Overpowered Resident Doctor
Chapter 366 - 365: Exposure
Water World was located between two small mountain ridges in the southern suburbs of Binhai, only a few kilometers from the Phoenix Tail Mountain Villa District and its golf course.
It was originally a pond spanning several thousand square meters, but a company later invested a huge sum of money to excavate and extensively renovate it, turning it into a water-themed amusement park.
What the citizens of Binhai loved most about the place was its large, realistic man-made beach.
The fine sand, which stretched for over a thousand meters along the lake’s edge, was said to be high-quality sea sand transported all the way from the South Sea. The lake even had artificially simulated waves.
Binhai’s own coastline was all mudflats and was also heavily polluted.
Coming to Water World on a Sunday to experience the feeling of strolling along a beach and sunbathing had become the next best thing for many Binhai residents.
The Yan siblings and Yu Suye drove to Water World, arriving a little after ten in the morning.
They met up with Jee Mingzhi, who had arrived a bit earlier. The group bought their tickets, entered together, and then went to their respective men’s and women’s changing rooms to get changed.
Yan Feifan was fully equipped with swim trunks, a tank top, a swim cap, and goggles.
Jee Mingzhi wore only a pair of swim trunks.
Sizing up Jee Mingzhi’s body, Yan Feifan had to admit the guy had a pretty good physique.
While he didn’t look like a gym regular with perfectly defined muscles, he had no obvious excess fat. His pectorals and thigh muscles were quite prominent, and his stomach was very flat.
As for Yan Feifan, after his recent period of exercise and taking traditional Chinese medicine to restore his vitality, his body had recovered quite a bit.
His physique could now be described as lean and slim; he no longer looked malnourished or sickly.
The two men waited for a good while before Yan Ziruo and Yu Suye finally came out of the changing room, hand in hand.
They were wearing more conservative one-piece swimsuits, one blue and one lavender, along with swim caps and goggles.
Watching these two curvaceous mermaids walk toward them, Yan Feifan complained, "You were just changing into swimsuits. It took you over forty minutes."
"Hmph, what do you know? We had to put on sunscreen!"
Yan Ziruo retorted. Feeling the sunshine, she smiled and said, "The temperature is perfect. Come on, let’s go on the high-altitude water slides..."
Water World had plenty of attractions, including various types of high-speed water slides, surfing, kayaking, water bumper cars, platform diving, and scuba diving.
There were also jet skis and water flight shows.
The park was mostly filled with families with young children and young couples...
Yan Feifan’s group only had time to wait in line for two or three rides before it was time for lunch.
Jee Mingzhi eagerly offered to treat them to the park’s highly acclaimed whole roasted pig.
On the way to the roasted pig, they had to cross the man-made beach.
Yan Feifan walked barefoot on the soft, sun-warmed sand, which felt quite comfortable.
Lots of children were laughing and shouting on the beach, either chasing each other in the shallow water or digging in the sand to build castles.
The parents, meanwhile, were lounging on rows of beach chairs under umbrellas, sipping drinks, eating fruit, and chatting with friends and family while keeping an eye on their children playing on the sand.
This scene made Yan Ziruo quite envious.
"Sunshine, beaches, villas..."
Yan Ziruo gushed, "Now *this* is the real life! Playing with your kids by the sea every day without a care in the world. How wonderful."
Yan Feifan rolled his eyes and said, "Sis, the seaside isn’t suitable for long-term living. It’s fine for the occasional vacation."
"You can go do some research. Very few fishing villages are built right on the coast; they’re all settled a few kilometers inland."
"The so-called ’sea-view apartments’ and ’sea-view villas’ that are so hyped up now are all just a scam to fool people like you who don’t know any better."
Yan Ziruo glared at her brother and huffed, "Oh, so you’re the expert."
Jee Mingzhi chimed in, "Feifan is right."
He continued, "I have a colleague who went with a tour group to Silver Beach on the Lu Province Peninsula, which they were promoting, and got tricked into buying a sea-view apartment."
"He regrets it immensely now. Forget about its value increasing—he can’t even sell it for half the price he paid."
Yan Ziruo huffed, "Then we’ll just go on vacation."
"We’ll take a vacation at a famous beach somewhere in the world every year or two. That should be fine, right?"
After saying this, Yan Ziruo noticed no one was responding and realized her brother had fallen behind.
Since Yan Feifan had stopped walking, Yu Suye naturally stopped as well.
As for Jee Mingzhi, he seemed to be admiring the scenery in the distance and hadn’t heard what she said.
Yan Ziruo huffed under her breath and walked back to her brother, following his gaze.
A few beach chairs were there, with people sitting or lying on them.
Beyond the chairs was a grove of ornamental trees.
Yan Ziruo didn’t see anything worth stopping to look at, so she asked, "Feifan, what are you looking at?"
Yan Feifan pointed and said, "The ball of that person’s foot!"
Jee Mingzhi came over too, looking in the direction Yan Feifan was pointing. He saw someone lying on a beach chair five or six meters away.
The person’s upper body and head were covered with a beach towel.
From the fair-skinned calves and small feet sticking out, one could deduce it was a woman.
Jee Mingzhi then noticed a dark, nickel-sized patch on the ball of the woman’s left foot.
Just then, he heard Yan Ziruo ask, "Feifan, that’s probably a mole or a birthmark. Do you see something wrong with it?"
Yan Feifan said softly, "Its diameter is over six millimeters, its border is irregular, and its color is uneven."
"If it’s a birthmark she’s had since birth, that’s one thing."
"But if it’s not, then it’s a problem."
"What kind of problem?" Jee Mingzhi asked curiously.
Yu Suye answered for Yan Feifan, "Melanoma, a type of malignant skin cancer."
Melanoma is a tumor that arises from the malignant transformation of melanocytes. It is highly malignant and most commonly occurs on the skin.
It can also occur on mucous membranes, including visceral mucosa, the uvea of the eye, and the leptomeninges, among other parts and tissues of the body.
It often appears on the skin of the extremities, such as the soles, toes, fingertips, and under the nails, as well as on mucous membranes like those in the nasal cavity, oropharynx, and the upper and lower digestive tracts.
After giving Jee Mingzhi and Yan Ziruo this brief medical explanation, Yu Suye looked at Yan Feifan and asked, "Should I go over and ask her about it?"
Yan Feifan nodded.
Yu Suye walked over and gently woke the person lying on the beach chair.
The woman, who looked to be around forty, sat up and pulled the towel away, a clear look of annoyance on her face.
Perhaps because Yu Suye was a beautiful young woman, she didn’t react too aggressively.
Jee Mingzhi, who had moved a little further away with the Yan siblings, watched as the two women spoke. During their back-and-forth, the woman lifted her left foot, looking at and feeling the sole, her expression growing solemn.
A moment later, Yu Suye walked back over.
"It started as just a mole. The woman had no idea it would grow this big. I’ve already advised her to go to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible."
"Is it really melanoma?" Jee Mingzhi asked.
Yan Feifan said softly, "I can only say there’s a high probability. However, if it’s caught early, it can be treated effectively."
"As long as it’s not in the late stages, the mortality rate for this type of cancer isn’t high..."
The group slowly walked across the rest of the beach.
What Yan Feifan didn’t know was that a woman holding a camera had already started following them quietly.
’Hmph, so he has time to come out and play, but no time to perform surgery for people.’
’I, Qiaoyan, am going to expose you for the hypocrite you are...’
