Chapter 227: Revelations

Blaze’s pov

It was clearly the caveman in me, the deranged aspect of my brain at work right now. Because a sane person wouldn’t get the urge to fuck one’s mate in the presence of other people.

That was only an urge though. I’d never do something like that, I was much too possessive over him to even consider doing something like that.

I noticed the teacher throwing us awkward glances every now and then, it was clear that he was pretending to ignore my mate and I. I could notice a few other predators staring at me wearily.

When my eyes locked with Malachi, he held my gaze for a moment before looking away. He clearly knew why I was looking at him, I had yet to let go of the fact that he almost drowned my mate in the past. At any slight chance, I won’t hesitate to teach him a lesson.

Labyrinth’s hair stuck to the side of his face and his forehead as he peered up at me and I hummed as I leaned down and kissed his jaw. We could have skipped this extra curriculum completely, no one would have questioned me, but I just wanted to flaunt him more, it’s definitely why I didn’t tell him we’d skip it.

The reason why I left him as soon as we arrived at school this morning was because I went to take care of a few things.

Last night, I killed the new principal, because as soon as Labyrinth revealed to me where he was forced to meet Andrian at, which clearly meant that sicko was working with the new principal, I knew he was the first person I needed to take care of. Which was why after my mate fell asleep last night, I left the comfort of his warm body and sought out the new principal. Before I killed him last night, I ordered him to call Andrian, and I only said a single sentence to him.

"Before the end of this week, you won’t be alive any more because I’d have killed you by then."

And that was it.

After I killed the principal, I looked through his things for anything important I could find. I didn’t find anything relatively important there.

This morning, I took care of a few things, and I also scheduled a meeting with Kendrick. We’re supposed to meet this afternoon, for him to reveal things he knows about my mother.

When I lifted my head and glanced sideways, I noticed Taylor’s eyes on me all the way from the prey’s category and a scowl settled across my face. He ducked his head almost immediately and I let out an irritated scoff, hating the fact that he befriended my mate from the onset, because I knew the betrayal hurt him more than he liked to admit.

"Kiss me, bunny." I murmured when our eyes locked again. His cute eyes widened and he glanced sideways, when I followed his line of sight, my eyes met Xander’s and I let out an irritated scoff.

"Right here?" He mumbled, cheeks flushed adorable and I hummed in response, pressing a kiss underneath his chin. He grew more embarrassed before pressing a light kiss against mine.

I let out a chuckle, feeling endeared as I shook my head and began to pull him along with me to the edge of the pool. Once at the edge, I stepped out of the pool with him still in my arms, when the lesson was literally still going on.

The teacher spluttered but couldn’t say a thing as I made my way out of the swimming arena, with everyone’s eyes undoubtedly on us. But I didn’t care, I just wanted to take my mate to somewhere private where we could thoroughly make out because this swimming gear he had on was messing with my head.

I was seated on the couch across from Kendrick who was sipping from glass of wine. He had on a low hat this time, and his face appeared younger than I remembered. He didn’t look nervous in any way, if anything, he looked really relaxed.

"Why is he here? You sure you wanna do this with a third party listening in?" He began, pointing his glass towards Roy who was busy on the MacBook sitting across his knees. Roy was sitting on the spot beside me, and we’re all sitting in one of my apartments, the one which technically now belongs to Roy.

I rolled my eyes as I fished out a cigarette. "He’s someone that has more value than you, that’s for sure. And he can stay." I responded and Kendrick rolled his eyes with a small huff.

"Geez, savage much." He mumbled.

"I was being for real, he does have more value than you. You’re technically seen as valueless by your family, that’s why you want to take out your younger brother who clearly has the most value between you two." I pointed out, watching as a frown slowly settled across his face before he reached forward to drop his drink.

Roy was silent this whole time, fingers flying over the keyboard but he was listening in attentively, he could multitask like crazy.

"So... when are you gonna start?" I finally broke the silence after a few minutes when Kendrick completely went mute. He didn’t look too happy this time, infact, he looked irritated.

"Aren’t you supposed to kill Kai first before I tell you anything? It’s supposed to happen like this." He finally mumbled, eyes filled with small anger and I glanced at the unlit cigarette for a moment before letting out a chuckle.

"Are you being serious right now?" I questioned in a low voice and he shrugged a little.

"I- I mean... what’s the guarantee that y- you’d actually keep to your part of the deal if I tell you about your mother?" His voice cracked a little this time.

"There’s no guarantee, that’s the thing. So, start telling me what you know about my mother." I snapped, starting to feel irritated.

He squared his shoulders. "If there’s no gurantee... then respectfully, I’m bailing out." He threw his hands out before rising to his feet, heading for the door.

I rolled my eyes as I finally lit my cigarette.

"If you step out of the door, you won’t be able to make it out of the compound... because you’d get killed." I finally revealed once he was almost at the door and he stiffened, hesitating for a bit before reluctantly returning back to the couch.

"You really are a monster." He spat out and I crackled a little, puffing a straight line of smoke.

"Correct." I responded and he pursed his lips, appearing a little worked up.

"So... is the deal still on if I tell you what I know?" He asked tentatively and I shrugged a shoulder.

"Depends on my mood." I admitted and Roy crackled beside me, clearly unable to hold it in any longer.

"I’d suggest you start spilling at this point, buddy." Roy looked over at Kendrick as he spoke and Kendrick huffed out reluctantly before finally starting.

"So... uh, your mother was a demon." He finally admitted and I blinked slowly.

"What?" I echoed and he shrugged. "It’s the truth, I remember that entire drama vividly." He continued with a shrug.

My jaw clenched as I leaned forward. "Are you fucking with me? You think this is funny?" I demanded and he spluttered a bit.

"I’m being serious, man! She came from a long line of dark magic weavers." He argued and a scowl instantly settled on my face. What he was saying made no sense, and I wasn’t sure of how to process anything yet.

"Where’s the proof to back up your claims? Surely you cannot expect us to just take your words for it just because you said so." Roy spoke up almost immediately and Kendrick blinked twice before throwing his hands out.

"Proof? What proof? How the hell am I supposed to hand proof?!"

"Then this means you’re lying." Roy drawled beside me and Kendrick spluttered again.

I remained silent as a few back and forth went on between them, my mind reeling from disbelief.

"If you’re lying to me, Kendrick... keep in mind that I’ll kill you myself." I finally spoke up and Kendrick stiffened before he went on insisting that he wasn’t lying.

"What’s her name? What does she look like? Who was she? Where was she from? And so on. Give me everything you know about her." After I asked the question, Kendrick responded almost immediately.

"Her name was Ivory Darkling, and she was so good looking, with eyes just like yours– dark and soulless. I didn’t really know who she was, but I knew she had dark magic, and I wasn’t sure of where she was from. I didn’t actually have any personal conversations with her since I was still a child back then. She got married to your father and took in almost immediately... but after she had you, she died."
