What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?-Chapter 1048: Some Aerial Scouting

We popped up in the middle of a jungle and it looks like we got dropped right in the middle of a fight.

The groups that had gone ahead of us were now fighting against a Triceratops.

They had the dinosaur surrounded and a big guy using a tower shield was maintaining the aggro on the dino.

The three horned dino tried to ram its head against the tower shield and the guy merely took the blow without moving an inch.

In fact, he even shoved his arm back and forced the Triceratops to take a step back, clearly displaying superior strength.

The others attacked the Triceratops from the sides and scored hits along its hide, drawing blood. Several spells were also lobbed at it and the dinosaur stumbled another step back as it tried to regain its footing.

I was just about to join in when Sharille leapt into the air with her greatsword held above her head.

Her body glowed for a moment before she dropped down to crash on top of the Triceratops, a beam of light appearing and slicing the dinosaur in half.

There was a moment of silence before the two halves of the Triceratops separated and fell onto the ground with a soft thud.

She then went up to pick up the Mana Crystal that dropped out and looked at everyone around, "I'll be claiming this. Any objections?"

Everyone shook their heads.

Wait, really? You can just do that? The one who lands the last blow or kills it gets the claim? Is that how it works?

Or is it because everyone here knows that she's stronger than they were so they didn't object to it?

Well… My party wasn't involved in the fight anyway so it's not my place to comment on this.

But it seems like she already has a head start on us huh?

The rest of the raid party popped into existence behind us and a scout was assigned to each of the Dungeoneer parties including us so that we could look for a spot where the knights could build a fortification.

The others got ready to depart but I already had an idea of what I could do to speed up this process.

The scout assigned to us was a rather petite female Nekomata which was surprising since I've only been seeing Mahuns around here so far.

She stood a little straighter when I approached, "Greetings! I am Emi of the Scout group! I will be in your care!"

"Oh, hello Emi. I'm Aster, leader of this party. I just have one question for you… Are you afraid of heights?"

She blinked at me, "Eh? Umm… Not really? Why?"

"Alright then, could you turn around?"

She seemed confused by my request but obeyed nevertheless.

I then moved behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist from behind which made her let out a gasp of surprise.

"E… Eh? Umm… Miss Aster? I… I think we should get to know each oth--"

I didn't hear what she said since I was focused on unfurling my wings from my back before letting out a single warning, "Hold on tight!"

I gave her a second to register my words before I shot up into the sky while carrying her. freёnovelkiss.com

The scout understandably let out a scream of panic so I made sure to hold on to her tightly in case she flailed around but thankfully, she simply grabbed onto my arms while she screamed so it was fine.

"Ahem… Is this high enough to scout?" I asked, trying to get her to focus on the actual reason why I brought her up here.

It took her a few moments but she quickly got over her surprise, "Ha… Ha… Umm… Please give me a warning next time… Umm… I think you can go higher… And maybe fly in a circle for a little bit?"

Good thing she wasn't lying about the fact that she's ok with heights and recovered quickly.

I did as she asked and started flying in a circle around our area.

After she had gotten over her initial surprise at being lifted into the air, she quickly took out a notebook and began sketching and noting down the terrain below us.

I can see why they needed us to bring a scout specifically because in just a few seconds, the Nekomata had drawn a pretty accurate sketch of the terrain below and even noted the clearings she had seen in just a short time in the air.

"Umm… This should be good enough, we can go back down now."

I did as she asked and flew us back towards the location of where we had entered the Dungeon from, using my girls' location as my marker.

When I landed on the ground, I realised that the other Dungeoneer parties didn't go anywhere and had remained where they were, probably because they realised it was pointless for them to scout when they had me as an aerial scout to begin with.

I released the Nekomata and she quickly went over to the Knight Captain with her notebook, presumably to give him the location of a possible place to set up.

Unexpectedly, Emilia suddenly came over and turned her back to me before she backed up intentionally to push her back against me.

She didn't say anything but I already realised what she wanted so I just hugged her from behind like how I had hugged the scout from earlier.

She let out a cute purr and cuddled herself into my embrace.

So cute~

While I was busy hugging her, the Knight Captain returned with the scout following beside him.

"Miss Aster, thank you for the help. We have identified a good position to set up so could I ask for your help again in carrying our scout up once more? Since it does not seem like this place allows compasses to work."

Oh, I forgot about that.

"Sure, but err… How is Emi going to recognise the place then?"

"I drew landmarks, Miss Aster. I was identifying the positions through the usage of landmarks instead of direction," She explained.

Oh that's smart.

I separated from Emilia who seemed to be a little bit unhappy that I was going to carry the scout again so I made up my mind secretly to give her another cuddle once I got back.

This time, the scout girl came forward of her own accord and I hugged her once again from behind.

"Ready?"

She gave me a nod before I leapt into the sky once more.

Looking below, I could see the Knight Captain gesturing at the others to start moving so I focused on the Nekomata I was carrying as she aligned her map with the terrain below us.

"There! We're going to use that clearing as our fighting position!" She told me while pointing a finger.

I looked in the direction she pointed and I saw a rather unassuming clearing in the middle of a sea of trees.

I was wondering why the Knight Captain would pick that since it wasn't the biggest clearing around here until I realised that the safe zone where the stairs were was just a short distance away from there.

He probably considered the possibility of being overrun and needing and quick escape route so he chose the place that was closest to the exit.

Or maybe it's also because this might end up being an extended operation so they would need to make trips back to the surface to transport supplies?

Either way, I angled myself so that I was flying towards the clearing, making sure that I was gliding at a slow pace so that the people below could see me and follow me to the clearing.

Along the way, it seemed like they had to stop a few times because of a few dinosaur attacks but each time the dinosaurs were quite easily dealt with so I didn't need to join them.

For myself, there was one of those flying types of dinosaurs that spotted me and flew over to engage me but I simply fired a fireball in its direction and that was enough to scare it away apparently.

While we were flying, I realised the Nekomata had taken out a board to hang around her neck with a lanyard and there were several rulers and stuff attached to the board with a single piece of paper clipped on it.

"Err… What are you doing?" I asked.

"Ah! Erm… I'm drawing a proper map of the area, Miss Aster. You don't need to mind me!"

"Oh that's cool. So you're mapping this floor of the Dungeon?"

"Umm… Sort of… Since the entrance will always drop you randomly, we'll need a map to identify the area so in case we need to leave and reenter this floor, we can find our way back quickly… And usually I have to do this on the ground so being able to do this in the air is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I hope you don't mind…"

"Not at all, go ahead."

"Thank you so much!!"

I even made sure to fly even more carefully so that I don't jerk her around too much, allowing her to draw her map.

I have to say though… She is cute.

Not as cute as Emilia of course. I'll have to cuddle her later~
