Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme
Chapter 1821 - 1659: So That’s How It Is
In front of the throne in the palace, there is a jade table, with some jade scrolls placed on top, the divine light subdued. Nearby, a triangular incense burner releases a curling white smoke, infused with a pleasant fragrance.
Lin Mo sits upright on the throne, looking at the jade scrolls before him.
"Young master, these jade scrolls contain records concerning the core affairs of the Venerables in the Dark Demon Sea, including some areas of power and management," Jiang Rushi said as she stood to the side, her graceful jade hand holding a teapot, pouring tea.
"Hmm, let me take a look first."
Lin Mo picked up a jade scroll, and his Divine Thought directly entered into it.
The jade scroll contains records of some ordinary events during the tenure of True Yang Venerable, such as dispatching people to kill Demon Clan spies, or discovering traces of Demon Clan assassins.
There are also records of young talents practicing in the Dark Demon Sea over the years, and news of who among them was killed by the Demon Clan, all documented in archives.
The Demon Clan and the Human Clan are in different star domains but are mortal enemies, and this has been the case for hundreds of thousands of years, having even opened countless star domains as battlefields for both sides.
"Tragic, truly tragic. Cultivators reaching the Star System Level is no easy feat, yet in a single battle or a small-scale war, thousands die or are injured, in large-scale star domain wars the casualties are beyond measure." Lin Mo marveled.
Indeed, the universe has no bounds, and the number of star domains is beyond count. A Star System Level expert is a top expert in the Milky Way, but placed in the universe, they are mere cannon fodder.
Setting down the jade scroll, Lin Mo picked up another, probing again with his spiritual power.
"Oh?" Lin Mo murmured.
This one records some treasures, Netherworld Pills, and Soul Stone income, seemingly tributes like those from Tiancheng Continent.
"Wow, this is quite the lucrative position!" Lin Mo was surprised.
In the past ten thousand years, True Yang Venerable hasn’t been idle, having accepted a vast amount of bribes and wealth, to the extent that even Lin Mo drew a cold breath.
Jiang Rushi handed a cup of tea to Lin Mo, "Young master, have some tea. You should give up on that wealth; True Yang Venerable has taken it with him. It’s likely that once he returns to the Star Sky Alliance, it will be handed over to their inventory."
"Taken away?" Lin Mo frowned, took a sip of tea, and shook his head, "What a pity."
After going through the records in the jade scrolls, Lin Mo came back to his senses.
In the core area of this Dark Demon Sea, besides True Yang Venerable, there are eleven other Venerables, and True Yang Venerable’s strength ranks fifth among them, which isn’t weak at all.
"When I have the time, I should visit the other Venerables," Lin Mo smiled.
Jiang Rushi said, "Young Master Lin Tanyu might be interested in the Sun and Moon Divine Trees in those Venerable Mansions, but I think the two Realm Kings have already alerted them. If you go visit, you might get turned away."
"If I’m not allowed in, I’ll just force my way in," Lin Mo laughed, though a sharp glint flickered in his eyes.
Jiang Rushi gently opened her red lips, a bit surprised. Those are Venerables; forcing his way in? When did Young Master Lin Tanyu acquire such skill and confidence?
"These things can be taken slowly. First, take me to see those imprisoned handsome youths." Lin Mo stood up.
"Very well, Young Master Lin Tanyu, I have already held them in the prison, please follow me." Jiang Rushi guided.
Below the palace is the dungeon, guarded by trusted aides, and among the handsome youths captured were some with considerable strength, but against True Yang Venerable, they had no power to resist.
"Venerable Master."
"Venerable Master."
The dungeon guards saw Lin Mo arrive and immediately bowed respectfully.
With Jiang Rushi, Lin Mo entered the dungeon. The prison, made of Mystic Steel, was inscribed with runes and Dharma Seals, exuding mana fluctuations that made escaping very difficult.
A dozen or so handsome youths were imprisoned within a cell.
These people had already heard that True Yang Venerable was taken by the two Realm Kings for colluding with the Demon Clan, and that Lin Mo was the new Venerable.
"Venerable, we were forced by True Yang Lord...his wrongdoings have nothing to do with us."
"We have nothing to do with it, please spare our lives, Venerable..."
"Venerable, I can serve you, anything you wish."
Lin Mo frowned at the latter words, goosebumps rising instantly, and said sternly, "Quiet, whether you were forced by True Yang or here willingly is irrelevant, I will release you soon."
"Release us?"
"Great news."
"Finally able to leave this hellish place," the excited cries of the handsome youths resonated through the dungeon, except for one person who remained silently gloomy.
"You, come with me," Lin Mo pointed at the silent youth.
All eyes gathered on the young man, who possessed a Star System Level Early Stage cultivation, with a handsome visage free from the delicate curves seen in other handsome youths.
"Lin Mo, I never thought we’d meet here." The young man looked at Lin Mo and said softly, "It’s been decades."
"Old companions meeting again, didn’t expect it here," Lin Mo also smiled.
"Open the cell doors, let these people go wherever they wish," Jiang Rushi called to the dungeon guards, instructing them.
The dungeon guards immediately removed the sealing, opened the cell doors, and led the youths out.
"Follow me." Lin Mo glanced at the youth, "Luo Danhua."
Jiang Rushi blinked, surprised that Young Master Lin Tanyu actually knew this youth, whose real name was Lin Mo.
He brought Luo Danhua to the palace.
"Lin Mo, just kill me already, why pretend?" Luo Danhua looked coldly at Lin Mo, "Thirty years ago, on Earth, you defeated me, humbling my Luo Family, causing me to be expelled from the Green Dragon Martial Arts School. For all these years, I’ve longed to kill you for revenge, even submitting to True Yang, that pervert, to do so."
"You think everything is my fault?" Lin Mo laughed.
"The path you chose for yourself, it was also your ill intentions that got you expelled from the Green Dragon Martial Arts School by Master Liang. How is all this to be blamed on me?" Lin Mo sneered.
Luo Danhua clenched his fists, eyes full of resentment. He hated, hated Lin Mo. Back then, he was the genius on Earth, but Lin Mo’s appearance crushed his proud heart.
"The victor becomes king, the loser a bandit. Not even True Yang Venerable could kill you," Luo Danhua laughed, "Do what you must, for I have nothing to say to you."
Lin Mo looked at him and shook his head.
"You nearly harmed my family by colluding with the Western forces, and Master Liang took your punishment. That account is settled. In light of Master Liang’s relationship, I will spare you once more. Be wise."
"Spare me?" Luo Danhua’s eyes widened.
"Do you truly wish to die?" Lin Mo looked at him, "I’ve wandered the starry sky for decades, yet have not returned to Earth. Meeting an old acquaintance puts me in good spirits, but if I encounter you again unchanged, I won’t hold back."
Luo Danhua gritted his teeth, gave Lin Mo a deep look, then turned and flew out of the palace without looking back.
"Who would have thought the changes on Earth are so great now?" Lin Mo pondered, "Even Luo Danhua has come to cultivate in the starry sky?"
