Walker Of The Worlds-Chapter 2842: Understanding His Progress
Lin Mu was still confused about his situation but decided to hold it in for now as he noticed that many of the monks had returned to a state of trance.
Not just that, but their auras were flickering, as if they were on the precipice of a breakthrough.
"Amitabha, this blessing is far too great," an elder muttered.
"We have Bearer Lin Mu to thank for this," another elder said.
"I feel like I will progress soon as well," said an elder who had been stuck at a bottleneck for a long time.
"All those that are thinking of a breakthrough shall stay here. I'll be your Dharma Protector," the Abbot declared.
"We thank the Abbot," they all said in unison.
'Just what happened?' Lin Mu wondered before he finally checked the state of his body. 'Wait… My aura… what is this?' He could feel a transformation in his aura.
Usually, his aura was vigorous due to his rich vitality, but now it had changed to a much milder state. It didn't weaken in any form, though. Instead, it now felt calming and peaceful.
It made those around him feel comfortable.
It was a feeling that Lin Mu was familiar with.
'Isn't this the effect of the Calming Heart Sutra? How is it working even now when I'm not chanting?' Lin Mu couldn't help but wonder.
He pondered on it for a moment before finally sensing the state of the Calming Heart Sutra.
'Wait! It progressed?!' Lin Mu was stunned.
The progression had been very eye-catching, and yet to the owner, it felt like nothing. Only when he paid attention to it did he realize it.
'It's finally at the Fourth Stage… the True Internal Resonance stage…' Lin Mu understood.
The Fourth Stage was several times more potent than the previous three stages, and it was the final stage of the Sutra. Now, Lin Mu could not only use the Sutra internally to affect others, but it even had the passive effect of generating an aura like this.
'So this is Buddhist Aura…' Lin Mu had felt something similar around Monk Hushu when he used his techniques, but now he had it surrounding himself. 'What happens when I actually chant it in my mind?' he wondered before trying it out.
HUALA
As soon as he did, the words of the Sutra rang in his head.
'Let thy heart be as the moonlit pond—unmoving, clear, and deep. Release all suffering, and awaken to the boundless stillness beyond form. Behold, the Calming Heart Sutra!'
Lin Mu finally heard the true words of the Sutra.
Among all the sutras he had learned so far, only the Calming Heart Sutra didn't seem to have its true meaning revealed until now. He could use it directly through chanting the obscure words, but now they made sense to him.
Lin Mu instantly grew calm to a great extent and began to understand all that had happened. He looked around and saw everyone's state—their expressions, the changes in their aura, and the glow of Qi—grasping all of it at once.
'So the progression of the Sutra caused such a great effect on others.' Lin Mu hadn't expected this.
It made him wonder if the other Sutras would have such an effect too when they reached their peak.
'Will they also grant me different transformations?' he wondered. 'Different auras?'
The passive Buddhist Aura seemed to be quite pleasant, and keeping it active didn't seem harmful. Neither did it cause any drain on him. It appeared to be a natural part of his existence now.
'Can I turn it off, though?' Lin Mu wondered.
While keeping it active here was fine, he didn't know if others would react the same. Even if it wasn't unpleasant, it would certainly grab attention. That wouldn't be ideal when he was trying to stay covert.
SHUA
And sure enough, just as he willed it, the aura sank into his body, locked firmly like a vault.
Not the slightest wisp of the aura leaked out.
HUUU
Lin Mu let out a breath, relieved that controlling it was easy.
'I suppose I'll have to figure out its uses later,' he reckoned.
With that done, Lin Mu decided to take his leave.
He didn't wish to disturb the others, and since the Abbot was guarding them, he didn't think there would be any problems.
None of the monks had decided to leave. They were all meditating, having gained some benefit.
Lin Mu left the building without being stopped and stepped onto the empty peak.
"I suppose everyone is inside the Preaching Hall," Lin Mu muttered as he glanced at the paths that were covered with leaves.
There were a lot of them, and it looked like they had not been cleaned for a long time.
"How did so many leaves collect? It's barely been a day, isn't it?" Lin Mu muttered to himself.
It was then that he heard a chuckle.
"A day? It's been more than a month," the Saintess spoke, her form appearing in front of him.
"Saintess!" Lin Mu raised his brows. "What do you mean?"
"I suppose you were far too deep in a trance to realize it. Perhaps this will help."
The Saintess waved her hand, and the clouds gathered above her, turning into a blurry screen of air.
The air began to shift and soon showed scenes of the entire Green Lotus Temple—the giant beam of light descending upon the peak from the skies, as well as other phenomena that had occurred.
"All that… was due to me?" Lin Mu couldn't believe it.
"I was surprised too," the Saintess admitted. "I locked down the entire temple, just in case anyone tried to come and investigate," she added.
"Ah, thank you, Saintess." Lin Mu understood it was important since there weren't many guards posted right now, with all the monks present here.
And with such a large phenomenon, the surrounding cultivators would certainly try to approach them. It would be bad if they interfered in the monk's progress after all.
