Omegaverse: Salted Fish Life in the Yaoi Novel
Chapter 51: Ch : Blind Ascents and Slippery Schemes
While the other guests wrestled with their own thoughts, physical limits, and interpersonal tensions across the sprawling parkour course, Su Wanyan moved through the wall climbs with an almost otherworldly grace.
The blindfold wrapped securely around her eyes plunged her world into darkness, but the Perfect Foundation Potion’s enhancements sharpened her perception of her surroundings in remarkable ways. She could sense subtle shifts in air currents, the faint vibrations through the platforms, and the spatial layout around her with heightened clarity.
Su Wanyan extended her hand, fingers brushing the rough texture of the wall in front of her. She stretched upward, testing the distance, then jumped lightly. Her palm met solid rock.
She jumped again, this time with more height, and when her hands found empty space above, she gripped firmly with one hand, followed immediately by the other, pulling herself up in a smooth, controlled motion. A small, satisfied smile curved her lips beneath the blindfold. This strategy is working perfectly.
She paused briefly to reorient herself, then repeated the process—feeling the wall, calculating the leap, and committing with precise strength. Each successful pull brought a quiet thrill of confidence. This is easier than I thought, she mused, her competitive edge sharpening as she advanced.
The live barrage exploded with awe and playful exaggeration:
[Man, Su Wanyan really is a freak of nature.]
[Fr, it’s like she has powers or something.]
[Seriously though, look at how high she’s jumping. Dare I say she jumps higher than some professional sports players.]
[Not only that, the fact that she can hold her weight with one hand is so amazing.]
[Agreed, and the fact that her veins started to show whenever she does that is so hot!]
[Now that you pointed that out.. fuck, I’mma need to go to the bathroom real quick.]
[Not to be that guy, but what are you planning to do in the bathroom?]
[What adults do when they see something hot.]
[CAN WE KEEP THINGS PG HERE? THANK YOU.]
Su Wanyan remained blissfully unaware of the chat’s descent into chaos, focused entirely on the task. She continued her methodical climbing until a new scent reached her—something artificial and slick. Frowning, she completed her usual technique and pulled herself onto the next platform. Not this one, she noted with relief.
She advanced cautiously, sniffing the air again. The scent was stronger here. She leaped, but her hand slipped on the soaped surface. "Oh!" The exclamation escaped her as she dropped safely onto the padded ground below. Even without the fall hurting, the surprise was evident in her posture.
The barrage reacted instantly with worry:
[SU WANYAN!!!]
[MY BABY!!]
[MO XINGXUE’S BABY!!]
[Mo Yan: ???]
[What is the production team doing?! Su Wanyan could’ve gotten hurt!]
[Fr. Not to mention this is already dangerous even without blindfolds, while she did this blindfolded.]
[Smh, that almost gave me a heart attack.]
Su Wanyan stayed remarkably calm. She touched the slimy residue on her arms and sleeves, her frown deepening. I knew it. Soap.
PD Xu Cui, monitoring from a control area, burst into laughter over the announcer system. "You’re so sharp, Su Wanyan!"
Su Wanyan shook her head wryly, tilting her face toward the sound. "A heads up would’ve been nice," she called back, her tone light but pointed. PD Xu Cui’s laughter only grew louder.
The other alphas, who were just beginning to don their own blindfolds, exchanged confused glances. What was the PD talking about? They ultimately shrugged it off—a decision that would soon lead to their own frustrations.
Su Wanyan pressed on with renewed focus. She jumped higher this time, slamming both elbows onto the soaped platform and using the fabric of her sweater to absorb some of the slickness for better grip.
With a powerful pull, she hauled herself up successfully. Her boots provided excellent traction as she walked carefully to the next wall, avoiding slips. Another sniff confirmed it was also sabotaged. She adapted her technique once more, succeeding with determination.
Just as she prepared to continue, a staff member gently stopped her. "Teacher Su, please change positions." He added kindly, "And if an omega guest touches you, please don’t make a sound—it might reveal who you are."
Su Wanyan nodded graciously and thanked him with her usual gentle smile. After a moment’s thoughtful pause, she moved toward the farthest left—Zhao Yichen’s original position.
Meanwhile, the omegas, also blindfolded, began navigating the platform area. Han Jiho chuckled confidently. "I already know who this is." Song Meiyu followed with a soft laugh. "There’s only one consistent first runner, after all."
Mo Xingxue moved forward with quiet determination, hands outstretched as she searched for Su Wanyan. Han Jiho and Song Meiyu stayed back to avoid interfering. In the corner, however, Lin Xuanyu edged dangerously closer to Su Wanyan’s new position.
