The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1211: Connecting the Two Worlds
For the next four days, China experienced a continuous tense situation that could truly be called a national crisis, at least politically.
The Red Moon Guild disbanded, with many of their higher-ups captured. Their guild master, Wei Zhenyuan, was announced dead after battling the three guild masters from the three big guilds. His son, Wei Zhenhai, was also caught after trying to escape.
If not for the announcement from the Hunter Association and the big guilds to avoid conducting a witch hunt against the hunters of the Red Moon Guild, many people would have antagonized or even killed them simply because of their affiliation.
Many government officials also stepped down from their positions because of their connections with the Red Moon Guild. However, they stepped down while also dragging others with them, people they believed shared responsibility for everything that happened.
Some of them even held high-ranking government positions, which threw China’s political circle into chaos. The people’s trust in the government plummeted, and ideas about starting a revolution even began to spread.
However, the military, with the cooperation of the Hunter Association and all the guilds, managed to lessen the people’s wrath and suppress those trying to incite even more chaos during this fragile situation. During these past few days, China was truly in a vulnerable state where its domestic situation could have led to civil war.
Thanks to the efforts of the various parties, especially the Hunter Association, the four big guilds, and the military, the chaos was eventually contained. The president also was not too stubborn and understood what was best for the nation.
He listened to General Bai’s suggestion and followed the plan that had already been arranged together with the Hunter Association and the four big guilds, which allowed the people to still retain some faith in the central government.
After a week, the situation finally started calming down. The purge operation was completed, with all suspects connected to the Malignant captured and imprisoned. They now waited for judgment, though many people already guessed the punishment would be death.
Working with the Malignant was considered far worse than being a traitor, because cooperating with them did not only make someone a traitor, but also an enemy of humanity.
While China was busy dealing with its own chaotic situation, Aldrian and his wives were enjoying their time traveling around the world. This time, they used disguises so they could enjoy their trip without being disturbed by countless people paying attention to them.
-----------------------
A few days after the purge operation finished, many people were judged in front of countless spectators, and everyone already expected that the verdict for most of them would be execution. Their wealth and properties would also be seized by the country.
One of the death row inmates was Wei Zhenhai. The people who saw him felt mixed emotions. In the past, he had been admired and adored by countless people, someone believed capable of reaching a height beyond SSSS-rank. Yet now, he had fallen to such a state.
There was no adoration or admiration left for him anymore. Wei Zhenhai himself also no longer showed any of his former imposing presence. He looked haggard, like someone who had already lost all spirit, with a blank expression and empty gaze.
At that moment, he simply followed every order given to him like a lifeless puppet.
The executions were carried out in a single day, with more than thirty people executed. Most of them were higher-ups from the Red Moon Guild who knew about the guild’s connection with the Malignant.
The others were people from different parties, such as government officials and those who had supported the Red Moon Guild throughout their crimes.
The people who witnessed justice finally being carried out felt satisfied. Life slowly started returning to normal, although many people still continued talking about the incident.
However, just as people thought all the surprises were finally over and that there would be no more sensational news, a shocking announcement was suddenly released. In fact, not only people of earth were shocked, but all the otherworlders living on Earth as well.
The otherworlders were even more stunned by the news.
Suddenly, Hunter Associations across the world released a joint statement announcing that a new gate would soon appear, one that connected Earth to the world where Aldrian came from, a world called the Inner Realm.
It was announced that Aldrian would personally create a gate connecting the two worlds in China, allowing the people of Earth to visit his world if they wished.
Most people did not know about the place called the Inner Realm, so they did not understand the true significance of the announcement. However, because it was the world where Aldrian and his wives came from, they still felt extremely curious and full of anticipation about what kind of place it was.
However, for the high-level hunters who knew about it and for the otherworlders, the news came completely out of the blue.
They had known about the Inner Realm for a very long time and carried hopes regarding that place just like their ancestors did. They wanted to see the world where far stronger beings existed, and they also wished to grow much stronger themselves.
