Carnivals: Claimed By The Deranged Alpha Prince [BL]-Chapter 233: Catastrophe
Chapter 233: Catastrophe
Jules’ pov
The entire school was turned upside down. Police cars filled the school and the entire students were sent back to their dorms shortly after Malachi’s body was discovered.
I felt chills roll down my spine at the realization that he was indeed dead. I had expected to hear the news of his passing any moment since Blaze had promised me he was gonna do it after I asked him to, but it was still jarring to find out that he was actually dead.
I searched for mind for regret or compassion, but I found nothing. All I could feel was relief that he was finally dead and that now at least the person responsible for Nick’s death is also dead instead of still remaining alive and unpunished. When we held a candle night for Nick in the preys dorm, all the omegas had felt remorseful for judging him without actually knowing him and most of them ended the night with tears in their eyes.
Malachi’s death shook everywhere up, not just because he was a prince, but because he was a pro swimmer. He has a bunch of medals from swimming, so it was clear to anyone with a brain that he was murdered. The cameras in the swimming area were also wiped clean, there was nothing to be traced and nothing anyone could work with.
I was currently in Elio’s room because Blaze went to take care of something and I didn’t want to be alone in his large apartment. All my things had officially been moved into Blaze’s apartment so I didn’t have a room here in the preys’ dormitory any longer. freēwēbnovel.com
"So many deaths back to back." Elio muttered as he flopped on his bed and I couldn’t agree more. Although, this particular death happened because I asked for it.
I didn’t tell Kim I asked Blaze to kill Malachi, not because I do not trust him. I’ve spent a lot of time with him since we all returned back to school and I definitely do understand and trust him way more than I previously did, but I still felt like it was rational if I kept that away from him, and I did just that.
I knew he was currently celebrating Malachi’s death wherever he was. He had apparently hated Malachi for a long while because Malachi had ruined the life of a bunch of omegas, so this wasn’t a first time experience.
"I know, right?" I mumbled as I slipped into the bed, folding my legs underneath me. He picked up his phone and began to scroll through it.
"Should we play a game or watch a movie?" He asked and I hummed, eyes wandering over the familiar interior.
"I think we should watch a movi–" I was still speaking when Elio’s eyes bulged in shock, mouth dropping open.
"What the hell?" He uttered.
I instantly freeze up, my heart flying straight into my throat. I had been extremely jumpy around him since I discovered that his life was technically in danger because of me.
"What’s that?" I managed to ask and his widened eyes locked with mine.
A post just surfaced on the internet, it’s that of Malachi confessing to being the one responsible for Nick’s death, and that the school tried framing the death as suicide." He explained, eyes blown wide and I instantly whipped my phone out, and to my shock, the entire issue was trending.
Malachi’s parents were denying that their son murdered Kim and that their son’s murderer stole his phone and is posting such news to divert the public from the fact that their innocent heir was murdered unfairly in a place which was apparently a safe haven.
"Wow." I muttered as I glanced away from my phone. Elio was typing furiously on the phone.
"This feels like a kdrama. The school isn’t gonna like this, they’ve always avoided airing their dirty linen in public." He informed me and then he crackled.
"The entire internet is falling apart. A lot of people are letting out posts which is contradicting everything this school is supposed to stand for." He explained, waving his phone in my face for a moment before glancing back at it.
I took a look at mine and realized that some students were also releasing posts about the horrendous things they’ve witnessed and experienced in the school. It was a mess.
Almost immediately, Elio’s phone rang and he spent the next five minutes assuring his aunt that he was fine. As he spoke to her, I found myself feeling weird on the inside because I had no one to call me in order to ensure that I was fine in here. This should be Andrian right now but after discovering that all I shared with him was a lie, I never want to hear his voice again.
"That’s my aunt, she’s worried after seeing the mess on the internet." He explained before flopping back at my side. "I’ve asked her not to be worried but she has always been like this.
"Do you believe Malachi did it?" He asked me after a few minutes and I nodded without hesitating.
"Of course. He’s a menace, I’m very certain he did it, and I think everyone was. They all just couldn’t say a thing after the school announced it as a suicide." He explained, lips pursed. "I’m glad he’s dead, even though that sounds vile." He muttered and once again, I couldn’t agree more.
"Anyways... I’ve been wanting to ask you about this. You and Taylor, why did you guys fall out?" He questioned and I instantly grew tense, mind conjuring the scene in the classroom whereby instead of him to defend me, he egged Kai’s instigation against me on. After that day, I had always skipped school, still not sure I could face the students yet. I was glad Elio never asked me about it, because I’d have to lie about it to him and I really don’t lying to people I care about.
I could remember how I lied so much to Blaze and how it ate me up from the inside day by day.
"I just... I’m not trying to pry, it’s just that, you were both close, then you weren’t. And he approached me yesterday at school when you were absent, and..." he began to speak when I remained silent and I leaned forward and cut into his explanation.
"He approached you?"
He nodded. "You know I’m friends with him although we aren’t that close, but he was the one who introduced us to each other. Anyways, I thought he just wanted to say hello, you know? But he accused me of being a horrible person and claimed I stole you from him, then he went to ask me if I really knew who you were. He insinuated you were dangerous and claimed that was why he wasn’t friends with you anymore." He explained and my mouth fell open in disbelief.
"What the fuck?" I echoed, unable to believe my ears right now.
"Obviously, I didn’t believe him. I told him he was being irrational and he kept insisting on being right. He advised me to stop being friends with you if I didn’t want to get dragged into your mess. That hadn’t even made a lick of sense to me, and I ended up asking him to leave me be." Elio continued with an eyeroll.
"So, that was why I decided to ask you about your friendship with him. Perhaps you guys ended on a bad note, which is why he’s painting you in a bad image. I’ve witnessed friendship fallouts that’s usually like this, so I don’t know, I guess I just wanted to know." He shrugged at the end of his sentence and I kept staring straight ahead before rolling off the bed.
"That’s it. I’m gonna confront him at this point." I announced, pushing my hair out of my face while trying to suppress the anger swirling within my chest.
Elio’s eyes widened, and then he rolled out of the bed.
"Are you sure?" He asked, watching as I slipped into my shoes.
"I’ve had enough. After we fell out, I avoided doing this but now I can’t ignore this any longer." I explained as I rose to my feet and slipped my phone into my pocket.
He instantly offered to come with me. I declined but after he kept insisting, I ended up telling him he could come if he wanted.
As we exited his room, his roommate was in the kitchen and we waved at him before leaving. Once in the front of his door, he scrolled through his phone and clicked his tongue.
"All the posts relating to Malachi, the death of Nick and any post relating to this school, have all been deleted. I knew the school was gonna bring those posts as soon as they got wind of it. Before the end of today; they’d put out a statement assuring the public that it had all been a little misunderstanding. That’s how this school is still standing till date."