The barrage grew frantic:
[HEY! GET BACK!!]
[MO XINGXUE, YOU’RE WIFE IS GOING TO GET STOLEN!]
[HOLD MY PURSE!]
[I’MMA BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF YOU IF YOU DON’T MOVE AWAY!]
[MOVE, BITCH. MOVE!]
[I think I’m about to shit my pants from nervousness!]
Lin Xuanyu was only inches away now, tension in the chat reaching a fever pitch.

On the other side of the course, the remaining alphas struggled significantly with the wall climbs. "This is so unreal!" Qin Yuran yelled, still battling the first wall.
Zhao Yichen nodded in exhausted agreement beside her, desperately jumping to find a grip. He failed and bumped his head against the wall with a resounding thud. "Ouch!" he exclaimed, rubbing his forehead.
Qin Yuran burst into laughter, momentarily losing her own focus.
Gu Chengze, listening to their complaints, snorted coldly in disdain. Incompetent idiots. He jumped higher, teeth gritted. When that failed, dark thoughts swirled. That PD must have done this on purpose to ruin me. He already began mentally planning how to ruin the PD’s career later. What can a mere PD do to the CEO of Zen Corporation?
Pushing through his bruised pride, he finally gripped the edge and hauled himself up with visible difficulty, panting heavily from the cumulative exhaustion of the entire day’s challenges.
PD Xu Cui, observing from the monitor, nodded in satisfaction. This was exactly the kind of raw struggle he had anticipated—unlike Su Wanyan’s near-effortless dominance. He shuddered slightly. I pity her future partner... No, I pity Mo Xingxue.
Qin Yuran and Zhao Yichen eventually gave up on solo attempts and decided to team up. "It’s not against the rules, right?" Qin Yuran asked, grinning. Zhao Yichen laughed and positioned himself as a human ladder. Qin Yuran stepped on his back, reached the edge, and pulled herself up with effort. Once up, she dropped to her knees and extended a hand. "Here!"
Zhao Yichen grabbed it, and together they managed to get him up as well. They attempted a celebratory fist bump but kept missing, eventually resulting in Qin Yuran accidentally hitting him in the chest. "Ow!" Zhao Yichen yelped. Qin Yuran doubled over in laughter. "So-sorry!"
The barrage found them endlessly entertaining:
[Lol, these two are my happy pills]
[It’s like two idiots just chilling.]
["The blind leading the blind" ahh type of situation.] 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
[It’s so funny seeing these two collaborate while Gu Chengze struggle, lol.]
[Exactly my thoughts, haha.]
"Shouldn’t we stop them, PD?" a staff member asked hesitantly, hovering near the monitor station with visible concern.
PD Xu Cui, watching the chaotic feed intently, let out a long sigh. I can never understand those two, he thought, rubbing his temple.
He ultimately decided to let events unfold naturally. "Let them be," he said, shaking his head with a mix of amusement and resignation. "It wasn’t in our rules after all."
Gu Chengze, already on a higher platform, frowned. Did they forget this is a competition? He shook his head, deciding it was better not to try understanding them. He focused on climbing, forgetting the PD’s earlier ambiguous announcement.
Reaching the third platform, he took a short break, shamelessly lifting his shirt to wipe sweat from his face and torso. The barrage immediately reacted:
[Ooh lala.]
[Six packs?!]
[Man, Lin Xuanyu is so lucky.]
[What a feast for the eyes, woohoo!]
[Ha.. how I desperately wish Su Wanyan did this too.]
[Nah, she won’t do that.]
[Why not?]
[Duh, because her body is only for Mo Xingxue to see.]
[Ooh, makes sense.]
Gu Chengze finished resting and stood before the next wall. Assuming all walls were uniform in size, he attempted his previous jumping strategy again. What he didn’t expect was the slippery soap. His hand slipped on the edge, causing him to lose balance and tumble downward—directly knocking into Qin Yuran, who was helping Zhao Yichen.
The three crashed back to the very bottom in a tangled heap. Zhao Yichen and Qin Yuran lay there for a moment, brains momentarily short-circuiting in confusion.
"What the heck was that?!" Qin Yuran exclaimed, sitting up in confusion.
Gu Chengze stood, irritation etched across his handsome face. "You were in the way," he said coldly.
Qin Yuran’s mouth fell open in outrage. "Do you hear—?!"
Zhao Yichen quickly pulled her back. "Let’s just do it all again."
Qin Yuran huffed but stood, reluctance radiating from her. Gu Chengze, secretly listening, huffed in satisfaction before climbing once more, his bruised pride pushing him forward.
