SSS Rank: Infinite Enhancement, I Can Upgrade Everything to God Tier!
Chapter 148: [] : Founding the Eclipse Legion, The Corporate Tax
Declan stood alone on the high stone balcony of his central keep. He rested his hands on the cold iron railing and looked out over his territory.
The toxic rain had finally stopped outside the massive black energy dome. The Iron Bastion was completely secure.
He reached into the pocket of his dark Predator’s Coat. He pulled out a small, heavy coin.
The Warlord Citadel Token rested in his palm. It was made of pristine white gold and pulsed with a warm, inviting light. It was the absolute ultimate loot drop from the Abyssal Tide server event.
This little piece of metal was the key to taking absolute control over the sector.
"System," Declan commanded casually out loud. "Open the enhancement menu."
The familiar blue holographic screen popped up right in front of his face. The digital interface rendered perfectly in the real-world air. He looked at his Origin Point balance sitting at the top of the screen.
He had over thirty million points sitting in his treasury. He had entirely bankrupted the Neon Syndicate guild leader earlier. He had hoarded all the massive rewards from the server wipe event. He was disgustingly rich. He was not worried about the cost of anything anymore.
"Target the Warlord Citadel Token. Enhance it to plus twenty. Ignore the safety warnings and push it through."
A blinding white light erupted from his hand. The system chimes hammered rapidly inside his skull.
[System Enhancement Initiated]
[Warning: Divine Anomaly items possess extreme data density. Enhancement past Level 5 will cause catastrophic server destabilization.]
Declan did not blink. He did not cancel the prompt. He just let his SSS-Rank talent do all the heavy lifting.
[Talent: Boundless Enhancement overriding error]
↳ Safety protocols bypassed.
↳ Cap removed.
[Warlord Citadel Token +5... +10... +15... +20]
The white light shifted violently. It turned into a deep, vibrating purple energy that completely swallowed his hand. The physical shape of the coin began to warp and stretch. The pristine white gold melted away like hot wax.
It was replaced by a jagged, pitch-black metal slab covered in glowing red runes. It looked heavy. It looked incredibly dangerous. It looked completely corrupted by his Abyssal Sovereign class.
[Item has reached +20]
[Triggering Conceptual Mutation...]
The system text in his vision flashed brightly with a glaring golden light.
[Item Mutated: Eclipse Faction Core]
↳ Tier: Sovereign (Glitch Variant)
↳ Functionality: This core grants the user absolute administrative control over a massive landmass. Upgrades the current Safe Zone to a Level 6 Systemic Sovereign Faction. The Warlord holds the power to rewrite local game laws, forcefully recruit NPCs, and access deep-server communication logs.
Declan smiled. That was exactly what he wanted.
He did not wait. He gripped the heavy black slab with his right hand. He walked over to the main administrative console sitting on the balcony and slammed the metal directly into the glowing terminal.
The console shrieked with a loud metallic grinding sound. The dark purple energy from the slab poured into the machine, rapidly rewriting the code of the entire city.
The ground shook violently. The massive black iron walls of the city grew thicker and taller. The automated turrets on the battlements glowed with a sharper, more lethal blue light. The heavy iron gates reinforced themselves with thick layers of dark matter.
A massive golden banner unrolled across the sky inside the dome. Everyone in the courtyard below looked up in complete shock.
[System Announcement: The Iron Bastion has been upgraded]
[Level 6 Systemic Sovereign Faction established: The Eclipse Legion]
↳ Guild Master: Player V
Declan pulled up his new administrative interface. The menus were completely different now. He had access to city management tools that regular players didn’t even know existed.
He could set specific patrol routes for his shadow clones. He could automate the forges to run without manual input. He could instantly transfer items across the entire city without using a courier.
But as he scrolled through the new faction settings, a small red warning icon blinked in the corner of his screen.
[Warning: Unauthorized network access detected]
↳ Foreign IP addresses found within the local server channel.
