Chapter 26: Level Five!

Now, after taking into account the 13000 zombies and one Hammerclaw, he had earned 68500 SP!

When added up, the total was a whopping 119700 SP!

’Hahaha~! I’m rich! I’m filthy rich!’ Allen inwardly cheered upon seeing the unbelievable amount of wealth until...

[System Alert!

You’ve surpassed the maximum SP balance of 100000 for Level 4!

Further SP will be frozen and can only be used after leveling up.]

"..."

Allen stared at the screen with a deadpan expression.

He felt like a deflated balloon.

All his plans of enjoying the riches he had earned were reduced to smoke.

"@#$%&!"

Unable to take it, he started to cuss out in frustration as he glared at the panel with eyes full of wrath.

He kept on cussing and spouting all sorts of profanities that would give anyone who heard it depression, trauma and mental illness for five more minutes before he finally stopped.

[Are you done?]

The System asked in a monotone as always.

"Yeah... I’m done." Allen said, bringing out a bottle of water to hydrate his throat that had gone parched from screaming all this while.

"Aah... much better." He said, wiping the droplets from his lips.

"But on a serious note, why are there so many limitations? This is honestly too frustrating to me. What’s the benefit of killing zombies now if I can’t use the SP I earn?" He asked, still frustrated.

[It’s not that you can’t use the SP from killing zombies any longer. Nor is it that you won’t be earning any more SP from eliminating zombies. It’s simply that you won’t be able to use the extra SP until you level up further.]

[These guardrails are in place in order to keep the balance of the world intact.]

"Balance of the world? What do you mean?" Allen asked with a raised eyebrow.

[...]

However, the System provided no further answers and went completely mute, letting Allen know of its intention to stay silent regarding this matter for now.

’Balance of the world... What does that mean? Is it something important? It must be, considering the fact the System even bothered to mention it in the first place.’

’I guess I will find out later. Right now, it’s better that I level up the Super Market first before making any further moves.’ Allen decided as he opened up the system interface and paid the required 800 SP for the level up.

[Ding!

Congratulations!

The Super Market System has leveled up to Level 5!]

[Current SP: 118900 SP]

[The SP Cap has been increased by 20000.]

[Frozen SP: 0]

[New items are available!]

[Do you wish to see?]

Allen confirmed and a panel showing the new available items appeared in front of him.

[Super Market

Level 5:

Basic Virility Pill - 1000 SP Basic Healing Potion - 1000 SP Automatic Machine Gun - 1200 SP Glider - 2000 SP Stellaphone - 5000 SP/unit Basic Discount Voucher - 10000 SP Absolute Bullet-Proof Vest - 10000 SP Basic SP Booster Potion - 10000 SP Shock Absorption Vest - 10000 SP Seeker’s Vision - 80000 SP]

"..."

Allen had an emotionless expression plastered on his face as he stared at the items but most importantly each of their price tags.

’I don’t know whether I should laugh or cry? The items sound cool but the price tags will burn a hole through my wallet. Ah, all my hard earned SP, my big coffers...’

[You don’t have to buy them if you don’t wish to.] The System said.

’Are you kidding me? Why the heck would I do that?’

[You seem bothered by the price tag, hence my suggestion.] The System replied.

’That I am. However, what’s the point of leveling up the Mart if I don’t even use it?’

’So, even if I am reluctant I will spend SP on them. Moreover, the items sound cool.’

[Do you have any items in mind?] The System asked.

’I’m still thinking. After all, some items I don’t even know what they mean.’

’For example, the 60th item, Seeker’s Vision. What the heck is that even?’ He asked.

[It is an ocular art which can be used by the host upon purchase from the Market.] The System answered.

’An ocular art? You mean like the ones in the novels and shows?’ Allen asked, wanting to confirm if his theory was correct.

[Affirmative.]

The System replied in the positive.

"Is that so? However, why is the price tag so high? I mean, is this some overpowered ability or something?" He asked.

[That depends on how the host puts it to use.] The System replied cryptically.

"On how I put it to use?"

[Yes. For example, even a branch in the hands of the strongest swordsman of folklore can be used to cleave the skies and slash mountains.] The System explained.

"Oh..."

Allen made an expression of understanding as he gained insights from the analogy.

[Have you understood?]

"Yep. Although it seems you don’t wish to give more details regarding it and as to what its actual usage is." Allen said.

[...]

The System opted to remain silent, neither confirming nor denying Allen’s claims.

He let go of the matter knowing he couldn’t possibly force it to reveal anything and instead focused on deciding what to purchase.

’Seeker’s Vision... the price tag is high. However, it’s still within my budget. Moreover, there are still at least 12000 zombies still left. Killing them all would net me around 60000 SP more.’

’Although I don’t know what it does, I’m sure it would be worth the price. After all, no matter what I’ve bought until now, it has been worth every SP spent.’

’Yosh. I’ve decided to buy the Seeker’s Vision. System, begin the purchase.’ He ordered, confident of his decision, sure of it as the right choice for future courses of action.

[Are you sure you wish to purchase the 60th item Seeker’s Vision?] The System asked, wanting to confirm his purchase.

’I’m sure.’ Allen responded.

[Then the purchase shall proceed.] It replied.

The next second, Allen...
