Jules’ pov

"You didn’t have to do any of that." I mumbled underneath my breath, biting on my bottom lip as I dabbed at the bruises scattered around his knuckles. Blaze only snorted while his other fingers combed through my hair.

I was currently sitting on the counter in the restroom, and Blaze was standing between my legs while I clean up his wound. I didn’t like that he was unnecessarily hurt right now when he could have easily avoided the fight, although I knew he only did it because of me, and that made me feel guilty.

If I wasn’t in his life, his life would be peaceful with no drama coming up every few days like if has always been doing since I appeared in his life. I’ve never mentioned this before because I knew he was gonna instantly object and assure me that it wasn’t the case at all, but I had a functioning brain so I knew it was most definitely the case.

"I was angry before head, that fight helped me release some much needed steam." He admitted with a lazy grin tugging at the side of his lips and I rolled my eyes a little as I poured some antiseptic over his knuckles. He didn’t even make a sound even though it was definitely stinging.

"You alright?" He asked after a few moments, tilting my head up with a finger underneath my chin. I swallowed emptily and nodded. My entire inside was plundered in deep thoughts, but since he arrived, that frightened feeling had drastically reduced, because I was certain that nothing could go wrong with him present.

I wasn’t sure of how I’d ever face my classmates after today. Now, they must have added two and two togr. They’d all definitely start to suspect that I’m hiding something, thanks to what Kai said in class, along with Taylor who stoked the fire. I legit couldn’t believe that Taylor could do that, I never knew he actually disliked or hated me. This is a shocking discovery.

"Kai and Xander are definitely gonna join forces after today since you beat the two of them up today. Kai would probably tell Xander my secret now, and Xander would spread it everywhere, then the people who has been looking for me this whole time would finally come for me, then id be captured, and then..."

I didn’t realize my hands had began to shake until Blaze grasped my hands in his and held unto them firmly.

"Take a deep breath, bunny."

I did as ordered, the breath filling up my lungs before I exhaled it. He massaged my hands with his thumb as he ordered me to repeat that a few more times.

"That’s a good boy." He breathed out as he draped my hands across his shoulders before leaning down and nuzzling the mating mark. I shuddered against him, chest expanding with a deep inhale of his scent, right before I melted against him.

All the worries that had began to build within me a few moments ago had all melted away in the blink of an eye. His hands were massaging the back of my neck and the lower part of my back.

"Nothing’s gonna happen, okay?" He spoke as he pulled out of the hug and I nodded slowly as I breathed his scent in. His good knuckle caressed my cheek as he continued.

"You’re not gonna get taken away from me no matter what, and your secret isn’t gonna get out. But if it does, I’ll protect you till my last breath. I promise."

This time, tears prickled at the side of my eyes and inhaled shakily before hurriedly blinking the tears away.

"I’m scared." I admitted in a small whisper and he tugged me into another hug, holding me firmly against his firm chest and I took in deep breaths until the urge to cry disappeared once again.

"Nothing’s gonna happen, okay?"

"Okay." I whispered as I exhaled shakily. He caressed my cheeks, brushed my hair out of my face and even leaned down to brush a kiss against my forehead, one which made me melt against him.

"Xander and Kai... if they join forces..." I began but Blaze gently shushed me with a featherlight kiss.

"That’s not gonna happen because I’d have killed Kai before then." He assured me and i nodded once again, melting against him when he tugged me into another warm hug.

This time, I didn’t feel any ounce of pity for Kai. After what he just pulled today, perhaps he does deserve to die.

"I don’t think I can handle returning to class today anymore." I admitted as Blaze hoisted me up for a few moments before dropping me on the ground. He draped his arm across my shoulders and assured me that he wasn’t planning on letting me return there anyway. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

I was currently standing in front of my dorm, in the preys dormitory, because I wanted to confirm if everything of mine was fully packed. Blaze had assured me that it was, but I wanted to be fully certain.

The door open as soon as I swiped the keycard across it and I stepped into the room, closing the door after me. Blaze was waiting for me outside the dorminitory, since he came across one of the guys he usually hang out with, I figured there was no use of him coming in here with me.

I headed straight for my bedroom and it was completely empty, everything had been dismantled and a bunch of boxes are in the middle of the room.

The crew whomBlaze sent to do this job confirmed to Blaze that they found a bunch of cameras around the room, they even found a camera in the bathroom. I had never felt so disgusted in my entire life after hearing that.

I exited the room and headed for the kitchen to get a drink of water. The fridge was empty, the kitchen didn’t look like it was being used at all, and that made me notice that the sitting room didn’t seem like it was being used either. Everywhere felt stuffy and even dusty, proving that this place has been left empty.

That made me wonder if Nick, the omega I was sharing this room with never bothers to return to this dorm. I headed for his bedroom and knocked, and after a few tries, I tried the door and it opened.

He was right there, laying in the bed with the covers draped across his body and his head peaking out.

I stared at him for a few seconds before pulling back and gently pulling the door close, because knowing how angry he always was, he’d literally bite my head off if he caught me right now.

Before I fully closed the door, I stopped at the last second and peered at him again, letting my eyes wander around his room, and that was when I noticed that his room was void of anything apart from a bed, and sn opened box positioned at the other side of the room with its content spilling out the sides.

I blinked slowly as my eyes landed back on him, and as I tilted my head sideways, I realized that within me, something didn’t feel right.

I hesitated for a moment before stepping into the room, making sure to not make a sound. If Nick wakes up, he’d only shout my ears off and I’d apologize, that’s all. I said within myself as I walked towards the bed.

I stopped beside the bed and peered down at him, he was facing away from me and as I hovered a hand above him, I silently questioned myself again if this was a good idea.

I pulled my hand away at the last moment and turned away, not wanting to go through any unnecessary back and forth with him. however, my foot caught in the edge of the sheets which was sweeping the ground and as I stumbled, I squealed with a wince and instantly held my breath. The stumble made a lot of sounds but he thankfully didn’t rouse.

However, the stumbling pulled some of the sheets off his frame. I rushed to fix it and that was when something caught my eyes.

Blood.

I blinked slowly as I stared at the stark red stain around the wrist of the sweater he was clad in, wondering why it was stained with blood. I leaned forward and the stench of blood made me recoil a little.

My heart began to race a little as I began to shake him awake, uncaring that he’d rain hell on me once he wakes up.

"Nick?" I called out as I gently shook him again, but he still continued to sleep.

I shook him once more time before tugging on him sideways, and as he rolled over till he was laying on his back, the biggest scream tore past my throat as I stared into his lifeless, opened eyes.

My hands shook as I reared back, eyes taking in the dried blood which had trickled out from the side of his lips.

Nick was dead.
