Carnivals: Claimed By The Deranged Alpha Prince [BL]-Chapter 241: Breaking Loose
Chapter 241: Breaking Loose
Blaze’s pov
The glowing light was bright and white, increasing gradually till it was swallowing up the icky darkness enveloping the entire atmosphere. I blinked slowly as I continued to watch him, and with the rain pouring down on me in waves, that was when it slowly began to dawn on me.
It couldn’t be, could it?
The light shining from my mate’s chest swelled even more till it was fully diminishing the darkness that covered everything moments ago. I waited a few moments, adjusting my eyesight, and then I released my hold on the tree’s branch and instantly began to make my way towards my mate, feeling confused and worried about him at the same time. Before I could get to him, to my utmost shock, the light still shining brightly from the middle of his chest suddenly shot out. It was like it was controlled with a remote from the force at which it flew out from the front of his chest.
It was shaped like a diamond, hovering in front of his chest for a few moments. After that, the glow heightened and then in the next second, it shot straight into the sky in a flash.
As soon as that happened, the rain instantly ceased falling, the dark clouds disappeared and the sky brightened a sharp blue. My mouth was hanging open from shock because of what I had just witnessed happening in a span of minutes.
Even though I was still extremely confused, it wasn’t hard to put twos together.
Labyrinth’s powers had just become unlocked.
I wasn’t sure of why that was happening, if it was because of something Andrian did to him before I arrived, or if it was the anger he felt after seeing his friend bleeding out that made him snap.
The entire atmosphere was now bright and as I glanced around, I noticed Roy and Kim wearing identical shocked expressions across their faces. They weren’t clinging onto anything any longer like they did when a large wind began to blow from nowhere.
From the side of my eyes, I noticed that Andrian had shifted back into his human form and was trying to escape. Roy was on him in instant, ordering Kim to give him a hand when Andrian began to struggle hard while letting out snarls.
When I glanced back at my mate, I closed the rest of the distance between us, carefully crouching beside him. Roy and Kim regarded me wearily, they looked unsure and scared, which is genuinely understandable. The echoing screams had long stopped but I could still faintly hear it in my mind.
Labyrinth’s head was still in a tilted position and his eyes were closed. He hadn’t moved at all through the minutes all that ruckus happened. His hands were still firmly around his friend’s body, the knives still in place. I wanted to get him separated from this body before anything, but first, I had to confirm he was alright.
I gently moved my fingers through his black hair which had blond roots, and then I carefully lifted his head up, wincing a little because I knew he might get a neck ache tonight.
Once his head was straightened, his eyes still remained close and there was yet to be any indication that he was alright. That made me panic and I gently shook his head, wrapping my arms around his body from the side.
"Bunny?" I whispered into his ear before lightly kissing it.
"Labyrinth, wake up." I repeated after waiting a few moments.
Before I could say anything else or start to actually worry about something being wrong with him, his eyes slowly snapped open, and it felt like I got punched in the chest.
Instead of brown eyes due to the contact lenses he constantly had in, in its place were two glowing eyes which were sparkling blue. It wasn’t his natural blue color, this was more enhanced and it was actually glowing.
I blinked once, trying to wrap my head around all that had happened, but before I could get a word out, he slowly turned his head around and I watched as his glowing eyes zeroed in on a struggling Andrian.
"You." He uttered, completely startling me and my arms almost dropped from his body when his voice came out with a dangerous echo. His voice wasn’t polite or gentle like it always is, it was cold, lethal and very dangerous.
Roy and Kim, who were holding a struggling Andrian down, flinched at the same time before exchanging panicked looks.
"You... murderer." He continued, the echoes heightening and I felt completely floored at what I was witnessing. This wasn’t the labyrinth I knew, it was like he had suddenly turned into someone else.
He didn’t acknowledge me as he shrugged my arms off his body. I tried holding him down because I was really worried about him and confused at the same time, but it was fruitless. Once he was on his feet, he suddenly stretched his two hands out, and at once, the sky crackled dangerously with lightning bolts.
Kim yelped and abandoned Andrian, taking cover behind a large tree. Roy tried holding Andrian on his own, but he soon lost courage after one look at my mate’s enraged face. He abandoned Andrian in the next moment and at once, a fear ridden Andrian attempted fleeing even with a broken leg and arm.
I was about to stop him from fleeing because I really wanted to finish him off this time, but I stopped in my tracks when Labyrinth began to loudly chant a language I didn’t understand. The thunderbolts in the sky sharpened and as his echoes increased, glowing sparks began to dance and crackle around his fingers.
In the next moment, Labyrinth was directing his outstretched hands at a running Andrian, sending a long string of lightning bolts flying at him. He screamed bloody murder and fell down in seizures as the lightning wrung his entire body till nothing was left.
Andrian was sobbing and weakly trying to crawl away with the last of his strength but Labyrinth slowly walked towards him till he was staring down at him, glowing eyes still in place.
"What- what’s happening to you? How did yo...?" Andrian was still stuttering when Labyrinth crouched beside him and held an outstretched palm above his heaving chest.
"For all the sufferings and pains you’ve caused." My mate growled darkly, and even though Andrian hurriedly tried scrambling away while desperately spitting out apologies, a rush of light burst out from labyrinth’s palm, entering into Andrian’s chest and killing him at once.
I didn’t realize my mouth had been hanging open this whole time until right now. As I closed my mouth, awe swelled throughout my entire insides.
Labyrinth had just killed Andrian.
My mate who couldn’t hurt a fly had just killed someone.
My mate now posess indescribable powers, powers I’ve never witnessed before. He acted with a ruthlessness I had never imagined he’d never have, and I wasn’t sure of how to feel.
The mate that I constantly wanted to protect was nowhere in sight. In his place was someone who welded powers so large, that it was enough to make him one of the powerful beings on earth.
He slowly rose to his feet, turning away from Andrian’s body. He took a few steps forward, movements sluggish and slow and I took a tentative step towards him, wondering if he still recognized me because he was yet to acknowledge me.
The glows in his eyes slowly ebbed away and then he began to sink towards the ground in a fall. I rushed forward and caught him before he could fall, and as soon as our eyes locked, he burst into tears, buring his face against my chest.
