"Be careful." Dora was too late to help, she could only shout in surprise.

The lead wolf’s paw was getting closer and closer to Vivian’s shoulder, but whether it was Lina, Pannis, or Vivian, none of them seemed to react as the wolf gradually neared Vivian.

As the gigantic paw landed on her shoulder, the wolf advancing suddenly halted, its fluffy face betraying a human-like expression of confusion. It was unable to move further. The massive paw, normally covered in pitch-black fur, quickly frosted over as the wolf paused. Frost swiftly spread up its two paws, crackling as it thickened to cover the entire wolf’s body in less than three seconds, transforming the lead wolf into a wolf-shaped ice sculpture.

Under the force of gravity and inertia, the airborne wolf began to topple sideways. Vivian slightly leaned forward to dodge the two freezing paws nearly touching her. Having lost its target, the frozen statue kept advancing due to momentum until it collided with the side of the open cart. It was pushed back by the rebounding force and fell onto the ground. The impact was not powerful, but a sound of shattering crystal rang out from inside the sculpture, and numerous tiny cracks appeared on the surface. Eventually, it cracked into over a dozen pieces with a loud snap. The break lines showed no traces of blood, only the thoroughly frozen muscles and blood vessels.

"Wow." Lina exclaimed in surprise, "Vivian, you’re quicker than I thought."

"Hehe, of course." Vivian responded with a self-satisfied smile, "You’re in the presence of the greatest Mage prodigy in centuries. There’s nothing to be surprised about."

"You... became an Upper Gold Rank mage didn’t you?" Pannis scrutinized Vivian and stroked his chin, "When did you advance? I didn’t notice."

"Last night." Vivian answered arrogantly, her pigtails swaying like windmill toys, "I kept it a secret on purpose to surprise you guys today. Hehe, Big Sis, Lina, this time I beat you to the punch."

"You really have some nerve." Catherine, however, wasn’t pleased. "As long as you understand." Catherine’s face finally softened into a smile, "After we finish this mission and get back home, we’ll celebrate. We’ll celebrate our Vivian becoming stronger."

"Hehe." Vivian sneaked a glance at Catherine to confirm that she was really not angry anymore before she laughed happily again.

"Your team leader is quite strict." Dora resumed her seat and tidied up her weapon, jesting, "She’s really authoritative."
