Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 78: leaving Balon City
Chapter 78: leaving Balon City
Alex was surprised by Aunt Mia’s explanation about the Dark Union.
’So the Dark Union was like a powerful terrorist organisation that shouldn’t be provoked; they would kill anyone who is caught investigating them, and even people close to that person might be affected.’ Alex noted in his heart.
He wanted to ask more, but Mia advised him to drop the matter, if possible; she hoped that he would never have to come across the Dark Union in his life.
Since Mia was unwilling to continue on the matter, Alex decided to forget about it for the time being. He would investigate on his own later.
He was confident that no one would be able to figure out that he was Mr Chen, so he wasn’t afraid of the Dark Union, knowing that they were being investigated by his second identity.
As for the Dark Union coming to him because he was investigating them, Alex felt it would be the best outcome. freeweɓnovel.cøm
That would save him all the trouble of searching for them.
Silence returned to the truck, this silence wasn’t heavy with tension but was a relaxed one. Simon focused on driving the truck through the streets of Balon City; the rough-looking man in front and the two beside Alex at the back had their eyes closed while resting their backs on their seats.
As for Alex, he was staring at the scene outside through the windows on his sides; his head turning both sides periodically.
Although Balon City was one of the smallest cities in the country, it was a very large place with over a million people. Naturally, there were places that Alex had never been to despite spending his 18 years of life in this very City.
The trucks drove for over an hour before reaching the border where they would be exiting the city. The City obviously didn’t have just one border, and Alex had never been to this one before.
Looking through the window on Mia’s side, Alex saw that this border was more well constructed than the one he usually passed when going to farm exp. An outpost was built near this border and few officers were stationed here.
Additionally, this place wasn’t far from the bustling area of Balon City and would only take a few minutes to drive to reach the closest building.
The four trucks that were carrying the members of the Rising Wave group stopped briefly when they reached the outpost and one of the Union officers walked toward the truck at the forefront.
After a few seconds, they were allowed to pass; the four trucks immediately hit the road again and finally left Balon City.
An official road that the four trucks drove along cut through the barren space outside the border and stretched far into the distance like the shadow of a giant.
The previous Alex had never been out of the city before so Alex was fascinated by what he was seeing. Both sides of the official road looked like endless seas of sand, other vehicles also passed them as they drove.
Every few kilometres, they would come across an outpost where four to five Union officers were stationed.
The four trucks drove for a long time, passing through forests and crossing bridges.
Finally, after three hours of driving, the four trucks came down from the road and entered a rocky path.
The floor was covered in small pebbles and boulders of various shapes and sizes spammed for as far as the eyes could see.
The ride quickly became bumpy as they drove over uneven ground.
After driving for another seven minutes and turning a huge rock that was as big as a house, they finally reached their destination.
Through the front glass, Alex could see lots of people.
He estimated that there were almost a hundred people! In addition to the people, Alex noticed that plenty of trucks and other smaller vehicles were packed around the place; those were the rides of the surrounding people.
The four trucks that the members of the Rising Wave group drove to the side before stopping beside each other, Alex and the others then came down.
"What a long ride, my body almost became stiff." Mia stretched her body after coming down off the truck, her large chest bouncing like an excited rabbit.
After stretching, Mia’s gaze landed on the people in the distance and her expression immediately turned serious; not a single trace of friendliness could be found on her face.
Alex had seen her like this before, so he didn’t think much; his eyes moved to the people in the distance as well.
After a short moment of observation, Alex discovered that everyone present was a mage, and their strength was between the Adept mage rank and the Expert mage rank.
There were only four Expert mages within the group, it would be five after Mia was included. The rest were at the Core and Adept mage rank.
Another thing that Alex had noticed was that, although these people seemed to be gathered together, they were actually standing in three different groups with each group having around 20 to 25 members.
"Let’s go." Mia voiced out as she took the lead and approached the three groups.
Alex and the others immediately followed her.
Similarly, the members of the other three groups had also started to observe the members of the Rising Wave group after they arrived. Countless pairs of eyes landed on Alex’s group as they came closer.
"Well well, if it isn’t the water witch herself. I’m honoured to attend this raid with you, Miss Mia." A tall man with curly blonde hair and a handsome face smiled at Mia, a lustful light in his eyes as he checked out her curves.
The other party was an Expert rank mage and behind him were 23 people. One of them was at a similar rank as the blonde-haired man, while the majority of the 22 were at the core rank! Apparently, this person had the strongest team in the gathering.
Mia only glanced at him without saying anything, her gaze sweeping across the others.
Alex raised an eyebrow. He wondered if this blondie was unaware of his expression or if he just didn’t bother to hide his lust.
"That’s the leader of the Golden Tree group, Lucas. They have two mages who are at the Expert mage rank in their group, and most of their members are at the Core rank; that’s why he’s arrogant. Just ignore him, he can only talk." Simon came beside Alex and whispered to him.
Alex looked at the latter and saw the suppressed anger in Simon’s eyes.
Alex "..."
’Are you sure you aren’t saying that to remind yourself not to do anything rash?’
The blonde-haired man, Lucas, noticed Simon’s and Alex’s movements; his eyebrows raised after he saw Alex.
"Oh my, I don’t dare so that I’m familiar with all the members of the Rising Wave group, but I’m sure I’ve never seen this face before." He voiced out while looking at Alex with a scrutinizing gaze.
"He’s a new member of our group, the leader brought him personally." Simon wrapped his arms around Alex’s neck and announced.
"Oh, is that so?" Lucas murmured as his eyes narrowed at Alex.
’Mia took in this brat personally? Is it because he’s more handsome? But he’s still a brat, is she into younger ones?!’
Lucas’s heart raced, and he instantly disliked Alex.