They were also shocked to discover that Aldrian and his wives had actually come from that place.
Still, most people remained quite skeptical about the announcement, which was understandable. The reason was because of the legendary barrier separating the two realms. There had never been any record of people from either side successfully crossing into the other realm.
Did Aldrian truly come from that place? He might be powerful, but that did not necessarily mean he came from the Inner Realm. Could he really accomplish something as absurd as creating a portal connecting the two worlds?
Even under normal circumstances, people had never heard of anyone creating a portal or gate capable of connecting two separate worlds, even worlds within the same realm.
All the gates appearing across different worlds had formed naturally without anyone’s interference all this time.
And now, Aldrian wanted to create a portal connecting two different worlds from two separate realms?
Although they did not know how Aldrian planned to accomplish it, they still could not help but hope the announcement was true. They wanted to see whether Aldrian was truly the real deal and whether he could really connect the two worlds.
After the announcement spread, many hunters and otherworlders immediately began their journey toward Shanghai. Even the eleven Heroes of Humanity personally came.
Suddenly, Shanghai became the center of the world’s attention as numerous powerful hunters and otherworlders gathered there.
The sight of various races from other worlds could be seen throughout many parts of the city. Elves, dwarves, spiritual beasts, sea folk, and many others appeared openly.
The scene truly amazed countless people, because they had never seen so many races of otherworlders gathering in one place on Earth before.
Combined with the arrival of many famous hunters, the atmosphere became even more bustling and festive.
Thanks to Aldrian and his wives clearing all the SSSS-rank gates around the world, these hunters could focus on clearing the lower-level gates instead. Because of that, during the past two weeks, the number of SSS-rank to S-rank gates had greatly decreased.
With the number of those dangerous gates reduced significantly, many high-level hunters of SS-rank and above could finally make the journey to Shanghai to personally witness whether Aldrian truly could create the portal.
When the day of the portal creation finally arrived, Aldrian and his wives already stood at the place Aldrian had chosen for the portal.
It was a vast flat land on the outskirts of the city, which at this moment had already become the center of attention for thousands of people standing or floating nearby, most of them hunters and otherworlders.
Bai Cangming, the guild masters, and the eleven Heroes of Humanity were also among them.
Aldrian ignored all of them as he focused on the empty land before him. This was the first time he would attempt something like this, but he was confident he could accomplish it.
With the First Heaven as his domain, along with his comprehension and control over space laws that would make even a Transcendence gasp in shock, creating a portal connecting the two worlds anywhere within the First Heaven was not difficult for him.
He focused for a moment before beginning the creation process.
Basically, the concept was similar to a teleportation gate, warp gate, or teleportation portal. The only difference was the distance involved, a distance impossible for anyone below the level of a demigod to bridge.
The distance between the two realms was simply too vast for anyone beneath that level to attempt creating a portal.
When Aldrian sensed the Ancient Blue Gate World and pinpointed the exact location where he wanted the portal to appear, he immediately started manipulating the space between the two worlds.
He bent the space connecting the two realms, and with control over space that resembled the power of a god, he finally succeeded in connecting the two worlds.
He then strengthened the connection and ensured it was stable enough to last forever, unless a disturbance powerful enough to shake it appeared in the future.
Suddenly, the surrounding heaven and earth energy flowed strongly toward the space not far from where Aldrian stood. The space started bending and distorting before it slowly formed a massive blue portal.
At first, the portal looked unstable, but it quickly became stable as the distortion gradually turned constant.
The people witnessing the scene widened their eyes in shock. The portal was the largest they had ever seen, its size comparable to a football stadium.
They could also instantly feel a powerful energy flowing out from the portal, a sensation they had never experienced before.
Bai Cangming, who saw the portal, suddenly felt moved. He could finally feel that sensation once again. The sensation of dense and familiar heaven and earth energy, something completely normal in his previous life.
Aldrian looked at his creation for a few moments before nodding with a smile. He was satisfied with the result before turning around toward the others, who were still showing expressions of awe.
"It’s done," he said.
