Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 135: Paradise Shop
Chapter 135: Paradise Shop
After their brief discussion about today’s agenda in Grandpa Caldwell’s unit, Elena and Ethan, along with Butler Aki and Lydia, began to prepare.
As planned, the other members would go downstairs first to pretend they were looking for supplies in the area.
When they reached a secluded spot, Elena and her team, who would sell the supplies, exited from their location so the people living in the corridor wouldn’t see them going downstairs, thus avoiding any connection to the mysterious shop.
Afterwards, they will set up a grocery shop in one of the units for a quick test and try to lure the residents through the efforts of Oslo, Uncle Anthony, and Ramon.
They will carry supplies to show to the residents, and if someone asks, they will simply tell them about the mysterious shop set up around the building.
That’s the gist of their plan.
After exiting at Oslo’s location, Elena and the others scouted the area in search of a suitable place.
"Let’s choose this unit," Elena said, pointing to 1201.
The unit appeared to be unoccupied. The resident who lived here might have been concerned about unexpected flooding, as the water level was nearly at the 11th floor.
Everyone agreed and began preparing the area—cleaning and removing unnecessary items to create more space.
Elena then brought out a mini portable shop and a signboard that read ’Paradise Grocery.’
As planned, they would choose a different location each time they set up the grocery shop to avoid being ambushed.
This would also give the shop a mysterious vibe, making it hard to pinpoint its exact location and prompting them to think twice before doing anything reckless.
Soon, everyone applied their disguise makeup, giving them a clean look that contrasted sharply with the struggling appearance of most residents.
"We’re ready," Elena said, walking alongside the portable shop.
She then looked at the team members who would lure the residents,"Go ahead and carry the supplies as planned."
She then decided to let Butler Aki and Lydia handle the sales while she monitored the situation with Ethan.
Elena also retrieved a table and had Jessa sit there, looking sophisticated while sipping tea.
This would definitely add more mystery to their shop.
Elena couldn’t help but smirk as she imagined the shocked expressions of the residents.

Uncle Anthony and the others walked slowly upstairs, trying to make some noise to gather attention.
"Look at the supplies I brought! It even includes fresh eggs," Ramon exclaimed, trying to pique the residents’ interest. freёweɓnovel.com
"They also have meats and fruits available," Oslo added.
Soon, the residents watched their movements intently through their peepholes, trying to determine if they were telling the truth.
They had learned their lesson and wanted to ensure that these people were not scammers or criminals.
Dr. Paige opened her door and asked excitedly about what they had mentioned.
"Oslo, are you telling the truth?"
"There’s no need for me to lie. Look at the supplies I brought. Do they look like a scam to you?"
"They do seem fresh and good. Where is it?"
"To be honest, they only accepted jades and antiques as currency. If you’re really interested, it’s located at unit 1201."
"Also, hurry up! They might leave soon. And remember, don’t be rude—follow their rules quietly," Uncle Anthony added.
Dr. Paige was willing to exchange his jades and antiques, deeming them useless in these times.
"I see. What is the exchange rate?"
"I exchanged mine for a medium jade, and they gave me 500 points. These eggs cost 10 points each."
"So costly?"
"Well, this kind of supply is already valuable. Who knows when we’ll have another chance like this?"
"Alright, thanks for the information," Dr. Paige said excitedly as she checked her assets, looking for a jade or antique to exchange later.
Soon, the residents began to open their doors, asking if it was really true.
"Young man, are you really telling the truth? As you know, we don’t have enough food to survive," an old man asked.
"I won’t repeat myself; what I said is true. Why don’t you gather and check it out for yourselves?"
"It seems he’s telling the truth. Come on, let’s go together and check it out," a resident suggested.
But before they could leave, Oslo reminded them that they only accepted jades and antiques.
"So they won’t accept money anymore?"
Murmurs were heard among them, as they feared they didn’t have enough jades and antiques.
"Yes. And don’t push your luck or beg; they seem to be different from us," Uncle Anthony warned.
Everyone was a little shocked but accepted his warning. They returned to their units to gather as many funds as possible.
Afterwards, they made their way downstairs to check out the shop.
As they reached the entrance, they hesitated, uncertain of what awaited them inside.
Just then, a woman carrying her child stepped forward with determination.
She was surviving on very little food each day, but her little one had been crying and coughing; he needed both food and medicine.
As she entered, the unit she once knew felt completely transformed.
It had become a portable shop with an intriguing name above: ’Paradise Shop.’
Seeing her as their first customer, Lydia quickly gestured for her to come in.
"Welcome! Please read the rules before proceeding with the transaction," she said.
The woman felt a mix of surprise and shame. The woman in front of her was so beautiful and healthy, while she felt dirty and unkempt.
But she pushed those thoughts aside for her child’s sake.
"Uhmm, Miss, where can I find the rules?" she asked.
Before Lydia could respond, the little boy gazed longingly at the food on the shelves.
"Mom, I’m hungry," he said, gulping as he stared at the treats.
"Madam, we have a free snack for kids today, as a special treat for our opening," Lydia offered.
"Really?" the woman replied, her eyes widening in surprise.
"One of our policies is to never lie," Lydia assured her with a warm smile.
