Villain's POV: A Monster's Odyssey-Chapter 18: The Feast, the Fracture, and the Funny Business
Chapter 18 - The Feast, the Fracture, and the Funny Business
"...."
The room fell silent once more, but not in the quiet anticipation of business deals or heavy discussion. It was the kind of silence that came from watching an impending train wreck in slow motion or a bomb getting set off at the worst timing possible.
Ekidna's eyes, who had held her fork in anticipation, still suspended mid-air with a piece of smoked berico ham on the end, trembled slightly. She blinked, as if to process what Yuuta had just said.
"I don't eat pork." Yuuta immediately dumped the plate to the ground, not masking his disgust in the slightest.
Her smile faltered for a split second before it returned. She smiled at him, with the tips of her lips slightly twitching, as she proved the capability of her self-control.
"You... don't eat pork?"
Her voice had a dangerous undertone, a glimmer of malice hidden beneath the cheerful facade.
"I... did just put that on your plate, you know."
Yuuta, as usual, remained completely unfazed. He glanced down at the stew in front of him that he had scooped of, his eyes as calm as a lake on a windless day.
"Yeah, pork doesn't really agree with me."
He gave a small, dismissive shrug, before taking another hearty spoonful of his corned stew before he went on twirling his fork in the air.
"You know?"
Ekidna merely raised an eyebrow at his seemingly carefree manner before she spoke in a quite irritated voice.
"Know about what?" She asked impatiently with a chilling gaze.
Yuuta merely breathed out for a second before he continued his remark.
"There was once an Arab Historian named Ibn Khuldun"
He paused for a moment before he went on speaking.
"He has once said that the Arabs ate camels and acquired from them jealousy and harshness. The Turks ate horses and acquired from them ferocity and strength. The Negroes ate monkeys and acquired from them a love of music."
A wry smile plastered across his face as he slowly set down the fork on the table and held the spoon.
"Now, what do you think he said when he spoke about those that ate pigs?"
Ekidna narrowed her eyes at the boys behavior that she did not expect.

The grin that was only Yuuta's face stretched more.
"He said 'The Franks ate pigs and acquired from them cuckoldry" He laughed heartedly.
BANG!
Ekidna banged the table with her fist that, although seemed small and fragile, was more than enough to crush the forearm of a full-ass grown man.
".... Oh, care and tell me why you've decided to tell me this?" Her temper was visibly worsening by the moment, and her smile began to falter. Everyone present felt cold seat accumulating on their backs as they realized the severeness of the situation.
"Mis-" Mr. Garcia who swallowed a mouthful of saliva attempting to calm down the weather as he inwardly cursed himself for underestimating the situation and making fun of Yuuta.
"Fuck off"
Without even taking as a much as a glance towards his direction, Mr. Garcia flinched and whimpered as he sat back down on his chair. Although he was the host of the party, he was by no means stronger than this entity that could turn him into human toothpaste.
Only Yuuta seemed to have a cool head on his shoulders as he indifferently shrugged off her anger.
"No particular reason"
*Crack*
Ekidna's silver spoon started to deform under the pressure of her trembling, little hand.
"No reason?" A bulge appeared on her forehead as she completely lost her sense of reason.
"No reason? Wasn't it because you-"
Before she was able to start cussing Yuuta from his first generation however, a gasp echoed from her as she felt two small rough yet warm hands firmly grasping her hand that held the metal spoon.
The anger in her eyes disappeared as she saw the gentle and worried eyes of Yuuta who held her hands carefully like they were a fragile vase and slowly opened them, and slowly confusion overtook her previous expression.
Unbeknownst to her, the deformed spoon had unnaturally twisted and a sharp shard had impaled the palm of her hand, slowly dying it red as a small river of blood drops ran through her forearm.
"Sister! Why did you impale yourself like this?!" He shouted with worried eyes as he quickly got off the chair and went to a near first aid kit that was hanging on a shelve.
Everyone in the room including Ekidna were dumbfounded at his word choice of sister. Wasn't he the one who told her that he wasn't her little brother?
Ignoring them, he quickly pulled a chair, stood upon it and grabbed the medical aid kit.
After grabbing them, he gently jumped off and ran towards Ekidna in a hurry before he held her palm out and quickly opened the medical aid kit.
Ekidna shook off his hand and glared at him in suspicion.
"Why are you doing this? Weren't you just insulting me, you little brat?"
Yuuta who had just pulled out the white bandages from the kit stopped and slowly looked up to her in a meaningful manner as if was disapproving of her.
"Ekidna! Why do you think I told you what I did? Did you think I was provoking you on purpose ??" He scolded.
Ekidna hesitated for a moment with uneasy eyes before her eyes grew confident.
"Then why did you do it?" She asked in half-anger, half confusion as she awaited his answer, challenging him. She wanted to see if his answer would be half-baked or if his excuse would be good enough for her to forgive him.
Yuuta sighed as if he had heard the most ridiculous thing in the world before turning to her.
"Because, I was worried about you"
"Oh, worried about me? How so?" She crossed her arms in doubt as she checked any of his body language or eye contact to sense if he was lying. Too bad Yuuta was a master at this kind of thing.
"I was worried about your health. What would I do if the pork you ate had something bad that could affect your health, like a tape worm? What if you ate too much and something like that happened to you? How would I see you again?"
Yuuta sniffled tearfully as a tear slid down his left eye, quietly sobbing.
All the doubt that had accumulated in Ekidna's mind disappeared as she felt her chest tighten at the sight of the boy who was crying for her sake. Her affection for him accumulated to another new level.
Although by no means was Ekidna foolish, in fact, her cunningness was so vicious and wide that her reputation was well known in the underworld, her IQ expected to be over 180, she couldn't bear the fact that the boy was crying for her health. That was how good his acting was.
His image overlapped with her deceased younger sister that she had doted on before she had passed away at a hospital. That was why she had a sibling complex.
She slowly approached Yuuta, intending to hug him and slowly caress his hair, but she stopped in her footsteps when Yuuta stepped back a step and looked at her warily.
'Don't look at me with those eyes!' Ekidna's was heartbroken when she saw the look on Yuuta's face. However, as contrary to her thoughts the boy immediately held her delicate hand.
Ekidna's eyes widened for a moment at the boys speed before here gaze softened a bit.
"You sure are a rascal, huh?" She smiled as she patted Yuuta with her left hand. Ignoring her, he gently licked off the blood that was dripping on her forearm. His small, wet bright red tongue slowly trailed up her hand until it reached her palm.
Ekidna flinched at the foreign wet sensation on her hand, and with a flushed face, she attempted to pull her hand only to meet Yuuta's stern gaze despite not being a virgin.
'I-it feels funny...'
After reaching her palm, he gently licked off all the blood that was left. Embarrassed, Ekidna coughed as she decided to break the awkward mood as everyone in the room was looking at the situation in undeniable shock.
Only Dietrich seemed to be the most rational since it seemed he was the most familiar with Yuuta's antics. He carried out many deals with Yuuta, or more specifically children soldiers that were used on battlefields. He slowly sipped his Gewürztraminer and pursed his lips as if savoring the aftertaste. If he did not know Yuuta, he would have believed that Yuuta's actions until now were random.
'He's at it again, huh?'
A chill ran across his spine as he tried to comprehend what ran through the boy's actions that were calculated to a horrifying degree, more than he could ever calculate.
After finishing the licking session, Yuuta slowly raised his head and looked up to Ekidna's eyes with his bewitching blood stained lips.
