Fear?

What was that word?

To demons, the word fear never existed in their dictionary.

They only knew how to be fearless and ruthless!

They were demons, destined to rule the Divine World.

They might have failed in the past, but failure didn’t determine the end.

Instead, it was a learning process.

One where you learned from your mistake and strive for improvement. In contrast, the winner usually became lazy and conceited because of their victory and ended up training less.

That was the norm, right?

What could there be fearful of in failure and banishment?

Right...

Alas, right now, a demon elite was experiencing fear for the first time.

’How is this even possible??!’ Cedric cried inwardly, his back soaked heavily in sweat.

"Oh, please, I’m not a party guy. Let me just leave." He pleaded.

"Not a party guy?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow. "You’ve summoned so many hounds to attend the party. How could you try to leave early and not enjoy the party longer?"

His hand grasped tighter on Cedric’s shoulder.

In normal times, Cedric could easily fling his hand away. But he knew very well that the moment he showed any hint of hostility, the two figures in front would bombard him.

After all, contrary to the fake smiley Xu Feng, the two of them, Olivia and Kong Ming, held a very unfriendly expression.

"I guessed I’ll stay longer at the party." Cedric swallowed a mouthful of saliva and said.

"Hehe," Xu Feng chuckled in response.

A few seconds later, Cedric was handcuffed and sent over to the reinforcement that Olivia brought along.

To prevent any mishap, Olivia made sure to amplify the handcuffs and placed a heavy restriction on Cedric.

"Bring him to the capital prison, and no one is allowed to approach him without my permission," Olivia commanded sternly.

"Anyone who dares to disobey or throw their noble status weight to get entry shall be stripped of all status."

"Yes, Madam!" The soldiers saluted and promptly began to transport Cedric away. The latter didn’t even resist because there was no point.

’To think I’d be sold out by a Demon Lord...’ Cedric found it laughable. The hard work and humiliation he endured to summon a Demon Lord was actually that ridiculous.

Not only did they fail to deal any major damage, but they also tucked their wings and fled like cowards.

Without a doubt, even if he escaped the detainment and returned to Hell, he would be hunted down with false crimes attached to his head.

A disgraceful act such as this!

Demon Lord Karoos would never allow anyone to defame him, and he doubted anyone would even believe a demon elite over a demon lord.

While everyone was distracted by Cedric’s detainment, Xu Feng tried to sneak away from the site.

Alas, he didn’t get far when Olivia appeared in front of him. Her smile was so wide that it could literally give people diabetes from how sweet it was.

And Xu Feng would rather pass this kind of sweetness to someone else.

"Where do you think you’re going, Viscount Lin Feng?" Olivia asked gently.

His body tensed up slightly as he lifted his chin and glanced at Olivia.

"Nothing much, I just want to check on the civilians that were evacuating." He explained sheepishly.

"The others can handle those trivial tasks." Olivia giggled and wrapped her arm around his shoulder.

"The two of you wouldn’t mind me taking him away, right?" She then glanced at Kong Ming and Carmen.

"Hmm, I forgot I need to clean up the aftermath as the City Magistrate." Kong Ming feigned ignorance and promptly excused himself with a weak reason.

He kicked the ground and immediately soared to the sky, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

With Kong Ming gone, Olivia soon shifted her sight to Xu Feng.

Carmen was quickly left in a dilemma. She glanced at Xu Feng, who had a pleading look, and then at the sweet yet clearly stern Olivia.

She took a deep breath and exhaled softly.

"With all due respect, Judge Olivia. Our Guild Leader might be a bit impudent with his words earlier, but you must admit that his negotiation helped avoid a big crisis for the Divine World." She explained, clearly choosing her stance to side with Xu Feng.

In other times, she might joke and leave him to rot. However, she couldn’t possibly do so when she had seen his efforts.

Others might not understand him or even call him hypocritical and scums at times, but to her, he was a hero.

One that didn’t seek recognition or approval from others.

He only operated on what he believed in and upheld them without ever compromising anything.

Not to mention, it remained a fact that there weren’t many casualties because of Xu Feng’s quick judgment and adaptation.

Olivia didn’t anticipate such a reaction from Carmen.

"You have a great subordinate and lover." She commented and teased the two of them lightly.

"Rest assured, I’m not going to punish him for anything. Instead, his deeds had already been spread to the emperor’s ears, so he’s being summoned for an audience."

"The emperor?" Both Xu Feng and Carmen raised an eyebrow and questioned at the same time.

To be summoned by the emperor at this juncture was indeed somewhat of a surprise.

After all, it should have taken a while before the emperor received news of the situation and then went through multiple protocols to summon them.

"When you dialed a distress call with me, the emperor was next to me," Olivia explained casually.

"Oh..." Xu Feng’s mouth opened slightly as he realized why and how the emperor learned of his deed so quickly.

So it was because he overheard everything through the communication.

Although it was unexpected, Xu Feng didn’t mind this kind of event.

"By the way, about the destruction of the Teleport Platform..."

"Oh, don’t worry," Olivia suddenly flashed a cold smile.

"Every member involved in that guild is hereby detained until further notice."

This kind of severity was not something she would allow them to escape lightly.

Had it not been Xu Feng and Kong Ming doing their best to stall for their arrival, she couldn’t imagine the consequences of letting a Demon Lord run loose in the Divine World.
