly, his tone gentle.

Lilia nodded, and their eyes met again. She quickly turned her face aside, holding back a giggle.

William caught it. His expression darkened, but that only made Zethan’s smile widen.

"My bad for not introducing myself to the prince," Zethan said smoothly, dabbing his lips with a napkin. "At least your little title deserves some respect."

Then, without hesitation, he looked straight at William.

"My name is Zethan Lyall. I came from the Land of the Living to meet my wife—Lilia. Mrs. Zethan."

Lilia’s entire body froze.

Mrs. Zethan.

The words alone were shocking.

But hearing them come from Zethan’s lips?

Even more so.

"Mr. Zethan, very true," she said softly, her smile widening. "But don’t you know they call me Lady Lilia here?"

Zethan chuckled.

"That’ll change today, my little loris."

Lilia nodded as she placed another piece of meat on Zethan’s plate. He moved his fork, eating it quietly. William’s frown deepened, and for some unknown reason, he really wanted to fight this man—and win.

Lilia moved to take the glass of water.

"How was your night, Lady Lilia?" The moment those words left William’s lips, Lilia coughed.

Zethan immediately took the glass and moved to rub her back gently.

"Take a deep breath, sweetheart. I’m here," he said calmly.

Lilia followed his instructions, slowly calming down. Then Zethan smiled—his grin turning downright sinful.

"It seems she had the most splendid night ever last night," he said.

Lilia’s eyes flew wide in shock. Her face burned as she immediately tapped Zethan’s lap under the table to signal him to stop, but to her surprise, Zethan placed his hand on her thigh.

And as if that wasn’t enough...

He began to move upwards.
