Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 125: Pharmaceutical
Chapter 125: Pharmaceutical
Her thoughts were interrupted by Little Mia’s joyful laughter as she rode Dolphie, who playfully swam and guided her through the sparkling lake.
It was the first time she had experienced such pure fun.
"Sis Ewe, look at me! I’m swimming!" Little Mia exclaimed, her hands waving excitedly to catch Elena’s attention.
Hearing this, Elena quickly stepped out of her husband’s embrace, not wanting Little Mia to see their affection.
’Haist! Every time we show affection, this kid innocently teases them, telling everyone what she saw.’
"Alright, be careful and hold on to Dolphie tightly."
Little Mia nodded, giggling with excitement.
While she played happily, Little Koby finally entered the space and rushed toward Eastern Lake, breathless and panting.
He had overslept; although he had set his alarm, his brother Xander had turned it off, allowing him to rest longer.
Now, he was late and hoping that Brother Oslo was still there and not upset.
Xander laughed while teasing his little brother, who looked anxious as he struggled to remain composed.
"Stop running. Brother Oslo is also late and will arrive later, so there’s no need to panic."
"Brother, are you telling the truth?"
"Why would I lie to you?"
He quickly made his way to Eastern Lake and saw that Little Mia was happily playing with Dolphie.
Sister Elena and Brother Ethan were also there, swimming together. He then ran over to greet them.
"Little Mia, I’m sorry I overslept," Little Koby said, feeling guilty.
Little Mia, engrossed in her play, didn’t hear his apology; instead, she invited him to join.
"Brother Koby, come here! Riding Dolphie’s back is amazing!"
"Okay," Little Koby replied excitedly.
Afterward, the rest of the group joined in the fun.
It was supposed to be a learning session for Little Mia and Koby, but when they heard that Elena was also there, everyone gathered together.
"This lake water feels warm and refreshing. Does it have the same effect as well water?" Grandpa Caldwell asked, amazed.
"Not really, Grandpa. While it can relieve fatigue, it’s primarily good for aquatic life and doesn’t have healing properties," Elena replied.
"Oh, I see. By the way, little Lucy is finally awake, and your aunt will start making medicine," Grandpa Caldwell added.
"I’m glad to hear that Daniel’s sister is finally awake. I will visit her later, Grandpa," Elena said happily, turning her attention to the pharmaceutical building.
"Is it working now?"
"Yes, for basic production," Uncle Anthony replied.
"That’s good enough. Thanks for your hard work, uncle."
Everyone updated each other on their current situations, and afterward, Oslo began teaching the kids how to swim and scuba dive.
The others relaxed as they discussed the outside disaster.
Watching them, Elena felt elated. She was happy that her efforts had finally paid off.
The space was taking shape, and if allowed, she wanted to upgrade the Golden Tablet.
While the kids played in the lake, she and Ethan discussed visiting the library to take the books and later checking the mall for useful items to collect.
Time was running out, and the more they collected, the more secure she felt.
"Let’s head back now. I want to check if the mutated beast has a core," Elena said.
"Alright," Ethan agreed.
They excused themselves, and Elena teleported them to their portable house to freshen up.
Afterwards, they went to the Southeast Training Ground and retrieved the mutated beast.
Ethan checked for a core, but unfortunately, it didn’t have one.
Elena felt a wave of frustration, but then she reminded herself that at least the Tier 1 mutated beasts were not yet rampant; otherwise, the situation would be chaotic.
"Alright, let’s check the jade and antiques we collected. We should try to upgrade the Golden Tablet," Ethan suggested, seeing her wife’s disappointed look.
"Okay, let’s use half of it, although I’m still not sure it will be enough," Elena agreed.
She then summoned the antiques and jades she intended to use for upgrading the Golden Tablet.
Before that, she first checked the status of her Golden Tablet.
She had used her previously hoarded raw jades and antiques from Emerald City to increase the points in the Experience Tab to 15.4%.
However, she decided to stop upgrading it, as she felt it would deplete a significant portion of her stored jades and antiques.
Additionally, she needed these items for the Energy Reserved Tab, so she couldn’t use them recklessly.
"The Experience Tab points are currently at 15.4%, which means we need approximately 85% more to upgrade the Golden Tablet to Tier 1," Elena informed.
