Vergil Is Back-Chapter 44 - 35: The Devil Lord’s Oath
Chapter 44 - 35: The Devil Lord’s Oath
Location: Personal Dimension — Leon's Sanctuary
Above the floating isle, time stood still beneath the silent sky. Stars blinked in and out like echoes of forgotten gods. At the center of it all, Leon stood—still, composed, and ready.
His power was no longer raw. It was sharpened, tamed. His clone had already stepped into another world—but before the journey could truly begin, one last command had to be given.

Leon didn't hesitate.
"Purchase."
The scroll materialized in his hand, etched with glowing abyssal runes. The moment it unraveled, reality shuddered. Shadows coiled and surged like a tidal wave. Then, a figure stepped through—sharp suit, elegant stride, twin obsidian horns curling skyward.
He bowed low, hand to chest, crimson eyes glowing with both reverence and pride.
"My Lord. I am Diablo. From this moment forth, your command is law."
Leon's gaze was steely. "You'll be more than a servant."
He raised his hand, summoning a projection of Asia, Raynare, and now, Rias Gremory—the crimson-haired noblewoman who had begun to stir something else in him.
"I'm leaving this world soon—my real body will remain hidden here. But while I'm gone... they need a shield. A mentor. A shadow they never see coming."
Diablo's smile widened. "Understood. I shall remain at their side."
Leon continued, voice firm.
"Protect Asia. Train her. She's been gifted a power she's barely begun to understand. Raynare... she's changed. But fragile. Help her stay on this new path."
He turned then, and with a thoughtful pause, added:
"And Rias... watch her. She's strong, proud—but she's been tangled in too many burdens. Help her peerage. Guide them when I can't. Train them if they accept it. Especially her."

"Your will is absolute," Diablo replied with a hand over his heart. "I shall treat them as extensions of your domain."
"Good. But know this," Leon said darkly, "if any of them are ever harmed while I'm gone..."
"Their enemies will burn in silence," Diablo finished with a whisper. "I understand perfectly."
Later – Gremory Territory
The night sky crackled above the Gremory estate as Diablo appeared in a quiet burst of black wind. Asia and Raynare had been outside training, while Rias stood by the balcony, sensing something strange.
A ripple of power unlike anything they had known.
Diablo stepped forward and bowed.
"Ladies. My name is Diablo. Your guardian and instructor. Lord Leon has entrusted me with your care."
Asia's eyes lit up with confusion and curiosity. "Instructor...?"
Raynare raised a brow. "So he really did leave..."
Rias descended the balcony, her aura tense. "Why did he send you?"
Diablo met her gaze with a calm smile. "Because you matter to him. And because even the strong need to grow stronger. My presence here is not to replace him—but to ensure you're ready when he returns."
Her eyes softened—if only a little.
Back in the Personal Dimension
Leon stood before the rift once more. His clone was ready. His body anchored in silence, in control. With Diablo in place, he could now roam freely—one step ahead of gods, demons, and destinies waiting to be rewritten.
"Protect them, Diablo."
"With my life, my Lord."
Leon nodded, stepping through the rift.
