Chapter 240: Hell Breaking Loose

Blaze’s pov

I tried calming myself down, trying to still everything within my inside. The pain was ten times worse now that everything was quiet inside me. I could notice Roy and Kim regarding me worriedly but I didn’t focus on them, my entire thoughts were focused on only one person.

Labyrinth.

As his face slowly materialized in my chest, I let my eyes fall close, trying to listen if I’d feel a pull in the midst of the pain in my chest.

I concentrated hard till I felt a very weak pull. It was so weak and I channeled my strength to that pull, stroking around it till it became steady, then I tried focusing hard so I could try following that pull to wherever he currently is.

After following the pull, I materialized in a garden. I instantly began to think I had arrived at the wrong place but that was until we saw a trail of blood.

My heartbeat fastened and on following the trail, we ended up arriving at the scene, proving that I was on the right track.

The first thing I noticed was Elio, he was laying on the ground, knives embedded in his stomach and bleeding out from different directions. He looked lifeless.

Choruses of screams echoed and I looked up, sighting a bunch of men rushing forward, clearly intending to take me down, but the rage inside me was too much that I channeled that source within my body that feeds on energy, sucking up their energies without too much hassle. As Kim fell beside Elio’s body, Roy faced off two bulky men at the same time. He was a good fighter so I knew he was fine.

I took the first turn I saw, sighting my mate in the next moment. He was in a circle of some sort, laying on the ground and appearing lifeless as well.

The howl I let out shook the trees around me and when I sighted Andrian in a stance for fighting, all I saw was red.

I charged at him, dodging the knives flung my way and finally grasping his neck. I flung him against the nearest tree and he collapsed on the ground with a groan. My eyes darted towards my mate again but before I could go to him, I realized that Andrian was shifting into his wolf form.

I dodged his attack, rolling on the ground with me and holding his strong jaws open when he almost bit me. I ended up punching and throwing him against a larger tree, hearing the satisfying sound of something snapping.

He didn’t move or shift back into his wolf form, clearly too weak to move. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

I rushed towards my mate, eying the circle around him which was no longer glowing. The pain in my chest was no longer there and for a heartbeat, I wondered if the bond between us had been severed or if he really was dead.

I fell to my knees beside him and carefully pulled him into my hands, trying to shake him awake.

"Open your eyes, bunny. I’m here now, you’re safe." I whispered, voice filled with panic and desperation.

He remained motionless, lips slightly parted and face looking extremely pale, like the life inside of him got sucked out.

I didn’t want to panic yet, and so I shook him again, calling out his name softly. I noticed something wet seeping into my bicep and on moving him a little, I realized that he was bleeding from the mating mark I gave him.

I saw red after that, consumed to the brim with it. My eyes zeroed in on Andrian who was still in the same spot I left him at, the urge to kill was so strong within me that I almost couldn’t breathe.

A soft cough echoed out, bleeding into my disturbing thoughts and pulling me back to the present. My eyes widened, my breath bated as I stared down at my mate, carefully stroking his cheek with my thumb.

"Bunny?" I whispered, heart soaring high when he coughed then sneezed.

He blinked his eyes open after that, brown eyes filled with confusion then relief as he stared up at me. Relief flooded my entire soul at once

"You’re alive." I whispered, thumb shaking as I grazed his cheek again. My entire heart had been filled with so much panic, which just reminded me once again that I really wouldn’t be able to survive without him.

He leaned into my touch, sniffling a little but then in the next moment, his eyes widened, panic flooding them.

"Where’s Elio?" He asked, eyes darting around.

I flattered, unsure of how to respond. I was certain the boy was dead from all that stabbing, but I possibly couldn’t tell him that right now.

I tried saying something else to distract him but he pulled out of my grasp, fighting against my hold till I reluctantly relented.

When he sighted Elio, his steps flattered.

Kim and Roy instantly attempted rushing towards him to prevent him from getting to Elio’s body but I shook my head at them. I wasn’t sure labyrinth saw them when he walked past them, all his focus was on the body on the ground with the knives still sticking out from him.

When he collapsed on the ground beside Elio, his tears flowed as he pulled Elio’s head over his laps. His hands shook as he cupped Elio’s face. His tears fell over Elio’s face like rainbows and somehow, I could feel him about to snap.

Watching him this broken was killing me and I was about to go get him away from the body when he suddenly threw his head back and screamed.

The sound was ear splitting, but after it continued to ring out continuously in echoes, I realized something was off.

Everywhere began to shake in the next moment, the entire flowers around the garden all slowly died and the green leaves turned brown. When the ground began to shake, I panicked just as Kim let out a scared scream, demanding what was happening.

The sky darkened, and then the clouds opened to send a cold shower of rain over us.

My mate still had his head throw back and the scream he let out was still ringing out. I began to head towards him, scared that something was happening to him, but then I instantly froze up when a strong gust of wind began to blow, mixing with the rain to create a massive thunderstorm. I almost lost my footing and had to grip onto a tree for balance like Kim and Roy were currently doing.

Everywhere slowly grew dark till I couldn’t make out a thing. The continuous ringing scream was driving me crazy, and I was still worried about my mate, wanting to reach him at all cost.

One moment, it was pitch black. The next moment, a bright light suddenly came on in the midst of the darkness. I didn’t understand what was happening at first, till I realized that the light was shining from the middle of the labyrinth’s chest, like a glowing bulb was trapped inside there.
