Our Family Has Fallen
Chapter 1061 - 590: Bay 12
Upon emerging, he encountered eerie shipwreck remnants, and the tragic state of the surrounding drowned undead made him seem to witness the agony of the ship flooding them alive.
Now they stood again with resentment, launching attacks on the living without hesitation.
And it wasn’t just one; all ten or so drowned undead around began crawling up, staggering stiffly towards Lance, the sole living being.
Lance noticed their bodies were unstable, and with the violently fluctuating evil aura, he understood what was going on.
Goddamn Corpse Explosion Technique!
He couldn’t even imagine what would happen if these undead exploded, but Lance definitely didn’t want rotten corpse bits to contaminate him.
Quickly drew his gun!
Not the slightest desire for close combat, Lance raised his gun and opened fire.
"Bang!"
The shell was fired from the barrel into the bloated corpse, immediately followed by a nauseating "pop" sound.
Rotting muscle tissue couldn’t possibly withstand the force of steel and gunpowder, instantly bursting open a large hole.
And his shot, like a needle bursting a balloon, caused the already unstable drowned undead to explode directly.
Greyish, rotting pus splattered, dissolving muscles burst into pieces, and a stench assailed Lance’s nostrils, instantly jolting him awake. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Lance was scared back a few steps, reacting and looking at the few drops of corpse water on himself with a twisted countenance of disgust.
A heavy blow to body and soul!
Despite never retreating a step when fighting the Giant Pincer Tidestealer, this strike was a critical hit to someone like Lance with a slight cleanliness obsession, too terrifying!
Luckily, at a distance, Lance wasn’t affected, quickly shooting those things down one by one.
Soon, the entire area was filled with shattered wreckage, rotting flesh floating on the water, and a strong rotten smell pervading the air.
Even the Deep Sea Shaman’s waves couldn’t suffocate Lance; they almost did.
The water underfoot seemed to have a tinge of grey-red, and just indirect contact made Lance feel itchy and uneasy.
Thankfully, Lance trained in the Beast Lair; otherwise, he would have barely held up, directly caving.
But just after Lance blew up these drowned undead, an eerie sound inexplicably rose in the supposedly silent space.
Different from the beautiful songs of the Siren, the melody from the hollow cave in the bay didn’t seem vocal.
Cheerful, light melodies began to swirl around the space, and it sounded like one would unconsciously sing along, moving to the dance steps.
Yet Lance’s understanding of these sounds had changed significantly; immersed in these melodies, he discovered only madness and death, no joy or fantasies.
If truly immersed in this swaying tune, one might be bewitched by the implicit strange power, unknowingly moving with the rhythm, eventually the heartbeat accelerating into extreme excitement leading to death.
Lance easily broke free of the enchantment, quickly focusing his gaze on the shipwreck remnants.
The sound was coming from above; was there something on the ship?
After uncovering the malicious curse hidden within the melody, instead of going up to eliminate it, Lance pulled out the Siren Conch and began to play.
The grand, majestic rumble arose, overshadowing the violin sound, as if noticing something, the drawn violin sound became more intense.
The Supernatural Power transformed into sonic waves colliding mid-air, the invisible confrontation surprisingly stirring up waves on the water surface.
Don’t fight anymore!
Having studied the usage of the Enchanting Voice through the Giant Pincer Tidestealer, Lance had gone through the range attack initiated by borrowing the Conch when battling the Siren, resulting in a swath of Deep Divers having their lives claimed by the roar.
Now Lance needed this kind of mowing ability; otherwise, it would be troublesome to kill stinking fish and rotten shrimp one by one.
And now, no enemy was more suited for him to practice against.
The acoustic battle wasn’t visible, but it was audible.
All one could say was that the two sounds in the cave were distinctly separate; either the conch sound overwhelmed the violin sound, or vice versa.
If an ordinary person were here, their heart might burst immediately from fright; even if not dying, the power contained within the sound would utterly drive them mad.
But the most straightforward observation was the unwarranted splashes on the water surface pushed towards the shipwreck.
Lance took a deep breath, stirred and breathed, playing the final attack, the massive roar like muffled thunder dispersing the violin sound completely.
Only then did Lance finally put down the conch; from initially struggling to breathe, to now controlling the sound, even concentrating it to break the opponent, this massive progress must be learned amidst fierce battles.
And now everything has finally ended; Lance had no intention to continue playing, starting to wade through the water to finish off the mastermind.
But when he approached the shipwreck, he realized it was genuinely large; even lacking the front half, sinking into the water still felt immense.
Moreover, what instinctively caused unease was the abundant evil aura atop, a taboo for the living; no one knew what this ship had gone through.
Everyone knew the ship was dangerous, and anyone else would have been cautious, even finding ways to destroy it rather than approach.
But Lance was indifferent, aiming to banish the wicked undead from this world.
Lance just thought to climb aboard but suddenly heard some sound, the clash of metal chains rather than the violin.