Declan frowned. He tapped the red icon with his finger. A list of hidden players popped up on his screen.
There were six of them. They were not physically standing in the Iron Bastion. They were using high-tier stealth software to squat in his local chat channels. They were sitting outside his walls, tapping into the city’s frequency.
They were listening to the communications of his players. They were spying on his city’s inventory logs.
Declan pulled up their character profiles. The Level 6 Faction authority easily bypassed their privacy settings.
[Player Information]
↳ Name: Hidden
↳ Class: Corporate Recon Scout
↳ Guild: Apex Paradigm
"Apex Paradigm," Declan chuckled darkly. "Director Sterling really does not know when to quit."
The megacorp had just lost a massive hit squad. They had lost a Level 100 Eradicator trying to kill him. They had lost control of the entire server.
Now, they were sending invisible scouts to hide in the digital chat logs and gather intel on his new base. They wanted to know how much raw material he had. They wanted to know his troop numbers.
They thought their high-level stealth gear made them perfectly safe. They thought they were just invisible ghosts taking notes from a safe distance.
They forgot who owned the local server.
Declan did not pull out his +40 Eclipse Severance halberd. He did not need to physically hunt them down in the muddy wastelands. He had root access to the entire faction database now.
He opened the administrative command terminal. He selected all six foreign IP addresses at once.
A standard guild leader could kick a player out of a chat room. A Sovereign Faction Warlord could do a lot more than just hit the mute button.
"You guys are using my bandwidth," Declan said smoothly to the empty balcony. "That means you are using my city’s resources. And nobody stays in my city for free."
He navigated to the financial penalty tab. It was a tool designed to fine players who broke guild rules or damaged guild property.
Declan bypassed the standard penalty limits. He just typed in the absolute maximum number the system could physically process.
He selected the auto-deduct from target treasury option.
He hit confirm.
Somewhere in the ruins of Sector 7, six corporate scouts were hiding in a dark, flooded basement. They were completely invisible, recording the chatter of the Iron Bastion. They felt completely secure.
Suddenly, their personal interfaces exploded with glaring red notifications.
[System Penalty Applied: Unauthorized Squatting]
↳ Fine Issued by Administrator: Player V.
↳ Deducting 500,000 Origin Points from personal account.
[Transaction Complete]
↳ Deducting 500,000 Origin Points from personal account.
[Transaction Complete]
The system alarms hammered in their heads. Their bank accounts were being violently emptied in real-time. The corporate funds they had been given to buy top-tier gear, the emergency reserves they needed to survive the apocalypse, all of it was just vanishing!
They could not stop it. They could not cancel the transfer. The Warlord’s administrative authority was absolute.
Declan stood on his balcony and watched his own treasury balance shoot up.
[Origin Points Transferred: +500,000]
[Origin Points Transferred: +500,000]
[Origin Points Transferred: +500,000]
[Origin Points Transferred: +500,000]
[Origin Points Transferred: +500,000]
[Origin Points Transferred: +500,000]
He literally drained them dry in less than three seconds. He took three million points straight out of Apex Paradigm’s pockets without even throwing a single punch.
He did not stop there. Taking their money was just the tax. Now came the eviction.
He selected the six empty accounts. He pulled up the final administrative command on his list.
[Target Action: Permanent IP Ban and Physical Ejection]
"System. Throw the trash out," Declan ordered.
He hit the execute button.
The six corporate scouts were instantly ripped out of their stealth cloaks. The game engine grabbed their physical bodies and forcefully launched them across the sector map.
They flew through the real-world air like thrown baseballs. They were entirely unable to control their movements. They flew right past the glowing dome of the Iron Bastion and crashed face-first into the toxic, monster-infested mud of the Ashen Bog.
[Access Denied. You are permanently banned from Sector 7.]
Declan closed the menu. The red warning icon disappeared from his vision.
He had his new guild. He had his massive city. And he had just successfully taxed the corporate spies into total bankruptcy.
It was time to get his own army to work.