With a wave of her hand, the antiques and jades became transparent and transformed into golden sparkles—it was beautiful as they entered the Golden Tablet.
The process was simple, and the Experience Tab points gradually increased from 15.5% to 50%, filling her with excitement until it halted at 73%.
Elena almost cursed the greedy Golden Tablet. Despite using a significant amount of jade and antiques, it still wasn’t enough.
Seeing his wife frowning, Ethan sensed that the result was not what she had expected.
"Wife? How is it?"
"It’s stuck at 73%. We still need more."
"Well, maybe the Golden Tablet really needs a huge amount of spiritual energy to upgrade. Let’s hoard more, okay?" Ethan replied, holding her hands to comfort her.
Elena smiled and said, "That’s all we can do for now. I won’t upgrade it anymore since we still need these jades and antiques to maintain Paradise."
"Alright, one step at a time. Paradise is already functioning well. If we have extra, we can use it for upgrades."
"Okay."
Elena did not linger on the topic, knowing there was nothing she could do about it for the time being.
Instead, she decided to check the pharmaceutical building.
But first, she wanted to visit Little Lucy to see how she was doing.
"Let’s go and visit Little Lucy."
She then teleported them to Paradise Hospital.
They first visited Aunt Liza and shared their agenda.
She happily joined them while enthusiastically discussing the start of the medicine production.
"I am now in the final phase of the test. Soon, I will start producing batches of this medicine. By the way, let’s harvest the other herbs in the Northern Black Soil next week. They are ready to be used."
"Really? That’s great news, Aunt! As you know, medicine is really needed in the apocalypse, and I plan on selling it when the time comes."
"Alright, let’s check the pharmaceutical building later so you can see the process."
After a short walk, they arrived at Little Lucy’s ward door.
Ethan knocked, and Daniel opened it with a bright smile, clearly relieved that his sister had finally woken up.
He greeted them warmly and introduced his sister to them.
"Sister Elena and Brother Ethan, this is my younger sister, Lucy. She’s a bit shy, so please don’t be offended if she doesn’t say much."
"It’s fine," Elena replied, gazing at the cute little girl.
Lucy looked weak, her face slightly haggard from not eating for too long.
"Hello, Little Lucy. How are you feeling?"
Little Lucy shyly said, "Hello, Sister. I’m doing okay. Thank you for saving me and my brother."
Her brother had informed her about their saviors, and she was grateful for their assistance.
"Thank me later, once you’re fully recovered, okay? For now, rest well so you can heal faster."
Little Lucy nodded in agreement.
Daniel then looked at them and said, "Thank you. I don’t know what I did in the past to deserve your help in saving my sister, but I promise to do my best and not be a burden."
"As long as you’re doing your best and being loyal to us, that’s good enough," Ethan replied seriously.
Aunt Liza then discussed Little Lucy’s condition with them, explaining that she would soon be able to leave the hospital if there were no complications.
Everyone was pleased to hear about her progress, and they agreed to let her rest without disturbing her any further.
Elena then looked at Daniel and instructed, "Take good care of your sister for now. Once she’s healed, I’ll mark her."
"Thank you, Sister Elena," Daniel replied gratefully.
"We’ll head out now," Elena said, then turned to Little Lucy. "Rest well."
"Thank you for visiting, Sister and Brother," Little Lucy responded weakly.
Elena smiled back, and they left the ward. Then, she teleported them to the Northern Blacksoil sector within the pharmaceutical building.
Inside the pharmaceutical building, Aunt Liza explained the process of how the medicine was created.
It began with carefully mixing powdered herbs and liquids in large, clean machines. Then, well water was added according to the specified ratio.
The blended material was then pressed into pills or capsules, dried, and coated with a protective layer to make swallowing easier.
Finally, the finished medicine was packed with labels reading ’Paradise Medicine’ and stored safely in the Southern Inventory.
"That’s the brief process," Aunt Liza concluded.
Elena was amazed and didn’t ask any further questions.
"When does production start?" Elena inquired.
"Probably next week, once I finalize the tests," Aunt Liza replied.
"Take your time, Aunt. We’ll wait for the good news."
Elena and Ethan didn’t stay long before returning to their unit.
However, they soon heard alarming news: many residents were falling ill, suffering from persistent coughing that seemed never-ending.
