Chapter 171 - CH: 170 Only One Man Needed
{Chapter: 170 Only One Man Needed}
"Get out of the way, you lunatic!" Jill shouted as the rockets tore through the air, heading straight for them.
"That's totally unnecessary. You drive!" William snapped, grabbing Ada's hand and forcing it onto the steering wheel. Without another word, he suddenly flung himself out of the truck, smashing through the windshield like a human missile.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Ada screamed after him, gripping the wheel to steady the vehicle.
With an icy expression, William soared through the air, his hand snapping out with perfect precision to seize the warhead of an incoming rocket. The sheer force of the impact sent vibrations through his arm, but his grip remained firm.
"Oh my God..." Ada gasped, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Fuck you, you're watermelon!" William roared, his voice brimming with wild energy. With a violent heave, he hurled the captured rocket back toward its sender.
Boom!
A fiery explosion tore through the air as the redirected rocket found its mark, obliterating an off-road vehicle into a smoking heap of twisted metal. The shockwave rattled the surroundings, sending bodies and debris flying.
William landed effortlessly atop the truck's roof, barely fazed. "Keep driving forward! Crush them all! Show no mercy!" he commanded, his voice dripping with cold authority.
"This lunatic..." Jill muttered, shaking her head in exasperation.
"I like William so much..." Terry murmured, her cheeks flushed, eyes shimmering with admiration.
Ada rolled her eyes. "You're already terminally ill. Seek help."
As the truck barreled forward, motorcycle-riding zombies wheeled around, some firing their weapons while others turned to charge the vehicle head-on, undeterred by the destruction William had just wrought.

Meanwhile, in a sleek black Rolls-Royce speeding ahead, Luther twisted in his seat, glancing back with concern. "What the hell is happening back there?"
"A truck is plowing through the undead," Leon reported, peering out the rear window.
Alice, seated beside him, smirked. "They're coming."
"William and the others?" Luther asked.
Alice's smirk widened. "Who else do you think?"
Behind them, the truck tore through the horde, leaving a path of mangled bodies and wreckage in its wake. The relentless advance of the vehicle soon brought it side by side with the Rolls-Royce as both approached Moscow's iconic Red Square.
As the vehicles skidded to a halt, Alice and William stepped out simultaneously, locking eyes as they strode toward each other.
A guttural, bone-chilling roar echoed across the square, cutting through the tense silence. The sound was deep, primal—hungry.
"Oh, great... our little friend is back," a nameless commando muttered, gripping his weapon tighter.
William's gaze darkened, his lips curling into an amused, yet menacing smirk. There were too many people here. It seemed necessary to... thin the crowd.
"Get in the car, now!" Alice barked.
"It's too late!" Luther shouted, his gun blazing as he fired desperately at the source of the noise.
Emerging from the shadows, the massive licker sprinted into view, its grotesque body a nightmarish blur of muscle and exposed sinew. Bullets riddled its flesh, but the creature hardly slowed. It let out another piercing shriek before propelling itself forward with terrifying speed.
"Scatter!" Ada yelled.
The team broke into a frenzied dash, splitting apart as the monstrous creature landed with an earth-shaking impact. The unlucky extra at the back tripped over a stray rock, his face twisting in horror as he turned to see death approaching.
The licker took two steps forward. Its grotesque claws sliced through the air.
"No—! AHHHH!"
A sickening crunch. Blood sprayed in all directions as the unfortunate soul was torn apart in an instant.
William, standing nearby, watched the brutal spectacle unfold, his smirk deepening. The first one had fallen. Now, who would be next? Alice? No. Jill? No. Ada and Terry? Not them either. That left only two potential candidates: Luther and Leon.
Gunfire erupted again as the team unleashed everything they had, yet the licker moved like a shadow, weaving between bullets, its hunger undeterred. The monstrous tongue lashed out, slamming into a car and sending it skidding across the pavement.
"Come here, you ugly bastard!" William taunted, his voice sharp and commanding.
The licker roared and turned toward him, its beady black eyes narrowing.
"William, be careful!" Terry called out, worry etched into her face.
William merely grinned and took off, sprinting at a controlled pace, ensuring the beast stayed just behind him. Every step was calculated. Every motion precise. The licker's claws grazed his back, missing by mere inches. Its grotesque tongue lashed out, only for him to twist away at the last moment.
"Move!" William suddenly barked at Luther, who was directly in the creature's path.
Luther's instincts kicked in, and he lunged to the side. But William wasn't about to let him escape so easily.
At the last possible second, William vaulted into the air, soaring seven meters high. The licker, now unimpeded, saw only one target ahead.
Luther.
Realization dawned in his wide, terrified eyes.
The licker pounced.
Luther dove, rolling onto the ground, narrowly dodging the beast's crushing impact.
Or so he thought.
A wet, sickening squelch rang through the square.
"Ahhhhh—!"
The licker's grotesque tongue had speared through his body like a harpoon, pinning him to the ground.
William landed gracefully, shaking his head in mock sympathy. "What an unfortunate scene."
"Luther!" Alice screamed, her eyes blazing with fury.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The air vibrated as pulse waves detonated, sending shockwaves through the square. The ground cracked apart, debris flying in all directions. A powerful blast slammed into the licker, sending it hurtling backward, its body convulsing in pain.
William looked at the licker that was blown away by the pulse wave, with a trace of regret in his eyes. He wanted to use it to kill Leon as well.
Alice, Leon, and the others rushed to Luther's side. "Luther, hang in there!" Alice asked.
Luther coughed, blood dribbling from his lips. "I... I don't think..." His words faded, his body going limp before he could finish.
Silence.
Leon slowly rose, his gaze locking onto William with cold accusation. "You did that on purpose."
William spread his hands innocently. "How could you say that? That thing was too strong. Even I had to avoid it." His lips curled in amusement. "But I'm deeply saddened by Luther's passing. Life is just so... unpredictable."
Alice's eyes narrowed, her mind racing. She was 80% certain William had orchestrated it, but no one could stop what this guy wanted to do.
Ada checked her smartwatch. "Time's up. We need to move."
Leon clenched his fists but said nothing. One by one, they turned and made their way toward the underground station.
William followed at the rear, his smirk never fading. Soon, Leon. This group only needed one man, and it sure as hell wasn't going to be you.
As they entered the subway, a small figure ran toward them.
"D@ddy! Mommy!"
Becky sprinted straight into William's arms, her face beaming with joy. "D@ddy, I'm so glad you're okay!"
William smiled down at her, the only genuine warmth in his expression that night.
